  1. Every time someone mentions a lack of things to do, someone else mentions razor. The difference is razor is aesthetically pleasing (in comparison to most maps it's compared to) and is very well balanced. It's JB at its core. There's plenty of options for CTs to control the Ts, while still offering Ts numerous ways to rebel. Razor is only boring when CTs literally send the Ts to one area and stand there and watch them the whole round.
  2. I'm sorry what.... Evol said "type LRs in chat", Brandon TALKED on mic saying he wanted shot 4 shot...and evol killed him???.... Last CT or not, I am calling major fucking bullshit on this situation. Per the jail break rule clarification thread, orders must be reasonable, which specifies "The order fits in with the role playing of 'Guards ordering Prisoners around' and there's no bullshit about it.". This whole fucking "type LRs in chat thing" is so fucking stupid. 9 times out of 10 there's a handful of CTs alive, and usually 2-4 Ts left. Evol didn't say "all ts off mic". He said type LRs in chat. You're basically saying, if Brandon had said "I like turtles" on mic, he wouldn't have been shot. But because he fucking said "i want shot for shot" he's going to fucking die? I don't care if he's last CT or one CT out of 20. That's the most bullshit thing I've heard today, and I fucking work at a grocery store. And even in regards to if he had said "all ts off mic"...for what fucking purpose? The same thread I linked to earlier says examples of warning shot situations are "Talking on mic when told not to talk over a CT's order" . I'd like to highlight "talk(ing) over a CT's order". If evol asked what they wanted to do for their LRs, and brandon told him on mic shot for shot, I can guarantee he wasn't talking over him. Ordering Ts off of mic should be used for when Ts are talking over CTs and making it hard to give orders. Not just to increase the CT's power boner. Also FUCK YOU @Wawa talking to this fucker on TS and he's gonna fucking steal my line.
  3. Reading over the guide again, it's good for people to learn a bit more about the game mode, but like I said in my first post, the vast majority of new players joining for the first time won't take the time to read the entire thing. People don't read. Ask anyone that works with people. You'll have the occasional God sends that do take the time to read, but most people will type !guide, see it and not bother. Really in the end we had it up for a good while and it never caused any problems so I don't care if it's added back, but I think the rules, faq and people being friendly is the best guide we can use. Newbies guide serves best as a reassessment or advanced teaching if you will.
  4. To be honest, and no offense to newbie, the guide he made was pretty useless in regards to advising new players to read it. No one is going to join the server for the first time and actually read that guide. Who's going to want to spend 10 minutes reading that instead of actually playing? Not to mention I don't think that guide officially serves as the rules that Onion and Wawa set, but people would refer to it as if it was. . As for the faq, I think it would be nice to have them be able to type !faq and it links them to the clarification thread. The game mode itself doesn't require a long comprehensive guide to understand. CTs give orders, Ts follow them. I think for the most part that the more detailed rules plugin we have, paired with the faq link to the clarification thread will suffice for helping new players.
  5. @GhostTitanium brought it to attention that this thread states that "invisible walls/objects" and "secrets" count as rebelling and are KOS. Onion asked me to talk to Wawa about it since he has some stuff to take care of, so Wawa is about to take a look now.
  6. I followed the link the map maker made in that one thread... Mother fucker... I downloaded the map from our server files, took a bit of magic aka having had to update the map list, but I was playing on, and checked again on jb_undertale_b2. So not sure what version is on the server if it's not the one I showed in the video.
  7. First time looking at the map, so if I overlooked anything in the video let me know, but here's a video showing the area in question: http://plays.tv/video/57698ac06c38377637/jb-undertale-glass-area I see no reason for that to be a KOS area by default. You can literally just walk right into it and if you made it an auto KOS area, I don't think many people would realize that just by looking at it. I think CTs can order the Ts to not go into that area, but don't think it should be KOS automatically like armory or a vent would be. http://plays.tv/video/57698ea90d27bf32b7/platform-on-jb-undertale?from=user I did go back into the game after rewatching this video, and I can understand how some people will think that the platform would be CT area/KOS, but by definition that platform doesn't lead to armory, which means it isn't a catwalk aka KOS.
  8. How do you figure that "jump step, cell hop etc" is implied with one step, but don't pick up the gun that I just told drop, isn't? If a CT tells you to go to pool, you don't go to pool, go "oh well I went to pool like he said, guess I can go to soccer now". CTs do not have to say "All Ts go to pool and stay at pool". Why would they have to specifically say "drop the gun and don't pick it back up". If you think for even one second about this, it isn't hard to figure out. It requires more thinking to go "oh well, he told me to drop this gun, but he didn't say to not pick it back up". Like I said, people have a seriously bad habit of trying to get smart with the orders given, then getting upset when they get busted for it. If you're going to roll the dice, don't be upset when you lose. Like I've said at least 3 or 4 times the past few days, we don't need a 1,000 page book of rules describing every tiny thing that some kid will think of. Because soon you'll need volume 2 and 3 and so on, and the game becomes unplayable and unenjoyable. Ts are not supposed to have guns. However if it is a secondary, the CT has to tell the T to drop it. Which is why it makes no sense why if a CT tells the T to drop a pistol, that a T can pick it right back up and not be shot for it.
  9. AFKs are, by rule, delaying. CTs are supposed to warning shot the T for delaying, and if he doesn't go, may be killed for not following the order. Similar discussion was had last month: http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=66965
  10. Opinions do weigh in when it comes to rule discussions. That's why it's called discussion, not facts. People are more than welcome to state their opinion on the rule, but that doesn't make it fact. That's why this section exists. If it's an open and shut case such as "can CTs give war days" then that's one thing, but if someone actually has a legitimate counter point to make then so be it. Loopholes such as going under the stair case when the order is "go to the bottom of the stairs" is one thing. Being told to drop a gun, and picking it right back up is a completely different situation. I'm sorry but this is complete bullshit. "No one said don't pick it back up". Yeah, well if the order is one step out and face the back, no one said keep facing the back so I guess they're free to look wherever. The rules don't have to be a 1,000 word essay describing every single possibility out of the millions of ways someone could find to manipulate them. Another example is "take one step out". That's all you have to say. All these "jump steps, cell hops, Panther steps (Jesus Christ that one joke I made a year ago got out of hand)" or any other shit is covered under "take one step". If a CT tell a T to drop a gun, and they drop and pick it back up, they are going to and should be shot for doing so. People complaining about that really need to stop. PB players the past year or so since I've been back have gotten really bad about screaming freekill or freeshot every time they get shot. If you try to get smart with the orders given, and get busted, don't be upset when you got shot. If you don't want to be shot or killed, then follow the orders given. Getting shot while trying to be smart with the orders given, is just a risk you have to take.
  11. I'd like to point out, that if you're being warning shot, you aren't innocent. It it does suck to get warning shot for 80 something damage, but then again its avoided but not placing yourself in the position to get warning shot in the first place. I know accidents happen and you sometimes accidentally put yourself in position to get warning shot, but still. As Onion said If someone goes to warning shot you, and does more than 99 damage, its a free kill (assuming the given situation requires a warning shot) and they should be slain. Kind hearted or not, the CT should either slay himself, or be slain. If someone continues to do this , they should be punished just like any other free killer. Edit: Also why the hell are we getting philosophical about freedom..we're talking about a video game, and mind you a video game mode based on prison, where freedom goes out the window.
  12. While I do agree the game is really stupid, and I hate when people play it, I do not think we need to add a rule for it. People for the most part enjoy the game and often request to play it. It's been a very common death game since at least last August and while it's annoying, doesn't actually harm the game mode that much. The vast majority of the time CTs will say what the death game is before Ts go to the designated area, so you usually know what you're getting yourself into. I just feel if we add a rule in regards to this, we're potentially opening the floodgates for other rules to be made about every minor aspect of the server. The game itself isn't breaking any rules, and players know what they're getting into with it. Don't think we need to add a rule for every minor thing, otherwise we risk having an 1,000 page book of rules that it eventually gets impossible to play the game or administrate it.
  13. Goku/Nimmy (Wolfee replacement) VS Repus/Bloodykiler: First game: 8-1 Second game: 5-2 Winner: Repus/Bloodykiller
  14. Goku/Nimmy (Wolfee replacement) VS Meta/Pickle: First game: 3-1 Second game: 6-1 Third game: 3-2 Winner: Goku/Nimmy (Wolfee replacement)
  15. @Metal @arottenpickle assume we're still down for later tonight? @Nimmy is my replacement since he's usually down to play whenever.
  16. "Up to the players not you"....I am the player in this situation. You and pickle's next match is against me. Which is why I said you could have PM'd me... As I said, no one had tried to get a set date and time until now. The closest thing was me asking before in this thread if you three would be able to play that coming weekend and nothing came of it. Chat box is not a reliable method of setting things up since you have no way of knowing if someone saw it considering they would have changed tabs or stepped away and people kept talking. If you can't see how your post can come across in a jackass manner, that's your problem. It's possible to "get to the point" without coming across rudely. The "play by X" is one of a few changes i have in mind for any future tournaments. Another one is adding a third member to each team while keeping it 2v2, that way it's easier to get the proper 4 on. More thought and work will be put into that when the time comes. As for forfeiting, that's what I've been mulling on with onion the past few days. When I get home tonight I'll message every remaining participant to see if they want to get a date setup ASAP or if they want to just forfeit out.
  17. Lol okay buddy. First off, Wolfee already informed me a few days back that he was dropping out. I just haven't informed anyone. I probably should have said something sooner, so I'll take the blame for that one. I have been talking to onion about how I want to go about getting this tournament wrapped up. So please back off of Wolfee's neck when you are not in the place to be doing so. Secondly, picking a date goes both ways. Neither you nor your partner (since we're apparently not mentioning names) have tried to pick a date. You've just said "I'm available after X time". No one has contacted anyone saying "hey can we do it on this day at about this time". I fully accept my share of the blame for this tournament not being done sooner. I should have put more work into having set dates or better means of getting games setup. As I already stated, this has been a huge lesson for me and will be taken into account if or when I setup another tournament. I did make it clear that participants would be responsible for setting up their own games. No one in our game has really gone out of their way to setup a set date until now, so I do not at all appreciate the way you just went about doing this. There are much better ways to word what you said without coming across as a, and to be blunt, jackass. For example, you could have easily PM'd me on here or messaged me on teamspeak. I will look into seeing who I can get that will be available at those times when I get home tonight. Regardless, I will handle it if I can't find someone. While we're at it though, when are you planning on giving away the copies of Rocket League you were going to raffle off?
  18. Tbh the only gray area I can think of would be the rule about reasonable orders. But there's really nothing unreasonable about telling a T to stop knifing. Now, that doesn't mean CTs should start telling them to stop knifing all the time just for the hell of it, for example like Xeno said there are some instances where telling them to stop knifing is very reasonable. And if you think about it, you've always been allowed to tell a T to stop knifing a vent. Out of curiosity @Hellobby what spurred this question? Assuming something happened on the server.
  19. Eh, not fond of that line of thinking. That's in a death game and shouldn't apply the same logic to regular scenarios. Regardless I agree with the rest. I see no reason why you couldn't tell a t to stop knifing, as long as you're reasonable about it. Meaning don't tell them to stop knifing with 3 mins left in the game, then shoot them with 30 secs left in the game if they knife again.
  20. Alright lets just be honest here, you recorded your video and saw souce beat you to it, but you just didn't want your hard work to go unnoticed.
  21. Watching demo and gonna upload to plays.tv to save others the time. But if it's something that can be fixed, this will probably be better off as a fix request rather than removing the map. Well the demo doesn't show how he got down there, and only shows him down once. Also plays.tv doesn't record when I'm watching demos. @souceboss said he's going to record the relevant part and upload it. Also told him to show it to an AO while he is at it so they can look at it to see if he was walling for player complaint .
  22. Lootcrate

I'd personally never buy the subscription. Just not something I'm interested in. I did buy the mass effect loot crate they released a few months ago. Was pretty content with the contents. Will likely order another special edition crate if it's something I have an interest in.
  23. As Onion said, please just use CSGO's built in demo ability. Not to mention, I would much much much much much much much (you get the point) rather look at an actual screen shot of the console then have it be in a demo. It's ridiculously easy to just hit F12 and publish through steam's built in screenshot function. Valve provided us with these beautiful tools that help us with rule breakers...why are you guys trying to over complicate it with these third party tools?
