  1. Milk contains hormones which cause me to break out ): so no
  2. Good evening everyone, Today we have some fantastic promotions to announce! Please play this soundtrack in the background to go along with this exciting thread: . To start off these promotions, could we please get a round of applause for our newest Events Team members Poke and drippy! These two gentlemen have been bringing quite a lot of excitement to our community and we're excited to see them continue bringing hype into our community in their new role. *applause* Next on our list, some new Community Advisors! With SG moving swiftly with new projects we need a team of bright individuals with fresh ideas, and who better to add than Arctic and benzene! We've seen a lot of promise out of these two individuals as admins, and we're excited to see what they'll bring to the table as our newest CAs. *applause* With so many talented community advisors on the team, we'd also like to introduce a new Lead Advisor to the team to steer the CA ship in the right direction. It was a tough decision given the hard-working individuals already in the rank, but with this person's experience and skillset as a cool-headed leader, we're confident that they'll do well as LA. Kieran will be co-managing the CAs with Gentoo! *applause* Lastly, the moment you've all been waiting for. Our newest Internal Affairs member has been hard at work for months now spearheading multiple efforts within the community and proving himself to be a hard worker and critical thinker. Please welcome Trazz as your newest Internal Affairs member! *applause* Congratulations everyone! We're always looking to bring people onto our teams - take a look at our positions here.
  3. join my team for sgsl?

  4. Congratulations!!
  5. Been a long time in this community and I'm happy to have made it this far. I wouldn't be here without the support of everyone in the community to give me critical feedback which improved me as a member of this community as well as made me a better person IRL. I've learned so much stuff over the ~5 years I've been here. I still remember last year when I was two months into A and wanted to ask for an early promotion to SA so I could apply for CA. I reached out to @Nishok about whether or not I should bother asking, and he gave me one piece of advice: "you never know unless you ask". So I did, and I got turned down LOL. But this piece of advice was actually really key in getting me through the ranks as time went on. I applied for CA and got it, AT 3 months later, IA 4 months later, and 3 months later: BD. The worst thing someone can say is "no", but the best thing they can say besides "yes" is "no, but here's what you can improve to turn that into a yes". Feedback is so important so that you can spend your time in staff growing as opposed to blindly trying to reach a position you want so you can enact the change you want to see. It's why I reached out to CAs and ATs as AM with feedback, and why my door is still open anytime anyone in the community wants to talk about their path in SG and what they hope to accomplish. A few mentions as well. @eXtr3m3 and @Dominic , you guys are real ones. Since day 1 of CA (and even A/SA) both of you had my back by nudging me in the right direction and not being afraid to give feedback when I need it. Even though I'm BD now I'm still looking to both of you for advice and opinions . @idealist , you and I never got along well at the start but as time went on I think both of us grew respect for one another which I've grown to appreciate. Even today you didn't hesitate to share your opinion on something. I don't think we'll ever agree on everything, but your harsh (but often true) criticisms have been a major factor in getting me to where and who I am today. @Nishok and @Liam Brown, both of you gave me a shot at TT and offered great advice even when I asked dumb questions. Enabling me to contribute in the way I know best (front-end) has helped me avoid burnout and given me something to toy on in my spare time. Hope to see our latest endeavours come to fruition soon ;). I definitely missed a ton of people above, but you guys and gals know who you are. My last piece of advice: Caution said many years ago in some fossilized forum post that many people look at BDs and think they can do a better job. It's just one of the things that comes with a leadership position and is unavoidable. But what is avoidable is how you use that feedback or opinion you have. I talked about my door always being open above, and I mean it. I or the Board might make a decision you're not happy with and that's fine, but let us know!!! At the end of the day we're in this community together, and a community only works if we're open with one another. Thanks y'all EDIT: Also wanted to do a quick shoutout to @Gator . Miss us staying up for hours working on [REDACTED] . Thanks for your honest advice hope everything's well on your end.
  6. Congratulations everyone!
  7. I use air cooling because I can't sleep at night knowing there might be liquids leaking onto my PC parts.
  8. !calladmin

Retakes and ZE are done per @Cept For Her
  9. Congratulations to everyone on your new roles! A special congratulations to @Polarzz . Fuck man, you've been consistent since Day 1 of when I was promoted to AT and worked with you as a fellow manager. Your consistency as a pillar of ZE has always had my respect and I'm happy to see you step up into IA. Glad to have you on the team and have your input on the decisions and discussions.
  10. Hi, to my knowledge we are unable to link identities.
  11. Hi, we have community rules which apply to all servers and server-specific rules. In the server section here: https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=527 Click on the server you want to see the rules of, and click on the appropriate rules thread.
  12. Mercy and Great White
  13. Hello, I've updated the JB ATs with the updated maps for both canyondam and dojo, thanks you boys!
  14. Internal Affairs should stay as Internal Affairs
  15. This isn't viable because we use the GOTV bot to record demos of players banned by SMAC, and unfortunately GOTV can't record two demos at once. Will be marking this as rejected as a result of this, but feel free to continue discussing... perhaps there's a solution we haven't thought of.
  16. From what I understand this move is not aimed to benefit established members of the community who enjoy Teamspeak, but moreso to benefit existing players on the server who want an easy way to join our community
  17. Have you read through the thread and read the clarifying questions asked and answers given? (:
  18. I'm starting to see where you're coming from and I like the idea as long as: 1. Players are still expected to record video from the demos and upload videos to the player complaint as per the norm 2. Voice and text chat are able to be included in the demo. This introduces more use cases than just hacking. I'll dig into #2 and get back to this suggestion sometime this weekend. Feel free to ping me if I haven't replied yet. @Nishok @Liam Brown do you have any comments on this as well as the feasibility of this idea?
  19. Interesting proposal of asking people to record video of the demos and upload them to the complaint to save work on the CAs' side. Some more concerns: 1. Are we realistically expecting many people to download the demo, save it to their CS:GO directory, skip through the 30+ minutes laggy demo with CS:GO's poor demo system, record a video and upload it? I doubt many people will which already makes this concept unappealing... 2. The only situation where comms context isn't required is likely hacking, but hackers for the most part are caught by SMAC already. So while this concept may work I don't think it will be too helpful tbh. Lots of effort for an extremely limited use case.
  20. IMHO it's impractical for a few reasons: 1. The TMs would have to expose part of the FTP directory to the general public or set up the bot to save the demos somewhere on the FTP where people can access it. 2. Storage space required for these demos would mean the demos would need to be wiped in days, if not hours. 3. If demos are available players are no longer required to record video evidence. Especially given the fact that loading up a demo and skipping through it with CS:GO's shitty demo review system would increase the time required to review evidence exponentially, CAs would need to spend far longer doing player complaints. This means a lot more work from the CAs is required to properly address player complaints. 4. I can imagine a significant increase in player complaints for petty issues now that the "work" of uploading a video is removed. 5. Demos leave out a crucial part of context: voice and text comms. This is context which is required for the vast majority of situations on JB and TTT.
  21. Infrastructure admins likely have different use cases for hard drives than the traditional consumer... I've also heard rumors of Seagate drives dying relatively quickly whereas WD is fairly reliable. In any case I actually agree with the sentiment that cloud storage is a great option for long-term storage as long as you're not storing your social security number or anything sensitive on there. I use Dropbox and Google Drive for long-term photo storage for example. I probably won't ever buy another HDD again given how cheap SSDs are getting.
  22. Yes that's right haha https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/forms.php?do=form&fid=56 Thanks
  23. This was brought up in the past and rather than get technical with the rules we should just let the plugin determine when an LR starts or ends. We have a new LR plugin in the works so we'll see if this reworked plugin can be relied on for this purpose.
