not a secret. Source physics - pistols and high-power rifles go through certain solid-type glass while shotguns and crap smg's don't. The map-makers know that that exploit is there probably, just leave it to spice it up a bit and make noobs cry.

okay, top 5 best pc games EVER. This is a timeless list. 1. Half-Life (not only was it one of the best games ever, it also spawned the best online series [cs:s] ever and excellent sequels). The gold standard for the fps. 2. Sid Meir's Alpha Centauri - the standard by which all turn-based rts games are judged, and one of the highest scoring PC games ever on most records sites. Gold standard for turn-based strategy 3. Command and Conquer (both original and red alert) - let the rts really spread its wings on the PC, laying a game foundation for all that is holy in rts games. Foundation for RTS genre 4. Counter-Strike - the definitive, groundbreaking model of the online fps game. All online fps games follow in its noble footsteps. 5. Doom - that little game that made all violent video gaming possible.

wtf is this thread? seriously? I want the thirty-four seconds of my life i spent realizing this was the stupidest thread ever and replying to it back.

I really like the community, I would rate the composition and friendliness of the community like, a 9. However, the fact that we have a lot of empty servers (TF2, Tag, CSS most of the time, etc.) leads me to think we need a little bit more coordination on getting more people to play our servers. I just hate it to log on during normal hours and see half our servers in my favorites list not anywhere near capacity or empty.

I loved the first NS, played it a lot for a while before source. I think the second version will have a lot of potential.

I would nominate Raven (for his door-crushing douchebaggery), but I slay him around too much to not be a hypocrite

my monitor can do 1600x1200, but I only use that res on a few very unique games. For other games I use a wide range, higher for FPS and lower for RTS (since the buttons get too small at high resolution on an RTS). The lowest I use is 1280x1024.

I think that (tell me if I am wrong though Niko) the only game you are really talking about is WoW. I don't think anybody in the community really hates anyone for playing it, it is just depressing. I hate that I no longer play with all the people who left our vent and our servers to go play WoW. I don't hate them, I don't even hate the game, I just hate that they are gone all the time. I don't think that WoW is really a game we can incorporate into the SG community either, it is so time consuming and immersing that it would push every other game outta the way mostly. I say give it time. The WoW people will come back eventually. Hopefully sooner than later.

I think there is strategy in SINS, however, once you get a strong fleet or two together and start steam-rolling, the game is over. The endgame has no strategy really. It is a race at first to develop, then a battle to get a majority of planets, then a long, drawn out massacre by the victor. Once you lose a decisive fleet battle, you've basically lost the game. That is my main problem. I loved Alpha Centauri and Civilization, but in those you could lose a few battles and not lose a game you had invested 20 hours in. Finally, there is little to the economic and cultural aspects of this game. They can't induce victory, you can't win by getting all the tech or making everyone love you. I like the game, don't get me wrong, it just is limited. I love the graphics, scope, and battles. I especially like the way they did the stars and space background parts, much more realistic than some other space games.

okay, i like TEC. I am having trouble on the larger maps... this game is way too slow also. If the game speed was twice as fast I could play just as well, but instead i spend half my time panning and zooming to get cool views while I wait to earn enough credits or iron or crystal to do something. I love the design, but I don't see much actual strategy. The biggest strategy is choosing what planet to colonize next, beyond that it is just a choice of tech, ships or planet development.

I find time to play all the new games and css, they are all fun. Just because you can play more graphics intensive games doesn't mean you can't enjoy css or any of its mods still.

my Creative Fatal1ty set came with a warranty. I used it when i broke the cord. However, i wouldn't spend money on a warranty unless you paid over $100 for the headset.

If you need a mic, take a look at the Razer Baracuda, which is a massive thing with actual surround sound. I considered getting it, but you need either one of those digital audio slot things on your sound card or else space for like, six jacks (i plug in on the front of my computer, no room). Reviews are good. and they won't break the bank. If you don't necessarily need a mic, get a good senheisser.
