  2. Hello everyone, We've got a super big promotion to announce and it's the best one yet! This man has been a part of SteamGamers for a decade now... let me say it again, a whole 10 years. He's been a higher-up twice during his time here. Previously was a former AO who ran our Jailbreak server in the past and now he currently manages our Internal Affairs team and our Marketing Team. Since his return, he's done an absolute stellar job at every rank he's obtained. He kicks ass as an IAO manager and has helped pushed for the growth and development for our community along with his team from all aspects of marketing. Our next promotion is no other than BoM! He will be promoted to Secretary to the Board of Directors! His new responsibility include: Support/build/fix servers Approve admin applications Set up new Admin and Subscriber access Issue admin warnings/punishments Keep the community updated of any changes Final say in all admin disputes Plan for growth (website/servers) Support forum/plugins/logos Review and implement community suggestions Promote/demote server admins Handle admin complaints Handle disputes among fellow admins Be a role model to all admins/setting by example Collect donations, manage subscriptions, and pay the bills Manage the website, forums, and bansite Manage AT staffing and responsibilities ... anything else that needs to be done Please join me in welcoming this man to our Directors team!   5. It's not a bait this time! Continuing the tradition where @Breadhosted it for years and the Events Team ran it last year (shoutout to @Ned for that and @nickfor the banger video), we're back again for the first admin contest of this decade. This year the EMs will be helping me host the 2020 Edition. There will be a new poll each day, with each one containing admins of the same rank. The poll will stay open for 24 hours. The people who are in each poll will be randomized. You can vote for multiple people in round one. You cannot change your votes once they are cast, so make sure you're voting for the people you want to vote for. You can vote for yourself, but I strongly urge against it since it makes you look like a douche. The two people who receive the most votes in the groups in round 1 will move on to the next round. Here's how the schedule will work: Round 1 Day 1 - 5 JAs Day 2 - 5 JAs Day 3 - 6 JAs Day 4 - 6 JAs In total, the 8 JAs who win their round will move onto round 2. In addition, the top two JAs who received the most votes but did not win their round will move on, so 10 JAs in total will make it to round 2. Day 5 - 9 SAs Day 6 - 9 SAs Day 7 - 9 SAs Day 8 - 9 SAs Day 9 - 9 SAs In total, the 10 SAs who win their round will move onto round 2. In addition, the top 4 SAs who received the most votes but did not win their round will move on, so 14 SAs in total will make it to round 2. Day 10 - 4 CAs Day 11 - 5 CAs In total, the 2 CAs who win their round will move onto round 2. In addition, the top CA who received the most votes but did not win their round will move on, so 5 CAs in total will make it to round 2. Day 12 - 4 SMs Day 13 - 4 SMs In total, the 4 SMs who win their round will move onto round 2. In addition, the top SM who received the most votes but did not win their round will move on, so 5 SMs in total will make it to round 2. Day 14 - 5 IAOs In total, the 2 IAs who win their round will move onto round 2. In addition, the top IA who received the most votes but did not win their round will move on, so 3 IAs in total will make it to round 2. Day 15 - 6 TAs In total, the 2 TAs who win their round will move onto round 2. In addition, the top TA who received the most votes but did not win their round will move on, so 3 TAs in total will make it to round 2. Day 16 - 5 Directors In total, the 2 Directors who win their round will move onto round 2. In addition, the top Director who received the most votes but did not win their round will move on, so 3 Directors in total will make it to round 2. Round 2 Day 17 - 10 JAs Day 18 - 7 SAs Day 19 - 7 SAs Day 20 - 10 CA+ Day 21 - 10 IAO+ The top 2 from each group will move onto round 3, and there will be five wild cards out of all five groups put together. 15 in total will move onto round 3. Round 3 Day 22 - 5 admins Day 23 - 5 admins Day 24 - 5 admins The highest vote receiver from each group + three wild cards from the groups put together will move onto the finals, making 6 admins total in the final round. Round 4 Day 25 - 6 admins, finals Once again, this contest is all for fun, and no hard feelings should be held. There’s no need to take it extremely seriously either, campaigning will make you look even worse than voting for yourself and ruin the contest for everyone else. If you would like to be excluded from the polls, feel free to post here or send me a message/pm - rounds are subject to change depending on the amount of people who drop out, along with any rank changes that occur while the polls are up.   8. I honestly skimmed the thread real quick to respond to this. It's extremely difficult to populate a deagle server specifically in our community judging by how we've had 3 events for it and I hosted 2 of the 3. There's only one community I know that has done it successfully and that's because that it's their star server in which the community only cares about their deagle server. This is not me shooting down the idea, it's just from my observations.
  9. Hello everyone! Today is a very exciting day in SG because we have successfully transitioned over to our new forums! As you can see, quite the changes have been made compared to our old one. We have left behind vBulletin and now are currently running our forums on Invision. Majority of the ranks are updated in names as well. We have made major changes to our donation system. Thanks to Liam Brown, all donations are once again properly accounted for in the monthly donation goal and are automatically processed. Compared to our old donation system where it would need to be manually checked, this new system is fully automated which will speed up the overall process. Another exciting part about the change in the donation system includes that we are introducing a third tier in our Supporter system! Starting now, you can now donate to become an Elite Supporter. More information can be found on our donate tab and the Marketing Team have provided more details about the new supporter system here. We have re-branded our logo once again by removing the infamous hyphen to become Steam Gamers and have re-launched our social media. We would like to thank all the staff involved in making this possible! The Design Team has done a beautiful job with the banners, the logo, the color schemes, and so much more to make our forums look amazing. The Community Advisors and Server Managers who have went out their way to test every nook and cranny to catch any bugs. The Marketing Team for the numerous discussions by recommending changes and upgrades regarding our brand and other general marketing aspects of SG. The Technical Team who have worked so hard with @Gator, @fantastic, and @Third to put together a fully functional and stable forums that we have been desiring for. Thank you to my fellow Directors for providing the support in every way possible from working on the technical development of the forums to working with all our staff on the front end. I cannot stress this enough but thank you so much to @Nishok, @Liam Brown, and@fantastic. These three men have worked countless hours behind the scenes and have given up sleep in terms of the heavy-duty technical development especially in the last 96 hours for the new forums. Majority of you guys don’t get see what goes on in the background, but us Directors know that Nishok and Liam Brown are always there to provide help whenever we require assistance. Thank you again for your tremendous dedication to SG and we are very appreciative that you both are part of our community. We thank you for your patience for the new forums. You may or may not come across some minor bugs that needs some squashing out, so feel free to suggest and we can handle them swiftly. We are also looking to implement some more features to the forums in the coming weeks. It’s been quite a journey and we know it took a bit longer than expected, but we’re very excited about this transition and look forward to seeing what the future holds for Steam Gamers.

  13. Hellooooo! On this lovely day in August we've got some exciting promotions to announce and we're looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table. Let's get right to it! First up, please join me in welcoming Case(dot), Astral, and welcoming back urpalerp to the Events Team! Their new responsibilities will include: Organize, plan, and run events Manage/Promote special events on our servers Manage and monitor gaming tournaments Make sure servers are ready for all special events Schedule events to fill servers in need via the steam community Work with the Administrative Team to create events that cater to community interests Up next, we've got Mace and ManiacJak joining the Marketing Team! Their new responsibilities will include: Manage all third party sites/applications. Manage all advertising, sponsorships, and affiliations. Recommend upgrades and general marketing aspects for the community. Research what the community likes / doesn't like. Upkeep the image of SG and help expand. Work with the Media Team to manage branding and community design. Work with Media team to manage social media accounts (Youtube, Twitch, etc). Next, to the Community Advisors team, we're promoting TheZZL! His new responsibilities will include: Work with the higher staff on implementing important decisions and projects Handling player complaints and issuing bans Moderation of the forum Give awards to members on request Send group invitations to members on request Post in-game server problems on the forum Help in any way to make the servers fun Handle reported posts on the forum Lastly, to the Administrative Team, we are promoting Gentoo! His new responsibilities will include: Verify that servers are operational Reboot dead/lagged servers Assist in training new admins Search for new maps for all servers Upload maps to the servers and fast downloads site Edit map lists & rotations Congrats guys!

  15. Really wanted this one after you sent me the link on Discord but seems like it'll be a while for it to be in stock. I found the XG2402 model for $209.99 at Micro Center yesterday but because it's TN I didn't pick it up. I snagged one 30 seconds ago because I luckily checked Amazon just in time. The $179 (+$11 tax) price tag screamed, "pick me!" Thanks a lot for the suggestions. Looking forward to getting this in 2 weeks

He started off as just a regular member like you guys and made his way all the up to the Board of Directors team for his hard work, dedication, and passion towards this community. His recognition doesn't go unnoticed and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors! Now it's time for some new promotions! First up, please join me in welcoming drippy to the Community Advisors team. We'll also be seeing a familiar face return to the team, Reid99. Both have shown exceptional work in their current ranks and it's time to see them move on up in SG! Their new responsibilities will include: Work with the higher staff on implementing important decisions and projects Handling player complaints and issuing bans Moderation of the forum Give awards to members on request Send group invitations to members on request Post in-game server problems on the forum Help in any way to make the servers fun Handle reported posts on the forum Next up, these guys are also familiar faces who will be returning to our awesome Media Team. Their new responsibilities will include: Manage forum and community website themes and layouts Manage all forum and community images (awards, rankbars, etc) Manage forum design sections (signature/avatar requests, etc) Work with Marketing team to manage branding and community logos/external advertising Work with Game Divisions to keep in-game branding and design (map textures for SG) up to date and relevant Work with Marketing team to manage social media accounts (Youtube, Twitch, etc) Now, we ain't done yet with our beloved Media Team. To the Media Manager rank, we are promoting Thuxys! He's done stellar work on the Media Team such as making banners for events, helping out with a project on the new forums, and making the sick banners for our Twitch channel! His responsibilities will remain relatively the same, while taking on the role of managing his team. On to the Technical Team! He's been a member of this team in the past and he's shown an interest in coming back to help SG out. We are promoting Repus to Junior Technical Administrator. He's been here a part of this community for a long time and has a solid tech background! His new responsibilities include: Fix technical issues that arise day to day (servers/site) Research/manage mods, scripts, and plugins to improve our servers Develop solutions to improve our servers/mods performance Discover and fix exploits against our servers/site Assist in data backup operations for the community's data Assist ATs when problems arise or others are on vacation Lastly, we're sad to see one of our Administrative Managers step down. Cept For Her will be leaving the AM rank because he's a giant Dark Magician Girl loving weeb. However, he's not just going anywhere yet. Please join me in welcoming Cept For Her to Technical Administrator! He's shown great technical experience in SourcePawn and we're very excited to have another SourcePawn coder joining our TA team. I've been looking out for deals on monitors and I'm tempted to buy this, but I could use some suggestions because maybe I'm overlooking on something potentially better? Looking for 24'' max 1080p 144Hz IPS G-sync would be nice but I read somewhere you can make FreeSync work with NVIDIA GPUs so doesn't matter(?) Budget: Up to $250 Danke
