  1. Here is a V2 with the reduced sound volumes along with increased fog distance from 360~ to about 550. I didn't want to increase it too much since the point of it is to cause confusion and make it easier to hide as a traitor for a few seconds. https://www.mediafire.com/file/a1h34gk3aro299f/ttt_doom_csgo_v2.bsp/file
  2. Just talk about what is on your mind, as long as it is off topic. You cannot reference other posts here, or any replies here. This is for off topic discussion only.

  4. I can fix the boats on Monday, but I'm not quite sure what the problem is with the water. I'll have a look into that. For now, the plan is to just get rid of a boat or both boats since they seem to be too easy to cheese a round with unless you guys still want the boats around.

  11. That's the point of keeping RTV around, so people can play maps they want to and skip ones that they don't. If the players aren't having a fun time on the map they are playing or don't want to play the next map in the rotation, then they can RTV all the same and play something else. And the server still does occasionally vote for maps like apehouse anyways when the server is full, or the reverse when the server is empty. This just helps to get more maps played that aren't always seen.
  12. So I asked a few AT's and they thought it wasn't a bad idea, and I figure it would be up to community support at this point (and whenever the tech team gets done with their forum party we are so patiently waiting for). Basically, the servers tend to play the same four or so maps and then a few other random secondary favorites and then the server repeats from the beginning. This is made more obvious when the server crashes and they restart with ttt_highschool, and then they play the same four maps in a row. So an idea I had to get a few more maps played is this: First, change the default map from ttt_highschool to something else, because this map is quite played out. I think ttt_dolls, ttt_minecraftcity, or ttt_skyscraper_2017 would be best. Next, the server would then run a fixed rotation that the AT's would set up. Alphabetical order, custom set order, whatever. This would control how the server goes from map to map. Then, so the people who don't want to play these maps and go back to the usual maps, they can RTV and then play the maps that they nominate. If there are no nominated maps before the RTV starts, then the maps are randomly placed like they are now. If maps are nominated and the game ends with no RTV, then they don't get to vote, and go to the next map set for rotation. At this point if they are on their RTV map and the game ends, the server continues from the point in the rotation that it was last at with the RTV map removed until 6 or so maps are played, to which point it can be played again and is inserted back into the rotation. If multiple maps in a row are RTV'd then it still continues from the last time the rotation was happening, and the maps that were played count towards the map cooldown. My reasoning behind this is to play some of the less played maps on the server without forcing players to stop playing the maps they want to. I think players would be less likely to RTV every round to play their favorite maps and would be more willing to just play the next map in the rotation. Obviously it is a lot easier to just type this out and I have no experience with CSGO plugins, but I think something like this would be extremely beneficial in making the server less stale. @Im Sad @DML @Ned @Charliere @Takuto @TheZZL thoughts? If there is any confusion about this then please ask and I'd love to clarify since a wall of text can get a little twisty.
  13. This is really good, and you put a lot of effort into this. I am enjoying it a lot!

  16. CT/T time stats are not accurate at all. I have nearly 15 days accounted for on TTT by their cumulative metrics, but adding the CT and T time only gives about 6 days. There is no way I have spent 10 days worth of time loading/picking teams/spectating.
  17. Seems fun but I don't get why you guys make more than half the limited time event skins available to supporters/admins only. They only get to use them for the month, why not let everyone get them?
  18. The only thing that TTT needs is an actual working karma system, but that isn't going to happen until the tech team is done with the new forums. For JB, I'm sure the same would apply and they probably aren't going to invest that time to make a plugin or find one for something that a simple player complaint on the forums would solve.

  20. Not sure if this has been brought up at a meeting before but I've heard some things from Ned. I think it would be a great idea to use the Danger Zone melee weapons rather than the knife. This helps new players understand that the melee weapon doesn't act like a knife would, and would help a lot with the golden knife confusion. G-Mod had a sorta indirect way of telling you someone had a knife by using a different animation than the Crowbar. This is gone in CSGO since the melee animations are all the same; now if we can use a different weapon that has a different profile than a knife people won't be so hesitant to shoot someone who is charging them with a golden knife. The Axe sticks out the most I believe, but I think the Crescent Wrench or Hammer would make the most sense as to why the knife only does 25 damage rather than the normal.
  21. These changes should last as long as the ones you have in there. The only difference between the 2060 and the 2070's future-proofing is that the 2070 has 2 more GB of VRAM which means that when games start using that much in 3-5 years you'll see much lower frame rates but that would be about the time would be when you would want to upgrade anyways. The 9700k generally performs better than the 2700x but the 2700x should still last you 5 years since it has 8 cores and 16 threads. For the lower price you will sacrifice performance and that is expected. If games ever do need that much and they likely won't for the time being, your choice here really doesn't matter too much. Either this or the 9700k can be overclocked, I figured that since you had the 9700k you wanted an OCable CPU but I forgot that this generation of Intel CPUs don't have a base 9700 version. They both have out-of-the-box clock boosts you can turn on in BIOS if you ever do get interested in it.
  22. The 2070 is overpriced for what it is: a slightly better 2060. If you want to save a bit of money you can get a good 2060 for 350-375 USD (depending on availability near you). The 2060 is good enough for 1080p/1440p and high frame rates. You can watch some benchmark videos and see for yourself, the 2070's in-game performance is only about 15% better on average than a 2060, which is pretty bad for this generation. A Ryzen 2700x is also something that you can swap in for that overclock ability and to save some money. You still get the multi-threading and a nice cooler that comes with it. You will have to get a different motherboard since it is AMD, but that will cost the same as an Intel board.
