  1. Hey guys, Just wanted to drop in and let you know that @eXtr3m3 is now a Director. Thanks.
  2. I understand where you're coming from and appreciate you having the nerve to speak up, which is exactly why I gave my explicit permission for you to come at this publicly. However, it's not unfair to point out that you're missing copious amounts of information, factors, and motivations. Before I get into it deeper, here's the fact of the matter: decisions are never going to be uniform. There is absolutely zero way to look back on every appeal and make sure we're staying consistent with decisions. There's too many appeals, too many factors, and the biggest thing - every time there will be a different set of people making the decision, all with different opinions. I'll give you a for instance.. I was not involved in any appeals regarding Slothy. However, I was heavily involved with Steel's appeal and argued for him to be unbanned. If I wasn't involved, maybe there would've been no one who spoke up to argue for an unban, and it never would've happened. So it's all about the hand you get dealt, and unfortunately there is no way to be completely fair and objective in every case. We aren't the Supreme Court, we'll evaluate a situation to the best of our ability but we're not cross comparing cases and ensuring that proper justice is served or anything like that.. we're just making the most informed decisions we can in the moment. I'd also like to remind everyone about the precarious situation we're in with the state of the community. You and Arctic Wolf going on Jailbreak and populating it is extremely appreciated, see the benefits we've reaped from unbanning you? In the past, we may not have been so lenient because we weren't struggling as a whole. However now, we're taking chances on people, with good reason too. I was unbanned 6 months ago or so, after being permanently banned for 2 years. Here we are 6 months later, and I've been a Director of the community for 2 months already. So if they hadn't unbanned me, I wouldn't be sitting here typing this. At the end of the day, it's what we're comfortable doing. If someone continues to cause trouble, they'll be dealt with accordingly. Slothy is on an absolute last chance basis before he will be forced out of this community for an extremely long time.. the rest is up to him. And if it comes down to that, it takes us nothing more than 15 minutes to ban him, send a message to the staff team, and then post to the public. If he ends up turning himself around, we're left with a solid regular that plays the server and promotes a positive environment for months on end. If he doesn't we aren't losing much time or energy.
  3. Just a quick note, we've changed the store credit multiplier for Supporters from 8x to 2x, along with the raffle points per minute from 36/min down to 4/min. These numbers were insanely high given we had 3 tiers and initially brought everything down from the highest rank, but we're still adjusting to the new one tier system. Thanks guys.
  4. This thread ran its course, gonna lock it up now.
  5. Not exactly an introduction.. but it seemed like an enticing title. We'd like to introduce our new (not exactly) role: Supporter! The Board and our staff have been discussing the layout of our supporter system and how it fits into our current community structure. With the smaller player base and lower number of servers, we decided that having three tiers didn't make sense anymore. However, we've gone a step further and dropped it back down to one tier, similar to how it was pre-2016. Additionally, we've dropped the price by nearly half what it used to be prior to the addition of new tiers. Our new price is just a few bucks - $2.99! We dropped the price with the thought in mind that we need to account for there not being as many players around currently, with the added thought that we aren't exactly reliant on incoming funds, so there's no harm for us in making it more affordable. However, we'd greatly appreciate anyone who wants to sign up for instant monthly renewal and help SG out, a few bucks a month from a decent amount of people is more than enough for the time being. If anyone did have a constant subscription going, you'll need to renew it. So, this change obviously implies that any and all perks that were in any of the previous tiers have been combined into this one. As a Supporter, you'll have access to every donator perk we have available along with any new ones we think to introduce. This includes but is not limited to access to exclusive in-game player models, a wider array of in-game commands, increased store credit multiplier, various Discord perks such as creating private channels, and much more. We appreciate all of you who have been supporting the community up to this point, and those who choose to support it in the future! Our staff team is working to the best of their ability to ensure the survival and growth of this community. Lastly, I'd like to do a quick giveaway in honor of the unification of these donation tiers. So... let's say the first 5 people to directly message @Hawks on the forums and tell him he's too short will get a month of Supporter on me. Thanks everyone.
  6. Hello everyone, The Board has come to the decision to shut down MiniGames. After constant evaluation, we've concluded that it's in our best interest to, for the time being, not split our population in multiple directions and focus majority of our efforts on TTT and Jailbreak. We've been seeing some fantastic progress with TTT lately and it's garnering a steady population, so we're hopeful that this is the right move. Along with TTT and Jailbreak continuing to run and our efforts going towards them, the Surf, Bhop, Retakes, and Scrim servers will stay online as well. We're extremely content with this format, and the staff team we have behind them. We're looking forward to working with our server managers, our staff members, and our player base to continue progressing the servers further and working our way back up to where we once were. The removal of MiniGames is temporary; contingent on the progress we see with TTT and Jailbreak and whether or not we can get back to the point of them being self-sustainable. We foresee this happening in the near future. Thank you to everyone who contributed to MiniGames over the years, and for those of you who love the server, know this isn't the end. Additionally, thank you to everyone contributing to the success of the servers currently, we're very appreciative of it. The Board is putting their full effort and attention towards helping the servers succeed by way of playing and engaging with the community, and we're looking forward to continuing to work with our staff team and our dedicated players to help things progress. Thanks everyone.
  7. Hey everyone, This has actually been delayed quite heavily, but Gumline has been permanently banned. We were originally going to ban him a few weeks back, following his continuous poor behavior on our forums and our servers. However, the discussion concluded and after a few days passed, he had disappeared for a bit. We still had intentions to ban him, but that coupled with the entire Board becoming extremely busy all at once + the forum downtime, it never came to fruition. But he recently started up again in the Shoutbox and we've decided to pull the trigger on it. Gumline has an immense history here for those that don't know. He's been permanently banned twice previously, with many, many infractions along the way. I've personally been apart of way too many discussions to count about him, and despite it all, I think he's hilarious and fun to play with. However, his behavior (specifically in our Shoutbox) recently is terrible for the atmosphere we're trying to promote and does absolutely no good for us especially in the current state we're in. It's unfortunate that he has all of a sudden popped back up at SG with such a fiery hatred for the community and the Board, but he isn't a special case by any means. It is quite the fall from grace in comparison to the actual decent version of Gumline that used to administrate Jailbreak, but being bitter due to old age catches up to all of us. (and male pattern baldness)
  8. Congratulations guys!
  9. Are intelligent people less happy? I'm a huge fan of this question, however it's a super, super layered one with a lot of things to consider so I've never fully committed myself to answering it thoroughly despite having written about it multiple times. I fully believe it to be true though, I think extremely ignorant people are naturally happier than very intelligent and self-aware people. I may delve deeper into this later but I'm super curious to hear some of your responses.
  10. I'm choosing super speed any day of the week. Flash has always been my favorite hero and you'd be able to do a million different things with it. Teleportation would essentially be obsolete, you can time travel, so on and so forth.
  11. Hard question actually. Definitely not summer because it’s cool for a bit but then just annoyingly hot. Fall is probably my favorite because it’s a nice in between, because winter is also fun for a bit then it’s just annoyingly cold and the snow becomes bothersome.
  12. I also said this in the CA section, but just to be brutally clear.. Caution is the 100% greatest option as a President and it's really unfortunate that he isn't around. I don't think anyone would advocate for him being completely cut off from involvement, or to even relinquish ownership. I also don't think there's anyone who can really fill his shoes, but it's about quality vs. activity as it stands. I'd argue a switch in the presidency to someone more active that can show face around the community more is beneficial for various reasons, but a big one is that it'd probably instill hope in people. Caution isn't some tyrant who is refusing to give up power and he has toyed with the idea of giving it up, but just decided not to. I believe he said something about temporarily having some more time on his hands soon, but I hope if he foresees the trend continuing for a while that he'll consider it again. There's some good ol' transparency for you all.
  13. So obviously this thread is slightly dated at this point but I think it looks poor on us for threads to sit without a conclusion like this. I was gonna wrap it up, but people might want to respond after my post. All coming from a personal perspective here. I can tell you right now that Caution is not really active much. We don't see much from him behind the scenes and obviously that's because he's insanely busy IRL and is in an entirely different time zone. Not sure how much this justifies in everyone's heads, but I pretty much called on both him and Gator to resign in the CA section a few weeks back. I think it's fair to say Gator is showing massive improvement with activity and is probably one of the more active Board members actually. I don't think calling for a stand-in for Caution is unreasonable or a dated opinion though. Just like I said in the community meeting, he called on me to be promoted on the basis that I hold people accountable and I plan to stick to that. That also includes him, and I think I'd still support someone taking over the spot. The spot of President, not Owner lol. Our Board otherwise is pretty solid in terms of activity, though I did just address the fact that all we really need to be doing at this point is seeding the servers, and none of us are. And that includes me, but I also just wanted everyone to have the same sense of urgency I do. I also addressed the disorganization within the Board and we're working to get ourselves on the same page so we can work as a unit. The fact of the matter is that we have an insanely strong higher-up team, but with no where to aim the gun, the bullet is useless. I think once we figure out a clearer vision for where we want to go, things are really gonna start moving. As far as activity though, we're all pretty solid in that area. Our CA team is also pretty solid as far as activity goes. Pretty much all of them are involved in one way or another and they're all solid staff members. Same thing goes for AOs, we called everyone into question and they're being constantly assessed because of how integral their role is currently, and they're all doing well. With the admin team, we demoted a bunch of people (mostly Squad admins) for inactivity and warned a bunch of others. Additionally, we did demotions on the Events Team and Technical Team, and are still evaluating the entirety of the staff team as we speak. So as far as our staff team goes, we've done pretty well to trickle it down to the people who are still interested in SG and seeing it succeed. I hope this pretty much addresses it. Though these are my own personal opinions, I think it's a pretty accurate assessment of how things are going behind the scenes right now.
  14. I've moved this to the Suggestions Box and pinged everyone who is CA+ to respond here. We'll exercise complete transparency with this and discuss this start to finish publicly, with only extremely private details being restricted, if there is any. A big reason for this is to hear from all of you and give you all the opportunity to be more closely involved in our decision making and help us to realize any flaws prior to going through with it. Obviously me being me, I'm very intrigued at the idea of TF2 Jailbreak, and would love some further elaboration from you if possible. What's so difficult about implementing it, and is there much competition? And if there's little competition, is there a market for it to your knowledge? I'd also be curious to hear from anyone who has played both CS:GO and TF2 Jailbreak to list the major differences, including yourself. I think putting serious effort into the game can yield notable results, but I don't think we really did that to the best of our ability last time. My mindset is that if we dip our fingers into the game enough and gather some decent regulars that are TF2 inclined and move them up the ladder of our ranks, that'd be the best way to build a foundation there. And I think if we carry that mindset going in, we'll get what we want out of it.
  15. Real quick, thank you all for attending. Sitting at ~30 members in the audience for majority of the important stuff was fantastic to see. We greatly appreciate the feedback and topics that were brought up throughout, and we 100% recognize the people that were showing genuine interest in helping to make the gears turn, critiquing our weak points, and suggesting solutions for our current shortcomings. Shoutout to the people who stayed for my girl talk afterwards too. We hope to see you all at the next one. So obviously the notes for the meeting are incredibly vague and that's perfectly fine, but clearly there's some things that need addressing. Firstly, immediately after I post this I'm going to be locking this thread. This is in no way an attempt at getting the 'final word' - however, this is a community meeting thread and a bunch of random topics being discussed in it is not efficient in the slightest. I did make a thread about 'Current Focus / Direction', and I think there's value in creating threads addressing 'State of Staff Team' and 'Update on Current Projects', however I don't want to bombard or overwhelm the community with asking for feedback. I'm going to extremely briefly address the current projects because they were called into question, and also address some other topics. Firstly, SCP hasn't actually been online (meaning the server essentially hasn't been released) for some time now. There were apparently some serious problems with various components and it needed a complete rework. @Acer and @Nishok have been working on a rerelease and they've said it can be expected somewhat soon. If there are suggestions you all have for the server, or for its management once it's released, you're free to make posts in the section for it. GMod TTT is something I hinted at that I don't think has been officially stated elsewhere, and I did so because it promotes transparency between us and you guys and as I've been saying for some time now, helps you to not think we're doing absolutely nothing behind the scenes. Yes, it is in the works. I don't know what an ETA looks like, nor do I know if @Gator (who has been the one developing it) is interested in giving one. If there's too many factors at play to give an accurate ETA, it's probably better not to anyway. Once the server releases, as with SCP, suggestions and critique are welcome as always. 1v1 is purely intended as an MGT (Monthly Get Together for you new guys) as it currently stands. At no point was a full-blown server promised and I'm not sure that it will come to a point of turning into one. The server doesn't necessarily have to leave at the one month mark, but the idea is that there won't be changelogs or dedicated managers or anything of that sort, at least that's not currently intended. It will simply be a popup server for the community to use, engage with each other, have some fun events on, so on and so forth because there was enough interested expressed. Again, I won't give an ETA unless @kabLe wants to, as he's developing it. I'm not going to say pretty much anything about Minecraft. From what I hear the gamemode is going to be very unique and fun, and @Acer is coding it entirely himself and seems to have a ton of cool ideas for it. Once again, any ETA will only be decided by him when he's ready to do so. I agree that there is massive potential in the game and that if gone about correctly, it can offer huge success. Know that we have more plans behind the scenes in regards to advertising, and unique ones at that. Acer is spearheading that in addition to the server itself, and once again, suggestions and feedback are welcome once the server is released. We're currently trying to get everything in order behind the scenes. There's a pretty good system going currently with different staff at the helm of different projects, but there is a bit more that can be done in regards to organization on our side to be able to give you more accurate updates as they come. Another project to point out is obviously the new forums, to the best of my knowledge the new theme was finalized. This obviously pushes us closer to a release, but I once again don't want to make any false promises. We all learned our lesson about making promises about new forums. Joking.. but that would still be up to @Revenga, @Nishok, and @Gator. On it's way though for sure. Additionally, as for next steps with these meetings, I may randomly schedule the next one. Perhaps on a weekend more towards the nighttime to appease the majority of people, however my schedule once it gets late on a weekend usually doesn't offer me enough time to run the meeting entirely. If it works out for anyone else on the Board to attend and run / takeover the meeting at some point, then we can do that. As I said, frequency is not a bad thing in my eyes, so possibly next weekend. If others agree, we may send out a poll as opposed to random scheduling. This all remains to be seen though, as we may even tailor the next one around the schedule of the Board. Clearly there's not much to go off of here in terms of creating some structured timeline in your heads, and we're going to work to create one of our own and get you all somewhat accurate dates to expect upcoming things to be released. Stay tuned for all of that. Thanks guys.
  16. Community meeting now, hop in.
  17. This is today, in roughly 4 hours at 6pm EST. Hope to see you all there.
  18. Hello everyone, Let's start by talking about money and get that out of the way. Allow me to reiterate what Caution has said previously - the community is not at risk of shutting down, and our funds are not a concern. We are brainstorming ideas behind the scenes to increase the amount of money coming in, but it is not our top priority. Our number one priority is increasing activity across the board and bringing new players into the community. This is our entire staff team's sole focus, and I'm going to discuss our plans. Let's also get this whole 'Discord hub' thing out of the way. This was a huge topic months ago and it somehow became everyone's mindset that we were abandoning community servers as a whole and focusing on our Discord. Yes, we want to continue growing our Discord and we see a huge benefit to having it, however.. we can't imagine a situation where it sustains us. We want to grow, we want to return to our former success, and we don't think that's going to do it for us. We still have experienced Directors, we still have passionate server managers, we still have skillful technical administrators, we still have active admins, and most importantly, we still have supportive regulars. There is no point in throwing that all away in favor of Discord, especially when 90% of them would have no role to play in it. We're going to continue our attempts to bolster Discord activity and improve it wherever possible (shoutout Acer), but we don't see a situation where this can rebuild us on its own. With those two things out of the way - we see a lot of potential for Jailbreak and TTT to make a comeback. We're putting a lot of effort in that direction and we 100% see the potential in focusing there. Additionally, we're actively putting effort into other projects such as GMod TTT, Minecraft, SCP, and others.. and we'll cover all of this later. Community servers and games is where we see ourselves going, that's where we see potential, that's what has always been our lifeforce, and that's what we as staff want to continue to work on. We're seeing new communities being created and watching them succeed with community servers, we're watching old communities who are still around and watching them continue to see success in community servers, and we're observing small victories in our own front yard with passionate managers stepping up to the plate, servers being populated, and things generally looking up. So why would we give up on ourselves, and why wouldn't we afford ourselves the opportunity to form successful servers? We want to be completely transparent, and this is the reality of the situation behind the scenes. We're telling you all this because we want to hear what you all have to say about it, if you see the same potential that we do, or if you'd prefer we start focusing our efforts elsewhere. In this upcoming community meeting, we'll discuss this much further, and we'll continue to ask for feedback in this thread even afterwards. Thank you.
  19. Hey man, I understand your frustration, however we haven't had a community meeting in quite some time and time availability for the Directors is slim. I happen to be available on Friday at 6pm EST to run the meeting, so we're having it. Whoever shows up, shows up.. and if not a lot of people do, that's ok. We can start running these meetings weekly, at various different times, and discuss the same topics over and over. There's no such thing as too much discussion, there's no such thing as too much input, and we want to hear from as many people as possible. I don't think there's any point in wasting time trying to appease the entire community, or majority of the staff, or anyone really. You'll never find a time that works for everyone, and wasting time trying to is needless when we can just do these more frequently. If a lot of people share your concern, we'll consider changing the time. But running this one as a tester, noting the turnout, and then immediately running another one, necessary or not, doesn't seem like a bad idea to me.
  20. Hello everyone, We'll be holding a community meeting on Discord this Friday, 10/14, at 6pm EST. We hope to see as many of you there as possible to discuss the current state of the community and what we'll be doing as we head into the future. The more people present the better, as we're looking to hear from all of you and get your thoughts on the direction we're headed and what we can do to improve the way things are going. I'll post a tentative list of topics for the agenda below, and if you have anything you want added, please make a post. - Introduction / Preliminary Message - Current Focus and Direction - Update on Current Projects - State of Staff Team - Donation System - Community Interaction - Open Floor / Discussion Hope to see you all there!
  21. Hello everyone, This tradition has slowly slipped away recently and neither awards have been given out in some time, however we want to bring it back and start calling attention to the people helping our community as we try to pick ourselves back up from the hole we've been stuck in. We truly appreciate everyone's help, and every second of time you're all dedicating to this place. Whether that be a quick forum post with feedback, or logging onto a server for a little bit, it's much appreciated and it means a lot. Today though, we're going to be giving 'Staff of the Month' and 'Member of the Month' to two people who have been doing more than just their fair share of work around here. These two have been helping in various different ways to the point that their names were the immediate responses when the return of these awards was discussed. They're also all around great people and are extremely fun to hang with, which is exactly what our community is made for. Firstly, Member of the Month. This person has been a staff member in the past, and a great one at that, however recently as a normal member of the community they've still been doing it a great service. To his interaction in the Jailbreak channel, the talks he has with me about the server, and the fantastic work he's doing with his mapping - it was an easy choice. The staff team pretty much unanimously voted for @Gentoo as our Member of the Month for September. Congratulations, and thank you! Next, Staff of the Month. It would take far too many paragraphs to explain how much this guy does behind the scenes, but just know it's ridiculous. Beyond just being a solid staff member, he's been managing our Discord server, he's working on the development of Minecraft, and has taken up the reigns on SCP. On top of all that, he was one of the most active Community Advisors prior to his promotion and was constantly pushing out ideas, on top of leading the Events Team in spectacular fashion. Technically he was supposed to be involved in the voting and not be an option, but this guy can't go unrecognized. @Acer is our Staff of the Month for September. Huge congrats to you, and thank you. This is just a little recognition for those of you going above and beyond what's expected of you, and a small token of our appreciation. We know it's not enough to express our gratitude, but we figured it's worth it regardless. I hope everyone continues to contribute whatever they possibly can to bring Steam-Gamers back to its feet, as this community has given a lot to me and I'm sure it's given something to all of you as well. Thank you everyone!
  22. Hello everyone, We have a few announcements for you today, starting off with some promotions. Firstly, we're bringing a couple more people up to Community Advisor. We're happy to welcome lorax and Pog. (Hiro.. Myst.. whatever the fuck his name is) to the team! Their new responsibilities are as follows: Advise the higher staff on important decisions Handling player complaints and issuing bans Moderation of the forum Give awards to members on request Keep servers clean from rule breakers Issue warnings/kicks/bans Screenshot/demo proof for permanent bans Request permanent bans via on the forum Post in-game server problems on the forum Help in any way to make the servers fun Next, we're putting a couple more people onto our Administrative Officer squad. Our two newest members are Acer and Sully! Acer will continue managing his current projects (Discord, Minecraft, SCP) for the time being and Sully will be placed on Bhop. Their new responsibilities include: Verify that servers are operational Reboot dead/lagged servers Assist in training new admins Search for new maps for all servers Upload maps to the servers and fast downloads site Edit map lists & rotations Congratulations to all of you! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's move on to some other news. In the past, when we originally branched our ranks off into specific "teams", we had a Director assigned to oversee each team. This was never really well documented to the public and has recently been forgotten among the higher-ups. However, we're going to be bringing this back; designating a Director to each team, and we're going to be upfront about who is doing what, for the sake of transparency and accountability. So, the designations are as follows: Caution - As the President, Caution oversees everything, even the Vice President. And currently, isn't needed as we're only handing out four separate designations, and we have four Directors to take care of them. However, Caution will still step in when need be to give input and criticism when he sees fit. Gator - As the Vice President, Gator will oversee all of the Directors and ensure that we're performing properly, and fill the gaps where and if need be. Of course, he'll also make sure that the oversight of every team is being handled smoothly, and make adjustments if need be. Dominic - Dominic will be the Administrative Officer overseer. This means being in charge of bringing up and handling disciplinary actions against them if need be, whether that be inactivity or poor behavior. This overseer is also in charge of organizing AO meetings, ensuring team cooperation, and swapping around and reassigning them to different servers if need be. They'll also be primarily in charge of suggesting new additions to the team. Hawks - Hawks will be the Community Advisor overseer. This is essentially the same blueprint as the overseer of Administrative Officers, where he'll be in charge of organizing meetings, ensuring activity and good performance, scouting for worthy people to come up to the rank, so on and so forth. Greggy G - Greggy G will be the Events Team overseer. This is also essentially the same blueprint as the above two, however given we've retained our "Event Manager" position and have two incumbents, this overseer takes more of a backseat. But if the EMs need any help, a Director to sign off on a decision, etc., this will be the person they go to. kabLe - kabLe will be the Servers overseer. This overseer can somewhat intermingle with the overseer of Administrative Officers, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. However, this spot is more about helping managers with actual server management, giving suggestions to improve the state of the servers, suggesting and implementing new servers, etc. So the focus will be largely different than the Administrative Officer overseer. Obviously, these are all spots we're going to focus on, but this isn't meant to limit us nor does this mean Directors will start acting autonomously necessarily. If Greggy is busy and can't help an EM with something, of course I'm still going to step in. And if there's an AO that needs to be let go, I'm still going to consult the Board. This is meant to divvy up responsibilities a little more clearly and give us as Directors a clear goal when we're putting time and effort in here. Oftentimes as a Director, you start focusing on a million different tasks given how boundless your role is, but this will hopefully help us to key in on certain tasks and finish them quicker. And as lower staff and regulars, this gives you a better idea of who to approach with suggestions, questions, concerns, etc. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lastly, on behalf of the Event Managers, a quick call to action for the Events Team. We're looking for new members! The Events Team is a key position at Steam-Gamers currently. Running events to bring the community together, running server events to help population, and handling smaller scale items like the question of the day are all very important to us currently. With nothing go on, things would quickly go stale and we'd be in a much worse position. But, it's not hard by any means to help out. There is very little learning curve with this team, as all you really need to know how to do is: - come up with an idea for an event, a get together, or anything else that will help the community - be able to write a thread and present it in a decent fashion - show up to host it, encourage people to have fun, and make it the best experience you can And the Events Managers are eagerly looking for new applicants to promote to the team. Plus, it's a great way to prove yourself in the eyes of other staff members if you're interested in another position in the community. Additionally, with two great team leaders, you'll have no problem adjusting and learning the ropes. So please, if you're interested in helping, apply now with the button below! >>>APPLY FOR THE EVENTS TEAM<<< Thanks everyone!
  23. Well I suppose it's not our world, but I stare at the Moon a lot. Sounds corny but it's not in a "wow that's so beautiful man" way, it's in a "holy shit, that's a floating rock, like in space and shit" way. Space has always fascinated me beyond anything else and every time I look at the Moon it feels unreal. Crazy how you can even see the craters very clearly.
  24. Mass Unban

Hello everyone, The Board has been discussing routes to take in improving the state of the community. Obviously the biggest problem currently is activity on the servers, the forums.. across the board really. We all recognize that and are actively working to improve it. There's a lot of moving parts behind the scenes currently and a lot of exciting news to come. On that note, a mass unban has been on the table for quite some time now. This was even a discussion when I was previously a member of the Board some time ago. Steam-Gamers has been racking up banned members for 15 years and has never done anything like this. This is by no means an ultimate solution to our problem, and has never been viewed that way. However, we 100% believe we'll see some returning players because of this, and that's enough for us. So we'll be unbanning everyone who was banned prior to 01/01/2020. To put it in other words, everyone who was banned in the year 2019 or earlier. There are a number of exceptions to this, as we had an old and new 'Do Not Unban' list, but that's a very small amount of people. Let me be very clear on something though - this is not a clean slate for anyone. Anyone coming off of a permanent ban will not be treated the same as a first time offender, and will not be getting three chances like most people do. This will most likely be going into effect this weekend, and we will post as soon as it's completed so you're all aware. We hope to see a lot of returning faces and hopefully this will aid us in restoring activity on our platforms. Thank you.
  25. 10/4/22 Just a quick little quality of life change, huge thank you to @BoTo for doing this. This message: Now looks like this: And this message: Now looks like this: It's just a little rebrand since those messages have been the same for years upon years (now that I think about it, might've even been like that when I first joined here) and to help with visibility. It spams it three times and the colors are much more noticeable, so it's pretty convenient.
