  1. Every player can, by default, jump onto the head of another standing player. Your jump height is THAT HIGH. If the room is tall enough there's NO EXCUSE to be stuck behind someone other than you sucking at the game.
  2. More information.
  3. That's... actually... a good idea.
  4. If you can learn to write 2010 on something within a few weeks after an entire year of writing 2009 on something you can bloody learn to use SM_ and !...
  5. My avatar is "kimber james". Try a google image search if you're that interested.

  6. I linked to something that is spamless and tells you everything you ever need to know about keyboards. ... Your car goes 75mph on the interstate, does that mean it's incompatible with a road with a speed limit of only 35mph? USB 2.0 is inherently compatible with USB 1.1.
  7. WHICH intel dual core. There's a difference between a Pentium D, a hyperthreading P4, and an actual Core 2 Duo.
  8. Go read the other threads that are active right now about this exact subject...
  9. All I'm going to say at this point on that subject is you need to take THAT up with the mapper who isn't doing his job very well if you're rendering everything in front of you all the time and that's not related to graphical fps but the engine's internal framerate. NLS: Why would you set your internet speed at 56k? Are you actually on dialup? If you are then the problem is simply slow internet.
  10. He's on wifi Jager, I'm pretty sure that's the problem. Before anything else lets try just plugging a network cable in and using that instead of wireless. While we're at it though right click on the steam icon, go to settings, and make sure your internet speed is set properly. That can cause problems too. Also NLS CEL: From your net_graph 3 what we need are the numbers circled and labelled 5 in that link. The first two are a lot less important, the third tells us how many updates you're sending and receiving. In perfect-math-land (or with a good connection to a good server) that should be identical to the server's tickrate or within a few of it. That may have caused your lag problems but I guarantee you that it was not because it was actually doing what you thought it was. For years now servers have only been able to execute an extremely limited set of commands that have the server_can_execute flag on them, and fps_max is NOT one of those commands. As the TA you should know more about the source engine than this, go read Whisper's again because you're claiming things that are physically impossible for more than one reason. Even aside from the server_can_execute flag there's also the issue that Source's graphics are almost completely decoupled from everything else. The ONLY way the client's graphical framerate will EVER affect ANYTHING is when their graphical framerate is lower than their update rates they will have a limit on the number of updates they can send TO the server. If anything I'd say it was either the server's FPS you changed, which is a completely different thing from clientside graphical FPS, or it was some kind of glitch caused by putting a command the server can't actually execute into that section.
  11. 40 euros is more than 40 dollars...
  12. Are you fucking kidding me? THD isn't some audiophile fantasy like electron-alignment, it's how you measure the quality of audio hardware. You just bitched me out over "that one piece of information" that is the single most important determining factor in the quality and accuracy of sound any speaker produces because that's what it's a measurement of! That's equivalent to saying that clarity and cut aren't important when measuring the quality of diamonds even though those ARE WHAT DETERMINE THE QUALITY!
  13. I've got to ask, wtf is that in your signature?

  14. Hey Gayest if it's so good why don't they publish the THD? Sennheiser's is less than 0.2%, how's theirs?
  15. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150014%20103530090&name=1TB%20and%20higher 1tb 7200RPM starting at $64. When you're on the newsletter you can get OEM 2tb's for around that price sometimes.
  16. Jager source uses a mostly decoupled engine, it's not like Enemy Territory where your graphical framerate and the game's framerate are tied. The closest we get is that your rates can never be higher than your framerate but whatever you set your rates to is still the maximum if you set it lower than your framerate. Case in point I use an uncapped framerate and I get no choke even at over 400fps... unless the server is doing a dumb and trying to send me too much data while they have their rates capped too low on their end. There's just no physical means for your FPS being higher to affect your choke since choke is purely the server wanting to send you more data than it actually can for any reason their side or yours. Go check whisper's or the Valvewiki if you don't believe me. There's something else going on here. NLS CEL: Are you on wireless or trying to connect to someone across the world or something?
  17. Lockerz

It took me almost a year to get $50 amazon.com credit out of Mahalo, which is about the least bullshit of any of these "free money/product" websites. It would take me less than two days worth of working at a minimum wage job to make very nearly double that.
  18. Woah, no shit it got worse with settings like that, i'm surprised you haven't had more crashes, choke means the server wants to send you MORE data and it can't. You just set your rates so low that you'd get banned from any serious server. Set your stuff to 100-100-300000 and then give it a try.
  19. I used to work for counter-hack in the pre-VAC days so I was kinda expected to regularly use various hooks and other hacks to see if the anticheats were working and help admins learn how to spot the real thing. I got to work with Joolz once which was kinda cool.
  20. Next time the ban system seems broken please don't publicize it and PM someone so we can keep it quiet and get it fixed faster. Obscurity is not security but all the same when the bans aren't working we don't want EVERYONE to know it's open season on the servers.
  21. All this does is rebind controls, if it isn't flooding the server it doesn't fall afoul of our rules. I'd be surprised if more people here don't have scripts that fix settings or bindings.
  22. Smallest, green, BUT I have transparency disabled so it doesn't dissapear into bright backgrounds quite so much.

I think this could use your input, you guys can explain the issues with running another escape server.

  24. Razer or Logitech are good for mice, for keyboards you should readh This which actually explains what all this mechanical/film/dome crap I spout off about is and shows you pictures of the inner workings of each. For headphones avoid USB and "gaming" or "surround" branded anything like the plague. Sound production is a science, not an art, and it's a very well established one with a lot of it's work based in objective fact and empirical science. Unlike mousepads or chairs it is very much a reality for a given headphone to simply be objectively Better than another based on it's frequency range, total harmonic distortion, and components quality. When you have a THD so bad you refuse to publish it and your headphone design is to shove 4 earbuds into a plastic casing and call it "surround sound" your shit is worse than Sennheiser's not because of brand loyalty or opinion but because that's just how the world works.
  25. ~$1000

Eh prices went up on some things. Must be because of summer... Core i7 920 Asus Rampage II Geil 3x2gb DDR3 Corsair 650tx XFX HD 5770 Choice of HDD 750GB-2tb, most around $70-80 Choice of Burner most around $20-$30 Choice of Cases from $30 to "If You Need To Ask" And someone else needs to suggest a wireless card because wireless is terrible for gaming and I personally don't (or rather won't) have anything to do with it. Average expected price: $989 before case if you go with a 500gb hdd and a not-cheapest burner. Cases are honestly one of the few things best bought at retail, if there's any sort of computer store near you it's probably worth it to go and see if they have a nice inexpensive coolermaster midtower there that will cost you less than paying $16 shipping on a case. Also there seems to be some sort of strange shortage of nvidia cards at the moment, newegg has literally TWO modern nvidia cards in stock right now. WTF?
