  1. Hey there, me again, We're bringing on a couple more new faces to the Administrative Officer team. We're pleased to announce that Roddy and ThatTamer will be joining us! Both of these guys are stellar admins and we think they're going to perform greatly in their new roles. Congrats gentlemen!
  2. Kofi has been permanently banned for 'general unwanted behavior'. If you're curious as to what type of behavior I'm referring to, it mostly consists of coming on Prison Break and acting in the most detrimental way to the game that he possibly can without officially 'breaking a rule'. News flash - I don't give a fuck if it's written in the rules. If you're a detriment to the community or the server, you'll be banned. Kofi consistently kills the population of Prison Break and when I was told today about him doing it again, I considered being lenient and giving him a month off. However, after further research into him - there is literally not a single drop of positive sentiment about him that has ever been shared. There are 62 results in the staff Discord with his name and all of them are about him breaking rules, being an extreme nuisance for the admins, and overall being a terrible contributor to this community - spanning 3 years. You may recall most recently that he made an admin application using ChatGPT, and prior to that he was also permanently banned off of our Discord for posting racist content. There is absolutely no situation where I allow him back into the community while I'm here, this is clearly a long time coming and it's obvious that it was simply a matter of no one catching on.
  3. Hey everyone, Just wanted to quickly announce a couple promotions to Administrative Officer. We have someone returning to the rank in 3ni, and a new guy coming up the ranks in Reflex. They'll be helping us out with Bhop and Prison Break respectively, and possibly some other stuff as well. We're looking forward to working with them and seeing what they bring to the table. Congrats gents.
  4. In case anyone thinks Caution is exaggerating about these people genuinely not believing they did anything wrong, or them thinking there needs to be a specific rule they're breaking in order for us to punish them. Both of the people above have been apart of Internal Affairs in the past by the way. If this were brought to them back then, they'd undoubtedly agree with the rest of the AO / BD team and say it's a dumb argument. That is NOT how things work, have ever worked, or will ever work. We do what's in the best interest of the community. We're not gonna watch you call a guy a retard that just joined the Discord and go 'oh.. well.. I guess it's not against the rules!' - that is not how the real world works, that is not how SG works. And for the sake of transparency, my response to Poke's message was 'I don't give a flying fuck', because at this point I genuinely can't tell if they're just trying to get a rise out of us or if they've actually convinced themselves that what they're saying has merit. I just wanna work on game servers and maintain my community man. Please go find something else to entertain yourselves with.
  5. Were you really at Steam-Gamers if you didn't get a little ban? Glad to hear you're doing well though homie. Thinking about switching back to cyber security for my major but I'm not sure that I'm cut out for it. You're gonna do super well for yourself though bro, good for you.
  6. y'all just need to zoom in bro
  7. But it was funny though right guys And you're not gonna find 'em on Google
  8. Hogwarts Legacy

Was talking to @Caution about it the other night actually, I kinda rushed the game and ended up finishing it with tons of side quests and shit left to go. So now it sort of feels like a chore and I gotta go collect all those fucking field guide pages and shit before I can even continue the main quests because I'm such a low level. Overall though I love the game immensely. I'm a Harry Potter nerd and it was everything I could've hoped it to be really.
  9. Hey everyone, Just want to quickly announce a new promotion. We've brought back @Karma to Administrative Officer to help us out with the Bhop server! Karma is an old server manager with plenty of experience managing servers and specifically lots of experience with Bhop. We're excited to have him on board and look forward to seeing what he brings to the table. Congrats!
  10. BoM... a tale as old as time.. or as old as him. (get it because he's old) Let's go back in time. When BoM first returned to the community 3 years ago, he skyrocketed up the ranks. Largely due to me arguing for it each and every time.. him to CA, him to Marketing Manager and IA, him to lead IA, and then when I resigned from BD one of my last messages was that I thought BoM should replace me. I was continuously reminded of his past, where he was demoted from AO for being disrespectful and left in a fit of rage.. seemingly identical to the way he left a year ago. A year ago I reached out to BoM and offered my help as an AO for Jailbreak. He spent weeks in my DMs acting like my best friend, ranting about the Board and claiming that Black Rain was the one holding my promotion back. Fast forward some time, and Caution offers me an AO spot in a public Jailbreak thread. I was confused by this, so I DM'd him and told him I had reached out to his Board weeks ago and offered my help. Turns out, BoM resigned because he was extremely adamant that I not come back as AO, and threw a hissy fit towards Caution. From the BD channel. Caution's DM to BoM. Since then, BoM has done nothing but act like a bitter ex-girlfriend (a childish bitter ex-girlfriend) and trash talk the community both privately and publicly. Recently, a member made a post about missing the community to which BoM responded 'Holy shit I don't care'. As an LG, and honestly just as a normal community member.. that's weird as fuck. With BoM's past attitude we decided it was best to just remove him from the role, given he was a previous BD as well and a warning didn't seem called for. He then sent Hawks a mile long message about the demotion, to which he ended with this: However, these two items were from today: So if the 5 paragraphs he wrote before that quote wasn't enough for us to infer it on our own, it's pretty obvious from this that he's not 'rather done with this place' and that jumping on that one line satirical post wasn't a good enough way to keep him away. Banning him will, legitimately, be no skin off of our backs though.. because the most BoM ever did for this place was use the forums as writing practice for the novels I'm sure he'll be writing after he loses his job when his boss discovers 90% of his screen time is spent prowling on the Steam-Gamers forum typing big mean messages that we cry about at night. BoM is not the first overgrown child to develop a massive, everlasting hate boner for me, a teenage child on the internet - so this is not my first rodeo. I truly wish BoM all the best, and I hope things start looking up for him in life and that he develops some sort of hobby or acquires some semblance of a friend group to spend his days with and that soon enough SG will be a distant memory for him. Steam-Gamers has done all it can for you, old man. Good luck with everything.
  11. Dude, congrats on getting married, that's awesome. And thanks for checking in, always nice seeing your name pop up here and there. Caution put it pretty perfectly, honestly, but I can try to put something into my own words and maybe add a bit more on the off chance that it brings anyone any higher degree of comfort. But yeah, the biggest thing is that we have a lot going for us. I think the problem for the better half of a year or two prior to me returning (and Revenga, cause we funnily enough came back at pretty much the same time) was that I saw everyone in a state of panic as they reminisced on the glory days. Yes, SG was a lot bigger at one point, but it was also a lot smaller. Yes, SG used to bring in a lot more revenue, but it also used to be in danger of shutting down. I find my thinking on a daily basis to be that the community is at a middle ground at this point, while progress may have been lost, we're not in the dark ages. Things are actually going pretty well, again, all things considered. It's coming up on a year since I first returned to staff and I can confidently say that at that point, we had no players in any of our servers for days on end. Now, we're seeing massive numbers on Surf, a consistent population on Bhop, our Retakes servers filling up, GMod TTT pulling numbers, 1v1 has randomly spiked a few times now, and Prison Break had a crazy stint for a few weeks of 20+ players day after day. It may not be producing a 'community' so to speak because onboarding people in general is insanely difficult and CS:GO doesn't make it any easier for communities, but it's better than where we were at. It's also not as if we've seen no results at all. We've brought back a few admins, brought in a few new admins, seen some rejuvenation in the Discord and forums.. so on and so forth, so it's doing us some good. With CS:GO still being a massive game and CS2 still seemingly on the horizon, and with SG not being in any danger whatsoever of shutting down.. we really have nothing but time. Time could produce a miracle as it sort of already did with the 'fixed server browser' that brought an influx of players, but it also gives us the time to further develop the community into something people want to come back to, as Caution said. The Board is very active, yes, but we also do get busy and burnt here and there and that sometimes causes setbacks (like the last week or so has been one of those times), but that's been the case with every higher-up team I've encountered here. We've made far too much progress in every aspect for me to be disappointed about that, honestly. It just doesn't worry me. We're still dumping a lot of time into this place. Overall, kind of returning to the roots and focusing on the servers instead of stuff like internal affairs or marketing and whatnot. We're pretty much back there now. We may open one or two more servers but I think we're pretty much done axing stuff and then we can sit back and chill and just play and work on the servers instead of all of the other tedious stuff. There's still stuff that needs tending to like the Discord but other than that we're pretty much good to go. I quite honestly foresee a lot of success once we're nice and settled with pushing out everything we're pushing out (we just opened 3 new servers, and one more is on the way already) and then the main focus is just on building the community and onboarding people into Supporter and admin ranks. Thanks for the post, was probably a good idea for us to come out and say something about recent events anyway. We may hold a staff / community meeting soon too in case anyone doesn't wanna put their thoughts into a post, but I implore everyone to post here if they have anything to say.
  12. Hey everyone, Most of you have seen that this server has been live for some time, but I wanted to officially announce it's release. We're happy to be bringing back KZ Climb! It currently features maps from Tier 1-3 and is using the KZTimer plugin. KZ Climb is honestly not a super fruitful market on CS:GO nowadays however we're hoping to establish some level of community within the server, despite how small it may be. I need to give a huge shoutout to @BoTo for getting this all set up, he configured essentially all of it and dumped a lot of time into it, and he was just too humble to make this post lol. Make sure to add the server to your favorites! kz.steam-gamers.net OR climb.steam-gamers.net OR 135.148.3.9:27015 Our rank system is as follows, with map completions earning you 15 points and time improvements earning you 5 points. You can view this list using !ranks and all the commands the plugin features using !help. Unranked, Newbie (152p), Beginner (3939p), Regular (15150p), Impressive (22725p), Experienced (36360p), Fantastic (54541p), Elite (90900p), Legendary (121200p) Hop on and let us know what you think!
  13. I joined the servers right after turning 12, first played Jailbreak in September of 2015 so like a month after my birthday. Joined the forums a few months later.
  14. Chad and Janitor are permanently banned.
  15. 6/8/2023 - I'm not gonna regurgitate all the changes we made, but it was essentially us reverting everything every manager has done for the past 7 or 8 years lol. It seems to be working pretty well but we're considering adding a few things back because they're just convenient. Read all the changes here: - Changed map times from 25 minutes to 20 minutes
  16. Shot for shot? Gun toss? Jerk off contest? Whatever your little heart desires.
  17. Thanks for pointing this out! It should be all up to date now, feel free to let me know if I missed anything.
  18. Prison Break: Uprising is a roleplay server where Guards (Counter-Terrorists) give orders to Prisoners (Terrorists). Guards cannot harm them if orders are being followed and the Prisoners are not rebelling. Guards must give warnings before killing Prisoners unless the crime is severe. Will the orders be followed, or will the inmates take control of the prison? General Server Rules: • Respect all admins and players alike. • No spamming of any kind (voice, chat, or skins). • No racism, homophobia, or bigotry of any kind. • Do not have confusing names or names that can't be pronounced, subject to admin discretion (includes invisible & foreign characters). • No advertising other servers, clans, or websites. • Do not evade or avoid punishment. • No hacking/scripting. This includes hyperscrolling, aimbot, wallhacks etc.. • No ghosting (this includes stream sniping). • No teamkilling in any form (applies to both CT and T). • No exploiting. This includes retrying, glitching out of the map, etc. • Do not abuse the !calladmin command by reporting players for fake reasons. • Do not point farm (hotkeying, afking, scripting) while afk or not playing.
  19. Hey everyone, So Caution and I have taken control of the Jailbreak server. For starters, we're referring to it as 'Prison Break: Uprising' from here on out. In the past, there was always various names for the gamemode. The debate between Jailbreak and Prison Break is historic, but there was also additional words like 'uprising' or 'mutiny'. In the spirit of the massive change that I'm about to outline, we also saw fit to change the name. So we're now the #1 'Prison Break: Uprising' server in the world. Our vision for it currently is to pretty much return to the old days. A barebones, small scale server that doesn't rely too heavily on plugins and addons. This was essentially the type of manager Caution was back in 2008-2013, and was the type of server I was introduced to when I first joined Steam-Gamers in 2015. Our goal is to slowly build the population up again, and act accordingly based on that. Currently, majority of these rules and plugins are just a little much and it makes it hard for random people to integrate themselves into the server. Soooo let's start with all the plugins we disabled: - AFK Manager - Jihads - Gangs - CT Buy Menu - First Order - CT Health Boost - Repeat Order Command - CT Vote Mute - !buddy command - Last Request - CT Ranks - CT Lockout - CT Markers - Ratio Control We may end up disabling more, or re-enabling some of them. Again, we're just going with the flow and we're gonna see what happens. Most of this is generally unneeded but there may be merit in some of it. We'll assess as we go. But for reference, not a single thing on this list existed when I first joined, aside from jihads. Generally jihads are pretty underused and also.. don't make a lot of sense. So I don't think they'll really be missed outside of nostalgic reasons. Onto the rules, which is the big one here. We think 80% of the rules were pretty much pointless. Definitions of common terms are cool, but not a necessity. LR rules and Deathgame rules are good to have, but not fully needed. Every rule that is needed is covered in our description of the gamemode in the MOTD. It may seem bizarre, but I promise you if you think on it, it's generally covered by that description. And here's the deal: admins are just going to handle bullshit. We don't need a rule that guards can't obstruct a prisoner's ability to follow orders, the admins are just going to slay and move you if you're being an idiot. But, again, it's something we're going to play by ear. If we need more rules, we'll add them. But the goal is for people to be able to get into the server and not be confused as shit as to what's going on. No one, and I mean no one, wants to read that long ass list of rules that we had before. It's definitely just not helping our case. This leads us into our next point, which is the map list. People being confused about the map, where to go, how to lead prisoners, etc. does not help our case. So, here's your new map list: - ba_jail_electric_razor_go_pb - jb_clouds_pg - jb_lego_jail_2k17_hd - jb_spy_vs_spy_beta7-2 - jb_summer_jail_hdr_fix Again, we will play it by ear. Maybe we'll add more maps, or maybe we'll do 24/7 Razor. I promise you it's not unheard of - Hells Gamers ran a very successful Jailbreak server that was strictly Razor, all the time. There's a lot of benefits to a smaller map list, especially with them being popular and simple. And with that, our last 'big' change is dropping the server to 24 slots. This is the slot count when I first joined way back when, and it's kind of hard to justify anything higher given our server statistics for the past year or so. We'll assess as we go and increase if need be. Which is essentially how ALL of this is going to go - we'll assess and see what works as we go. This may seem outlandish and bizarre, but it really can't get much worse than what it is now, so there's essentially no harm to any of it. We hope you guys will assimilate to this new style of play, but also that other players will be able to more easily get involved. Thanks guys.
  20. With that, here's an updated list of our server management roster. We know it might be a little confusing to understand who manages what currently, and while we look to rectify that in terms of where they're listed, here's the new list. CS:GO Jailbreak - Caution and Dominic CS:GO Surf - Caido and triou CS:GO Bhop - Pyro Looga and Zero Two CS:GO 1v1 - Caido and kabLe CS:GO AWP DM - kabLe and triou CS:GO KZ - Pyro Looga and Zero Two CS:GO Retakes - Zero Two ----- GMod TTT - Huwajux and Elfbarf CS:S GunGame - Revenga Insurgency - Zero Two
  21. Hey everyone, We want to give you all a quick community update, as it's been a while since we've addressed things. Let's start with the servers, specifically how we're using the space we have on our box. As I'm sure some of you noticed already, we've scrapped a number of servers. I'm going to give you specifics as to what was removed and a small briefing as to why. - CS:GO TTT - CS:GO TTT Test - CS:GO Scrim - CS:GO 1v1 - TF2 Casual Alternative - SCP - TeamSpeak So any of the stuff that was already released and established we've now scrapped because we felt as though we've exhausted all efforts and don't see a future for them. Namely CS:GO TTT, Scrim, TF2, and SCP. These servers could potentially return in the future, but as it stands we think our time and energy is better spent elsewhere. TeamSpeak is also gone, its resurrection was nice to see but its usefulness was short lived. As for 1v1, we just had to scrap it because it was so old and files were very messy, however that's being rebuilt. This frees up a hell of a lot of space for us to use, and we'll cover how we're using that. On that note, onto our future plans, but first to debrief on how our other servers are doing. We've been seeing a lot of success with some of them - namely Surf, Bhop, Retakes, and GMod TTT. It's fantastic to see, as Surf has been hitting insane numbers for weeks now, Bhop has been averaging some pretty decent numbers (10-15, I'd say), both Retakes servers have been frequently filling up, and thanks to @Elfbarf, @Huwajux and the rest of our staff, GMod TTT has risen quite high in the rankings. We want to expand on this success, and we believe the road to doing so is in movement / competitive servers. Currently in development, we have 1v1, AWP DM, and KZ. We believe these are extremely promising projects, with all three having a pretty established market of players to appeal to. There may be more projects following quickly behind these three, and we're always open to suggestions on what those should be. Combat Surf is a possibility that was explored, for instance. We're also not opposed to suggestions for other games, however CS:GO seems to be kicking into gear and with CS2 quickly on the way, we're probably looking to stick to it. It's safe to say all of this success may become even more fruitful once CS2 releases which is something to look forward to for sure. Otherwise, things are all looking up for the most part. We have some more things on the horizon regarding Discord, the forums are still in a decent state especially considering community forums are being effectively replaced by Discord altogether.. so we really don't have any concerns about anything. We'd like to start aiming to turn players into supporters, though money is still not a concern as @Caution is continuing to finance SG out of pocket. There's some things we have in mind for that though, and we'll most likely start using Discord's built in donation system once that releases to make it that much easier. On that same note, and just to give some shoutouts in general: thank you to @BoTo for implementing a new command on the servers (!sgperks), that's a considerably helpful addition so that players can see what it is they'll get by donating. And as always, a huge thank you to @Nishok for helping take down all of the servers and putting up our 3 new servers so that development can begin. And thank you to our entire server management team for running our current servers and developing our new ones, and our admins for keeping the servers clean as always. The Board is very happy with the state of our staff team in addition to everything else. Expect these new servers within the next week or two, as well as some other announcements and developments. We'll try to aim to have a community meeting to supplement whatever we end up putting into announcements but everything will be put into posts regardless of whether or not we get that scheduled. Thank you all for the support as always!
  22. Arctic and Jmcdon7 / The Don / Bondairy / Jmac / whatever you want to call him have both been banned permanently off all platforms for, essentially, the same reasons as the above two posts. We're completely over the constant trolling in our Discord and we'll keep proving how done with it we are if reasons to ban people keep getting thrown into our faces. The Board wants to make it clear that moving forward, punishments will be harsher for all malicious trolling - especially when it comes to Discord and especially if you have a history of mutes, kicks, bans, etc. We reserve the right to alter the way we handle these things on a whim, however currently we're leaning towards a no tolerance policy for this type of behavior.
  23. kable color my favorite juice
  24. Hey everyone, We'd like to announce our new ruling regarding racism / homophobia and the like: No racism, homophobia, or bigotry of any kind. We felt as though our rulings were a little convoluted and all over the place. For one, the rulings weren't consistent across all of our platforms / servers - we don't think that's necessary. This new rule applies to every platform of ours and every server - no exceptions. We believe it fully adjusts us to our world today and will make for a better atmosphere, and promotes the environment we want to strive for. Previously, racism rules in some areas were lax, while others weren't. And the word 'faggot' was banned outright, but it was buried in a thread from 2021 and that doesn't cover homophobia in general. We think this rule pretty much covers all of our bases, and allows us to remove the wordiness from our rules and cut the list down, as this applies to things like Steam names and clan tags inherently. This also automatically covers things like racial and homophobic slurs, insensitive jokes, and general unpleasant behavior - all subject to our admin's discretion. Thanks.
  25. You cross my mind all the time man, what I'd give to play one last game with you.. miss you bro.
