  1. Well deserved, thank you for the more-than-mediocre maps Foz!
  2. Pred is a known racist, can't believe you guys would vote for him..
  3. Why even require or encourage people to leave votes rather than just input. It's been made very clear that you aren't voting for the applicants anyways, just leaving input that the BDs will take into account. The only use I see for actually needing to specify an abstain/support/reapply is if your input includes so much criticism that you would need to specify. I think that leaving an actual vote discourages thoughtful responses and criticisms, as many respondents will make up their mind first, then spout out buzzwords like "he's active" until their vote is sufficiently detailed, leaving out any constructive criticisms.

  6. Map variety has been an issue for many of our servers, with many people seeming to agree that players simply vote for maps they recognize. Suggestions have been made regarding increasing map cooldown for voting or playing random maps, but ATs seem to be comfortable with how the current system works. I think it would be useful to have a one-off/infrequent event where maps are set up in a list with voting disabled and RTVing enabled. This would allow/force players to play maps for possibly the first time ever. If a map is universally disliked, it can be RTVed, and the next map on the list will be automatically loaded. While I specifically have TTT and JB in mind for this event, I'm sure other servers may benefit from it as well.
  7. This is one of the issues that I can't come up with a half decent solution for, so I'd love to see if anyone creative has anything in mind. On one hand, chat orders suck and most players don't pay attention to them. I have to go out of my way to remind fellow or opposing Ts to read orders in chat over comms. That's right - you need a mic for chat orders to be effective, ironically. On the other hand, our server often struggles with maintaining a strong amount of CTs on certain maps. These non-mic CTs play an important role in enforcing the orders that other CTs give; to remove them from CT would cripple the server. I suppose restricting chat orders in ways that would stop them from interfering with rounds, but not leave them powerless when all CTs with mics are dead would be the best way to go about this. Disallowing Freedays from being given through chat, and having Mic orders automatically override chat orders are possible implementations that would cut down on havoc caused by chat orders. Saying that you should always be looking at chat is sort of a shit excuse, in my opinion. CTs need to keep their eyes on Ts, secrets, etc. just to enforce properly and remain safe. Ts are also usually too busy following orders or keeping up with what's going on and looking for chances to rebel. For a good, but not comparable/perfect example, try going on TTT and seeing how many bodies you can ID consecutively before anyone bats an eye. No matter how important or useful it is to look at chat, most players simply won't.
  8. Rest assured, if you get any votes this year it's because the edgy 14 year olds think your name sounds cool, Grimace.
  9. Don't bother campaigning, Ned just announced he will already be rigging spots for HALF of the finalists
  10. It's T-Baiting season
  11. I am personally using the HyperX Quadcast cardioid mic which features a rad design, crispy audio, directional settings, and - a stand. I love that mic and would recommend it to anyone, but you should listen to audio samples and reviews to decide what mic is best for you. I have also heard good things about the mic quality on HyperX's headphones, but cannot personally vouch for those claims. Alternatively, if you like your current headset, you could consider a ModMic - a headset style mic that can be adhered or clipped to your current pair of headphones.

It's a favorite of Louis CK, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle! Seriously tho if you're investing that much in a mic, don't limit your options to stands that come with attached stands when you could easily pick up a quality stand or arm for $10-$20.
  13. This has been discussed many times. Although chat orders suck, it is more inclusive to players if we allow anyone on CT, mic or not. They have made a few changes to make life easier including printing !to chat orders as toast messages and requiring special orders to be given over the mic. I don't believe the JB team is looking to change their mind on this anytime soon, but, nonetheless, thank you for the suggestion. https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=90456
  14. I imagine nominations may be limited to staff because they are more likely to see work that is being done behind the scenes, compared to regulars, who will only see what is being done on the forums and especially the servers. This would most likely being a more even coverage of nominations, but would also result in people just nominating the most active/their favorite staff. I don't think this is really what they're looking for.

  16. Damn people really shitting on Kicks. I believe that he is specifically referring to EVENTS for the most part, including admins vs members and Juggernaut where specific people need to be on each team. I think it would be more feasible to only lock people out of CT, but allow them to join T if they would like, requiring admins to switch them back to CT.

  18. You're right, I couldn't get enough of the 30-5 ratio for the whole week following release!
  19. Yessir. Reference cards are better binned (coming straight from AMD) but rely on a blower style cooler, pulling in air from your case, through the cards internal radiator, and shooting it right out the back of the card. Aftermarket cards will have different cooling solutions that may offer better overclocking performance or cooler ambient temps if you're interested.
  20. You picked the best time to pick up a new GPU. You've got good options in the flagship market on either side, either picking up a RTX 2070 Super, RX 5700 or RX 5700 XT. Radeon cards still allow you to record using Radeon ReLive in a much similar manner. If you decide to go the AMD route, aftermarket cards will be dropping in about 2 weeks, as only reference cards are available right now. I can hook you up with better Voltages and Clocks, as the stock cards seem to be way overvolted.

  22. Wireless Mouse

Have a friend who has a hobby of trying as many mice as he can get his hands on. Swears by the G Pro wireless as the best wireless mouse. It's a bit over your budget but I'm sure saving your allowance money would be worth it.
  23. As a gun that can be picked up on the map, it doesn't offer any realistic advantage that would suit the detective role. I'd also wager that there's more players fatfinger buying it then intentionally buying it in place of a taser or other more useful detective items. On the T side, however, I think it's worth keeping. While there is merit to the argument that it's much less valuable than the m4a1s for the same price, that would be better solved with more granular price adjustment (eg cash @Im Sad ;)). It's still a valuable part of the T arsenal, especially if the m4a1s was to be considered KOS in the future.
  24. I think the Wolfenstein universe would be pretty rad!
  25. It would be useful to limit mic use to 4-5 CTs at once. When retards are hogging the mic to argue or micspam, it will be easier for admins to pick them out and mute them. A CT shouldn't be enforcing an order they gave with 10 people talking over them anyways, so it wouldn't be a terrible hindrance to CTs. Make sure to include a toast to let people know they aren't talking, so they don't try to enforce orders that aren't making their way to VC. @eXtr3m3 @Manny
