  1. Dam......now I can't read my horoscope every day. What am I going to do without Mystic Meg telling me that today my lucky number is 32 and I will meet a new mysterious person :confused1:
  2. Exactly? I know what auto tune does...but it matters why? I don't really care if they write their own songs or if they use auto tune or not...in the end if the final product sounds good then that's fine by me. Auto tune is also used to add to effects even if it isn't really needed...sometimes it pays off but it can be way overused (e.g. Black Eyed Peas recently) No one who is in the music industry has no talent. If that were true then they would be ordinary people like us. You can disagree if you like but that's the truth. He may have talent but for me you're overstating it......or at least I don't value his talent as highly as you do in the perspective of music as a whole. Talent isn't some factual, universal understanding you know...so this "It's talent, period cuz I'm srs" is a bit arrogant....in the end I never said he doesn't have talent. What I've done is dispute that he has enough to live up to your claims. I said this band (IMO) is almost identical to similar metal bands. That would from your perspective mean other talented, popular metal bands. Unless you yourself believe that similar metal bands to his are your average singer out of a hotel then you're taking me out of context. I could be more specific but I really can't be bothered. I'm not saying all metal bands are the same....this band just seems to be very similar/indistinguishable from a lot of bands posted in this section. You could train your ears to hear beauty in anything if you listen to it long enough....that's just coping with it. I could cope with metal music...but I very easily get either irritated by the noise or lost/bored because the lyrics are indistinguishable/weird/the music is like a loud drone and completely uncatchy/memorable. There are exceptions to this because metal is fairly big genre.....but generally (for me) those would be the more mainstream, lighter types of metal.....(if that). In the end it's not about whether my ears are trained enough or not....listening to music isn't a science it's about taste. I don't like metal generally and I've explained it. Taking into account that the majority of people don't like metal it's not scandalous....and it's definitely not to do with a lack of training. Metal isn't just noise and volume > quality...or at least that's what they intend.....but for me it doesn't work. Exactly? I know what auto tune does...but it matters why? Metal isn't just noise and volume > quality...or at least that's what they intend.....but for me it doesn't work. I know.....I know some people who I've more recently detached myself from (not just because they're metal fans...but they're weird...alcoholics...very annoying...especially when drunk...and too much weed...and sitting in fields on cold nights) and one was talking to me about grunting/growling/whatever and telling me that it was hard for him to conqueror because it's a skill. I don't doubt that.....but it's not a skill I value highly. I don't want to listen to it even if it's supposed to be impressive....in the end it's annoying. Also he was into some stupid pig squealing shit. Most stupid thing I've ever heard. Two examples below that are claimed to be some of the best musicians around today that so happens to play metal. I agree that the musicians are talented but for me it's being used in a genre of music I generally just don't like. Because of that their talent (as good as it may be) does not appeal to me. I can tell that my opinion may be ridiculed on here because generally this community (or at least the people who bother with this section) are either into metal or are Toxin/insert other cool kid. But in the end there's lots of music beyond metal.....looking at my playlist I like a very quite range of music......just generally nothing extreme.
  3. We spoke a handful of times in 3 years Strange really, though you are from the West Coast so time difference..... Anyway have fun and good luck with RL
  4. Why is Batman not on the list?
  5. Doesn't have the same effect as getting people into a carrier helicopter and crashing it....or planting c4 on a plane and crashing it into enemy tanks etc... The amount of times where doing that shit got me into a laughing fit for ages was countless.
  6. Not really. Best voice/best songs don't come hand in hand all the time. Live performances? Definitely but albums, cds etc? No way.... Songs are noise...you might add words...you might add sound effects, instruments.....vocals etc but it's still noise to be basic. Whether or not that noise contains auto tune doesn't always matter...especially when it makes the song sound better. I doubt anyone really cares if Freddy Mercury could sing Melodic Death Metal or not.....in the same way that no one cares whether he could fart the alphabet. Then don't originally post a video which doesn't show off his talent at all. IMO "melodic death metal" as it is generously named is not worthy of meaningful recognition....even the general instrumentals/general instrument play you get with metal comes across like the vocals....volume over quality/catchyness. Thrashing at a guiter, drums etc for me doesn't work.....it's just noise. Based on that first 45 seconds he's pretty good (though still not nearly "the best in the world")...though the thought of why he has gone into this industry when he could "sell out" and be a lot more popular and make a lot more money is beyond me. Range isn't everything you know....in the end if he's screaming at highly or grunting lowly that might be talent to you but it's just stupid to me. Maybe it's just that the band (for me) being so boring/annoying is undermining this guy's talent but I don't think so...I think he's not much better than your average singer from similar bands...same style...singing generally in the same range.....it's actually hard for me to tell these songs apart from each other they're all so alike.
  7. Taylor Swift.

Hey hey, you you, I want to be your boyfriend!
  8. I lol'd when I noticed I was the only one who wrote more than 4 lines.....but I get carried away
  9. I know, I watched my brother playing it for a bit and it looked like I'd go 1-10 score wise Not really the same "grief factor" as BF2 either so I am disappoint.
  10. Maybe. Played the campaign and never bothered with online so might as well start Friday night.
  11. Start playing on SG Zombie Escape UK around December 2007 and own dat shit. Was the abuse bitch of Flux who used all kinds of powers on me Perm ban because of hacking on my account (not me....:ohwell:). Ended up VAC'D Told if I buy new account I'm welcome back so I do (well..my brother did because it was his fault).....and become active on forums. 8 months down the line I'm very active, lots of complaints, ideas etc and being helpful...apply for admin and a resounding yes...which was great! By now I'm still mostly playing Zombie Escape but go on Breakfloor and surf too...can't even remember all the servers but never Napalm because it sucks Form part of the British higher up invasion as I randomly am appointed CA (was surprised to learn about it in the announcement thread itself. Then maybe a month or three later end up being AO (around June 2009...). Never really bothered adding maps but other then that I was probably one of the most active AOs. The other fat kids just played Runescape . Anyway I all of a sudden became LG I assume because I wasn't doing everyone else's work for them....though I was about to resign because it's way too much work/hassle being AO. There's no link between becoming LG and my activity dropping but it did....mostly because I started getting bored of CSS and started playing different games. Since late 2009 I'd say I've had a few small bursts of strong activity on SG servers.......the Scrim period which was very entertaining and fun (if Mick wasn't being cool) and the GMOD servers which became my main game when I basically dropped CSS. Traitor/RPG server was good times. After losing interest in GMOD I've not been on SG servers much......a small stint on Minecraft servers which I may go back to.....but generally been playing other games on PS3 and on PC (such as LoL, HoN, HOI3, CoH etc).....now I'm pretty much just a cool kid who has a lot of forum posts...a good history with SG and some wise words to help out I'm not necessarily done with SG...but it would have to move in line with my gaming interests. When I tell stories I do waffle on so no h8ters plz.
  12. Only in your dreams does such a club extend to those in blue.
  13. My dad had a SNES and I started playing when I was like 2/3. First games were Metroid, Kirby and Donkey Kong 3. Got a Playstation when I was 7.... I hadn't really been on a computer for anything other than to draw cows, fields/random other children's stuff on MS Paint until I was 7. Dad brought home a demo disc full of games and I was hooked on Age of Empires 2. Bought it and played it religiously for many many years. I loved the community but SG is probably better.
  14. zero care

  18. It's funny because I made a complaint about him and voiced early concerns about him and no one listened......though then again the person handling my complaint was Suri so no surprise.....
  19. I know right
  20. ^ You're such a cool cat. Google/Youtube makes money off people searching for other people's sites/videos etc...not Google's. So this is worse than piracy and they don't deserve it? This is business.....obviously there was a gap in the market and Jewpiter is filling that gap. If Google didn't exist lots of business and people would be missing out in many shapes and forms. Ok so it's not to the same scale but Jewpiter is helping car companies get out their manuals to consumers. Car companies make manuals because they want you to read them.....if you don't fuck your car up as much then they're more likely to retain your business next time you buy a car...less money potentially spent on replacements due to warranty..less lawsuits maybe etc. All of the people selling manuals are just middle men like Jewpiter. They make money by selling the product....Jewpiter does it by giving it away and making money on ads. Can manuals be legally downloaded freely? Yes. Is it hard to find manuals? Obviously if they go to Jewpiter's site to find them. Result of this? People who want manuals get them and pay no money. Jewpiter makes money. Business as usual..... If you make $1000 a month and spend so little time making that money then you're a great entrepreneur. Like Bob I wish I could do this but I don't have the experience and obviously the most important thing is to find that gap in the market.....
