If a T accidentally picks up a gun via planted, teammate dying or whatever accidental method, generally speaking you need to give them a few seconds to drop it. Generally speaking, you should tell them to drop the gun. Use common sense and your best judgement...Really not sure why this needed to be a thread.

Don't think we ever said being told to actively do something was a confusing order. I think you're getting confused with us saying you can't do shit like "stand in the corner, stay crouched, spin in circles and don't stop jumping". As for the question, I do believe a stance was made in the past but think it may have been before I become AO, stating that you can't force them to actively play soccer or something and that staying in the goal is fine. Going to defer to @Wawa to see if he remembers. If not I'll talk to him first chance I get and get back to you.

My job is customer service at my local store. Being AO is a side project or hobby if you will. Same applies for the admins. Being admin isn't anyone's job. No one is being paid to do any of this. We do ask that admins help when they can, but we have a system in place for when you can't get an admin on. If you are unable to get an admin, you can make a player complaint, which you're already aware of. Sometimes admins just aren't able to come on or are busy doing other things. This thread is so far beyond unnecessary. Locking this thread before it gets any worse than it already is. I'd imagine some other AOs or BDs will likely want to comment though.

So far I've asked Wawa, black rain and Pickle and none of us think it's worth going out of the way to contact valve about it. Not to mention if valve does a 180 later we risk either not catching it in time, or that's just more trouble to remove it and explain to people why it's gone.

Honestly I just don't think it's worth the risk. Know some people would like it, but if we can't be 1000% sure it's safe, it's not something worth risking getting blacklisted IMO. Even if there's only a 1% chance. Unless any other AOs are against it, I'm just going to reject it.

If you throw a grenade in the area of a CT, expect to get shot. And rightfully so. Even in your "innocent to proven guilty" argument, if you threw a nade anywhere near a police officer (or in general really) you're going to get shot. Same with knifing. You're welcome to knife the air, but if you attempt to knife a police officer the judge is literally going to throw a book at you if you argue "but I didn't actually harm him". Role play aside, what reason do you have to throw a nade near a CT other than to harm him? Even if you didn't actually mean to, you just need to pay better attention to your surroundings and where you're throwing. Same goes for knifing, if you're chasing a CT and clearly in his face trying to knife him, there's no reason you shouldn't get shot. Read the thread I made that All Ts linked to and if you still have any questions feel free to ask, but the rule isn't being changed.

The whole CT armor thing is a very fragile subject since it severely affects the way the game plays out. We've tried just about every combination you can think of and the current setup has proven to be the best working one right now. At this time nothing is going to change in regards to CT armor.

Phrasing is key. That phrasing means you can't let your buddy go to pool while the rest go to soccer, then the next round let him go to climb by himself, then the next round follow you around, then the next round have a freeday ect.

@ExRev at some point you can start to make the case that them allowing their buddy to follow them around or some shit is going against the don't repeat orders rule. But regardless, if what they're doing is disturbing the ability of the game to actually be played, then it is not allowed. That's just common sense (herr derr no such thing as common sense...herr derr go fuck yourself). I don't see any reason to make a special rule against special orders. If nothing else we can specify that the no repeating orders rule also extends to not giving people special privileges round after round.

@Black Rain my understanding from what I've seen so far is switch knife is safe to add. I'm in no hurry to add it since I usually got annoyed by people typing takeknife in chat anyway so... Think we could prob discuss it with all the AOs and BDs but if we aren't 100% certain I don't think it's worth adding. Better safe than sorry.

I'd be fine adding takeknife to PB. I'll let pickle decide if he wants to add it to TTT or not but I don't see any harm in it. @Enderspine I won't add dropknife to PB since that's just going to cause a rule to be made saying CTs can't make Ts drop their knife and overall you're just asking for trouble. Not sure about our other servers tho.

Just gonna list my work schedule for this week and the days I work I'll put in ( ) when I'll be home. Friday: 3-11 EST (home around 11:30) Saturday: going out of town so if we want to do it early I can be there. Would like to start no later than 3 EST. Sunday: 3-11 EST (home around 11:45) Monday: off Tuesday: 7-3 EST (home around 3:30 pm) Wednesday: 9-5 est (home around 5:45)

You guys are way over thinking this... Simply put, if a CT wants to give special orders to his buddy he can. If the order is pool, and a CT wants to let his friend go to soccer then so be it. They also need to understand by doing that they are risking their friend getting killed due to the confusion it can cause. CTs can give special orders as long as they don't do it all the time and aren't causing major issues with it. Meaning if every single round they send all Ts to pool but then lets his buddy go wherever they need to stop. It's fine every now and then, but if they're doing it constantly, and especially if it's causing issues then they either need to stop, or an admin needs to step in.

Working 3-11 est Friday. Gone all day Saturday and 3-11 est Sunday. So unless y'all want to do it late at night, I won't be able to make it.
