  1. I feel like if you had more or rather any time on the server/CSGO currently you may feel differently. People highly exaggerate how bad Prison Break actually is. In my eyes the player base does not take even half the responsibility for why PB is the way it currently is. It's a massive spit in the face every time I have to hear how cancerous PB is when I watch admins log online and punish/ban for flat out wrong reasons with little knowledge about the server or it's rules. Sure some of the player base can be brash or childish sometimes but it's honestly nothing so unbearable and horrible as people try to make it out to be. Regs have people shoving changes down our throats that we don't at all want/need. Despite the fact that we have little staffing, we get an increase in player slots. Despite the fact that the CA+ says the server is chaotic, we get forced dg that are extremely controversial and able to be abused. We have a lack of staffing that makes us constantly have to almost self manage the server. The server is as bad as it is because of a lack of admins & bad changes, and while I don't blame the admins for not playing (if they don't want to that's their choice obviously) it's one of the main issues the server has. Getting more admins on PB, whether that be by adding more of them, giving more incentive, requiring playtime (i dont agree with that obviously), regardless of how we do it the server could seriously use some more admins and good change (hopefully the meeting Friday will accomplish some of that). Anyway, I don't care about what we do but for how loyal the PB regulars are I'm getting pretty tired of seeing people take massive shits on them for the minority of the server that are mostly new players. As you said I hope the meeting Friday goes well with Caution but with just this thread in mind I feel like we should spend less time arguing the problem & actually figure a solution.
  2. Gonna try to keep this thread productive as I see an incoming shitstorm. Just tossing ideas out there, please don't break my kneecaps and stomp my village. What about globally increasing an admins raffle points to x8-10 instead of x4? This chance is pretty self explanatory, it's just to raise incentive higher. What would you guys think about giving PB deal more points to admins than the other servers? The logic would be that since it's harder & more stressful to administrate you get a higher benefit in playing it (i dont know if i personally agree with the idea that its harder to administrate, but its something i keep hearing over and over) , hopefully increasing the benefits higher than the cost for administrators. Lets share some ideas and see if we can come up with something boys.
  3. I disagree with the assumption of how the admin team in the past and present feels/felt about Prison Break. I know for a fact that in the past FAR more admins played Prison Break than now and I don't believe that maintaining ratio & acting on incidents that you see is particularly difficult. I understand what you're saying about people over extending authority because personally I have seen admins be very quick to ban some of the rude-ish PB players. (personally I think that it comes more down to a fault in the admin than the server) I wasn't saying add an incentive to just PB alone but considering far more admins play TTT than PB I could almost make the case that if every admin thinks PB is so "cancer" that adding an incentive to it alone for admins wouldn't be a terrible thing to do. In my mind the lack of admins has way less to do with disliking/liking administrating it and way more to do with them just flat out not liking the server. Anyway regardless of the reasons why there aren't admins online (its a useless & quite frankly a petty argument) adding some kind of incentive to help one of our most popular servers & reward admins does not sound like a bad idea to me at all.
  4. I don't think you went overboard at all. Call me a cynic or an asshole but I definitely think some people join with specifically getting admin in mind. (not saying all of those people necessarily get admin, most of them don't) So many people join the forums and attempt to "integrate" themselves into the community by spamming & regurgitating other peoples posts. These same people are the ones who you see unhelpfully spamming "type !faq !rules" binds, making useless player complaints on people for petty reasons, and overall REALLY trying to make themselves seem admin-like. Another prime example is the people who make their admin applications, get rejected, then go inactive for a long while afterwards. I'm sure Four understands that there are alternatives besides having admins online (player complaints, cb, steam etc..) but, as a PB player where our server has a severe lack of staffing even when 25+ people are online I completely agree with him that we should be looking into at the VERY LEAST adding more incentive for admins to logon and help out.
  5. Admins becoming inactive after getting rank is most definitely an issue but I would rather give them incentive to play rather than punish them for not. All of the staff are providing free labor to SG to help the community so setting specific time values and such would be a spit in the face.
  6. I'm gonna copy and paste some of my past forum posts cause I've said everything I had to say about this on other threads and probably 1000 more times in VoIP & Steam. I was somewhat interested to see if the new gen player-base could possibly work with the Forced DG(even though I always thought it was the equivalent handing a toddler a revolver) but I'm very sure after observing how people reacted that keeping it-even with the restrictions would lead to more unnecessary issues. I feel like many people as of recent are trying to change a system that isn't broken and it's leading to lots of impulsive changes that are hurting more than helping. I think I can speak for the majority of SG PB regulars when I say that not having warnings shots and a warden system are things we NEVER want implemented. Prison Break as it stands right now is doing really well, the only serious issue with it in my opinion is a lack of admins which some may attribute to a "chaotic" atmosphere but I honestly see that as absolute bullshit. I've played on PB nearly everyday for the past 2 months and it is nothing unmanageable once you get used to it. The cause of the servers "chaotic" atmosphere in my opinion is largely due to incredibly inactive or nonexistent PB admins and to be honest I don't see these changes convincing many if any at all admins from playing the server. I've said this on multiple occasions recently even before this thread or changes to PB were brought up but, PB players more than often are pretty much managing and administrating the server by player complaints, calling admins, etc.. We don't have the luxury of TTT where we have 4-5 SA+ on at once. In my opinion all the changes that Goku put in place are good but there is a few things that I didn't agree with and personally the Forced Deathgames need to be purged entirely. The only way to get them to work in my opinion would be to add restriction after restriction which eventually defeats the purpose of adding them in the first place. Let me make this analogy. It would be nice to allow people to drive as fast as they want but because of some stupid fuck driving 130mph into a gas station we end up with speed limits. The point being that because of the few idiots who actually will abuse the freedom given to them, it tends to spoil it for the rest of the people. In a perfect scenario with competent, cooperative people the recent changes would have gone over gingerly but because we have to assume the worst (exploiting) the changes went IMO badly & pissed off A LOT of people. Anyway I think I've said all I could on the topic.
  7. I will be attending among all 16 CA's. ;) Thank you for taking community input though, I'll try to spread the word to the PB base.
  8. Been here on PB and GMOD TTT since early 2010.
  9. didnt like mg servers /=/ not an old fag

  11. Its been a good run.

Only talked to you a few times but you were a pretty chill dude. Don't let life get you down and always remember - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUfzMDryA94
  12. I kindly disagree. It takes an AO stepping down from PB to even see more than 3 people SA+ logon at all. Having what is mostly 1 staff member ( @Dominic @Delirium @Frostbitten ) deal with anymore mic spamming, free killing, disrespectful children would be bad for the admins & the server. The server simply doesn't need to be more chaotic especially given the new rule changes.
  13. To elaborate on my point, based on where the Ts and CT are it can add to the chaos to not allow other CTs to kill someone. I feel like the counter-argument where CTs are mistakenly killing the wrong people is strictly human error and should be punished as just straight up free killing. In my opinion, there is no need to add anymore rules and the fact that we're having these kinds of issues shows that forced death games are only making the server environment more chaotic and the player base more upset. Rarely were people being mistakenly killed when 2-3 people were playing a Deathgame but with this new ruling I figure it to be causing a lot of excess issues rather than one giant glaring problem. Anyway I'm against adding even more rules to curb Forced DG residual downsides as it will eventually add to the confusion for newer players. tldr ; @Caution remove forced deathgames please then make dom ao so he can add a warden system n no warning shots
  14. No, all the CTs should not be restricted from killing the Ts. Depending on how people are lined up it can give people a higher chance to rebel or get their teammates killed by hiding behind one another.
  15. Quick giveaway

  16. This guy. THIS GUY.
  17. Now we just remove Forced Death games entirely and leave the rest of the changes? /thread ?
  18. Your progression from PB kid to PB show runner is a testament to how dedicated you have been to SG. I have a special kind of respect for anyone that has to put up with the bullshit of climbing that far in the ranks only to deal with dumb PB threads and angst teenagers. Despite a rocky ending to your time as the SS PB's Captain you've done a fine job and I await your return. Thank you for fun times and please don't fade from SG too much. im gonna miss arguing with you about pb :''(
  19. I disagree with adding this. Personally I see the highlighted portion as a big enough deal to not add it. I've played more than enough ArmA 3 for me to dislike corner peaking as I feel like it creates an environment for boring, skill-less and campy type play styles.
  20. As of 2 weeks ago the only PB admins I even consider active "PB admins" are @Dominic and @Frostbitten.
  21. I agree with @Caution, don't want to restate/reword half of what he said but I definitely agree that a plethora of issues arises when you have lots of restrictions tagged along with the Forced Death games rule. I was somewhat interested to see if the new player-base could possibly work with the Forced Deathgames (even though I always thought it was the equivalent handing a toddler a revolver) but I'm very sure after observing how people reacted that keeping it-even with the restrictions would lead to more unnecessary issues. I feel like many people as of recent are trying to change a system that isn't broken and it's leading to lots of impulsive changes that are hurting more than helping. I think I can speak for the majority of SG PB regulars when I say that not having warnings shots and a warden system are things we NEVER want implemented. In saying that.. @Goku I think in the future you shouldn't have the mindset that just cause you could try something, doesn't mean you should (there is the other extreme of not adding things because of hypotheticals, but this simply wasn't it) and if it leaves room for abuse it should be completely avoided. The population at SG's PB don't play for fancy plugins and strict rules, they play for the flexibility & sense of community. Not trying to put you on blast but in our hours worth of conversations/forum posts during this entire ordeal I felt as if my suggestions were going extremely undervalued and sometimes not even taken into consideration. By the time you started listening @Caution and @Delirium were already parading through PB showcasing the very things I told you would happen and I honestly think that it shouldn't have taken you so long to acknowledge the issues with the change. Anyway, the other changes you made were very good I just personally think you shouldn't have been so stubborn about it. To highlight an extremely important section of this post. The PB community & regulars in the future needs to be more vocal on changes like these so that we don't end up adding stuff to the servers that gets our regs pissed off and hurts our new player retention. In all of the threads about these changes I did my best with people like @RabbitinaHat or @Mad Dogg but we simply need more input. On board for removing the Forced Death games and leaving the rest of the changes well enough alone.
  22. The escape routes are all vents, which are KOS. So still. I don't see why.
  23. Taking all the rules word for word people are going to say no but.. If you fell in the pit and are going to die then I don't see why they can't kill you. Doesn't really make a difference.
  24. @Goku Figure I'd post this on here, not to give you any extra grief but just to see if any of the regs else feel similar and have observed similar situations as I have. Just wanted to sneak in here that you should lower the mute time slightly maybe by like 10-15 seconds just as a comfort change. Played for a bit and basically saw people sent somewhere until 2:30 then forced to play a death game by being sent somewhere. For example being told to go through portal on Clouds and then around 2:30 being sent to disco to participate in Simon says. Of course in this time people have a chance to rebel but these changes aren't always resulting in freedays. People could very well sit on Soccer pitch until the clock ticks down or sent between medic to isolation crouching 100x. Have observed an extremely convoluted way around warning shots that I find mildly amusing involving simon says, but I'm going to leave that out of here to avoid people purposefully abusing it. ; ) ; ) ; ) In my eyes you have one of two options. (keep in mind i fully understand if you want to wait more and gather more opinions on this) Completely remove forced deathgames and leave the rest of the changes. Tweak it only allowing deathgames to be forced when 5-6 Prisoners are left alive. (my original suggestion) Either way the root problem and I've been trying to say this for fucking weeks is that WE HAVE LITTLE TO NO STAFF ON PB TO ENFORCE ANY OF RULES.
