Will there be punch and pie?

Before I look like a rogue BD who is making a brash, rushed decision to act on instinct in bringing back Casual, I have talked to @Black Rain about this before replacing Retakes. The reason why I brought back Casual is because in its current state in contrast to the state of Valve servers in general, I believe it has a chance to grow it's own unique, organic player base without the need of community intervention. It's a slim chance yes, but the odds are much better than Retakes--a server that competes with dozens of other retakes servers that advertise the weapon skins plugin--and has only populated itself when SG members join in numbers. Yes, we don't want to spread ourselves out so that we can't give our playing time to other servers like ZE, and we won't have to with Casual. Why not switch to BR instead? BR is not out of the question, nothing ever is and should be when a community wants to expand. In its current state though, it only looks like a fad to compete with PUBG, just like Hunger Games mod. However, I think there are developers working on a PUBG-like mod right now, so I think it's worth waiting to see what unfolds here before rushing a potentially good decision.

That's not what I'm trying to imply. I would love to bring back Casual, keep it around, and see it do well for this community beyond the short run. Given its history, confidence for the prediction of that is low, but that doesn't make future success impossible. Hence my bold/underlined text; if you have insight on a niche in the CSGO community that could spell success with bringing back Casual again this time around, I'm interested in listening/reading it. You've already voiced some legit observations from your own recent experiences, any more insight is definitely encouraged.

Expand on this please. If a case can be made to bring back Casual with a config that will self populate the server with little to no cannibalization, it will be considered.

If the person who started the death game was a prisoner, teamkilling is against the server rules and he can get punished by an admin for that. Never really saw a situation like this as a real inconvenience to JB in general, and you even say you didn't really care (guess you aren't an overly edgy JB player? ). If someone is persistently doing shit like this over and over though, that can be a problem.

Was a big Metallica fan in my childhood years, was into Mudvayne/Disturbed/Linkin Park/System of a Down during my adolescent years, and Dream Theater/Tool/King Crimson/Deftones/Pink Floyd during my college years. Nowadays, my taste is all over the place, but I'd say the top of my favorite bands list right now is currently King Crimson, Radiohead, Camel, and Deafheaven.

The Monthly Course Event returns just in time for the holidays! For December, we're going to choose a classic map that OG players know and (hopefully) love, mg_bob2! Like always, the current times on the map will be temporarily removed (starting today!) to give a clean slate just for December.
