  1. I haven't given the suggestion much thought in terms of how it'd play out, but I think it's a pretty smart idea. I don't think we should go around changing stuff just because the Ts have a big advantage right now, but I'd agree that they do. A lot of our maps have a ~80/20 (T/CT) win ratio and I think that's a little too one sided. I think it can use some more balancing, whether or not something like this would be a good route to take in doing that is up for discussion.
  2. 3/11/19 In an attempt to give CTs an advantage and balance the server out a bit more, we have set the default CT health to 110 as opposed to 100. You can also heal back up to 110 health in medic. This makes it so CTs can still be knifed using the "left left right" combination but also have a bit of extra health to spare when it comes to gunfights. Thank you to @BoTo for the plugin. Feel free to give any feedback on the forums.
  3. 3/10/19 - Added Jailbreak MOTD that appears upon connect which shows relevant rules, information and commands. (Special thanks to @Agent Wesker, @Noctember and @roux for the help with that) - Posted JB Feedback thread regarding forced death-games, please post here if you haven't. - Added jb_prison_architect_v1 to the map rotation.
  4. JB Feedback - Forced Death-Games Hello everyone, recently we added forced death-games to the server which was a pretty big change considering our server has never really had them. I really liked the way we implemented them and I feel we got it to a good point where it wasn't immediately abused. From what I've heard, most people have liked how they've been used and at what frequency. However, I think we should try to get it to a better middle point where they're used a bit more often but still don't completely impede on how our server operates. This is my personal opinion, and I'm going to lay out some possible changes, but you guys can also use this thread to voice your opinions on death-games themselves. Feel free to openly disagree with death-games being on the server at all. This thread is for everything related to them, not just the possible changes. I want to know if you guys want them off completely, want some changes made, or want to keep them like they are and why. Your opinions as people who play the server are highly valued and I'd like to hear from everyone to know what the general population wants. Here are some possible changes to increase frequency of death-games. This is not finalized because this will still be discussed with CA+, but here is a starting point to get the discussion going: -Change "CTs cannot force a death-game when there are 6 or less Ts alive." to "CTs cannot force a death-game when there are 4 or less Ts alive." -Change "CTs cannot force a death-game before the clock hits 2:00." to "CTs cannot force a death-game before the clock hits 2:30." Please post any feedback you have regarding death-games and these proposals.
  5. We currently have the plugin on the server that blocks people from playing CT until they've played for 25 minutes. People have come forward about increasing it in the past, but there's been no compelling arguments for doing so. In my opinion, it'll just drive people away. I'm not saying it's off the table though, I'll entertain arguments. However, 6-10 hours is completely off the table and I wouldn't even consider that at all. 2 hours is the maximum I would ever go if people really pushed for it and made valid points for doing it.
  6. Map looks really cool, the gameplay is great and it has a lot of activities. It's a good sized map for the size of our server. It also seems a bit more CT friendly and they might be able to win a bit more just based on a bit of testing and I actually like that about it. Added, thanks for the suggestion.
  7. The map looks really cool, but it crashes the server unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  8. The only immediate flaw for not adding this is how small it is. It won't be fitting for the 50 potential people we can have on at once. We're going to keep this in the reserves though, could be good for an event.
  9. The map is quite nice looking and I feel as though it fits the server's play style very well. However, there is a problem where if anyone has their flashlight (F) enabled, the textures mess up very badly. I'd be willing to entertain it at a later time if this were fixed. For now though, I'm going to mark this as rejected.
  10. Nice looking stream, i'll make sure i tune in when i get the chance and follow.
  11. H4wKEye has been banned for two days for consistently making useless posts.
  12. Sorry about the delay on this. This'll be done tomorrow.
  13. So it seems there's a bit of disagreement with my initial thoughts, so I'm going to present this argument for why it should be KOS and leave this open for disagreement: The entire building is KOS, so I'd say just based off that alone the roof should be too. However, you can get up there two ways. One, you go through the building, making you KOS. Or you jump from the top of main cell. But once you drop from on top of main cell, the only reason you would have for being up there is to go into the KOS building. I'd say it should be KOS, any differing opinions?
  14. I'm just pointing out the flaw behind the logic some people are using here and saying there's potential pros to having a server. I didn't dive into the cons and general problems with it. Who's going to pay for it? Who's going to run it? What type of server is it? Is the plan to bring in new people or just get a server for SG players? Questions like that are still completely worth asking before considering something like this, I was just mainly picking something out of this thread that I wanted to comment on.
  15. I just want to comment about how many times Minecraft has been tried out. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but it's my opinion on the attempts. I wasn't around for the first time, but I've been here for 2-3 tries at getting a server going. Each time the people "managing" the server seem to go in half-cocked and don't really go out of their way to engage with the community, get feedback and improve it. They've been sloppy, have been released before being fully fleshed out and seemed more like personal projects rather than community servers. There was no supervision and it was just "sponsored" in a way by the higher ups. Additionally, it's been gamemodes that can get boring very easily and don't offer many new things to do. Eventually if you play vanilla Minecraft for long enough you'll have done everything whereas with something like Factions, you get raided and have to start again. I think putting it off because of it's multiple attempts is silly if you actually analyze the attempts and the effort. Minecraft is still a huge game and it could bring current members closer to the community or even start to reach beyond our current community if players invite more players.
  16. 3/4/19 - CT Bans is back on the server. Admins can CT ban people in place of regular bans in cases of freekilling, gunplanting, etc. Multiple CT bans will obviously eventually end up with a more severe punishment. You guys can also appeal these in the appeal bans section. Please report any bugs you encounter in the this thread.

  19. So for starters, the whole point of the rule change is that there is another potential reason for being up there. The catwalk also leads down into pool. There's a little area down there that has the end of the catwalk and a door into the pool area. That makes two purposes that the catwalk serves. If the only way it could be used was to get to armory, there could be an argument made. Secondly, I'm not really going to entertain a comparison to real life prison to be honest. Would actual prisoners in an actual prison spawn with knives in their hands? I don't really see the argument here either. As for the "making it harder for CTs thing", while I don't want to make unnecessary changes to make it harder on the CTs, that was a necessary change where the mindset that everyone was using was wrong and it had to be clarified. I'm not going to slowly reshape the entire server's ruleset with the intention of making it easy for CTs. As for the ladder thing. The ladder that connects armory catwalk to main cell floor is KOS, but the main cell floor obviously isn't. The same way the ladder that connects pool catwalk to armory catwalk is KOS, but the pool catwalk itself isn't. Comparing it to a set of stairs is a different case. The stairs and the catwalk are all one structure and are connected. The pool catwalk and armory catwalk aren't actually connected at all. IIRC there was actually never an official ruling on the pool catwalk, just a mindset everyone followed and no one ever questioned.

  25. Hello everyone, I'd like to address an issue that has come up recently. Proof of someone's action doesn't only come in the form of directly seeing someone do something. A CT can use logic to determine how they handle a situation and who they kill. Just because you can't see the logic behind why you were killed, doesn't mean there isn't any. It relates to TTT in that sense, someone might have a reason for killing you even if they didn't blatantly see you gun some guy down. It isn't "he saw me do it" or "he didn't see me do it", there is an in between there where people can use common sense to go about handling a situation. Here's a situation for reference: You're a CT and you're running in main cell at the beginning of the round while cells are closed. You know there's only one USP spawn in the top right cell. You're not facing the cells, but you get shot a few times with a USP. So you didn't see the person shoot you, but you can use common sense to kill the guy with the USP. Please PM any of the managers or make a new thread with any questions regarding this.
