  1. Vbuck give aways

You should list exactly what you are giving away (amount) and how someone can enter.
  2. No matter what else was said I support this statement and whole heartedly would be against forum removal. And I believe a large majority of people that knew (either active or inactive) would be as well.
  3. Spotify Wrapped 2023

I've never used Spotify except for listening to random songs someone links me.
  4. If I was going to vote for what "I" wanted (ie. servers I would play on the most often) it would probably be: 1. TTT 2. 1v1 Arena 3. Reverse GunGame 4. Minigames 5. Jailbreak
  5. Big shout out to @jazzyfor coordinating and the idea.
  6. You can also use r2modman as a standalone application with no adds instead of Thunderstore App: https://thunderstore.io/package/ebkr/r2modman/
  7. GOATed Jazzy
  8. The letter w used to be "uu" until the invention of the printing press made it "vv"
  9. There are opportunities to have dedicated servers for new games, but we also would need members to fill them up to the point that non-members are inclined to join. I mean I would personally love a Hell Let Loose server and would help manage it, but I cannot populate it on my own. The same goes for other games out there that arent as popular as CS2. Then with CS2 we have to just wait for it to actually be possible to have the servers we want. Many people come in discord and ask about ZE, JB, and Surf. Right now, I think it is possible to get some CS2 servers up for other game modes though (like deathmatch and 1v1 arena). I do not understand this to be honest. All of the discord chat channels are used often. Many people use politics and food. The issue with discord channels are the numerous voice channels and the organization of some of the channels. For example we really need a "shopping" channel or something to discuss purchases and deals. Or a channel to discuss the flavor of the month. If it were me, and I do this for my own discord with my friends, I setup roles for all non-primary to be joinable and un-joinable. This is similar to the game roles. The destiny channel for example should only appear for persons who have the destiny role. Why should everyone be forced to see it? Same goes for CS2 category. The only channels that should be "mandatory" are general discussion channels and info / announcements.
  10. This is a good example of what I meant people should do kabLe. This is a follow up with your own additions. I'm not talking about what you said just that you quoted and elaborated details from your point of view. This is what we need more of. A bad example is people just linking pointless videos to circle jerk and take away from discussion. Whether that discussion is positive or negative is besides the point. If people here are serious then act serious when the higher ups are basically asking for help.
  11. Then I would suggest those persons write their feelings themselves from their own point of views and perspectives.
  12. Not to discredit anyone's feelings and opinions, but quoting and replaying +1 is only cluttering discussion. That is what likes are for. It is just an example of immature and unhelpful behavior.
  13. Yes, removing the forums should've not been brought up because it sounds like someone contemplating giving up already. Discord cannot be a good replacement for forums. Discord threads are HORRENDOUS.
  14. Seems to me this post got off topic and turned into a "who should be in charge" debate. Sorry, I thought this was about the forums and the discord content. Either way, if you say the forums should go I simply cannot agree with that in the slightest. Replacing the forums with a landing page to the discord is a really bad idea (as the reasons @Spiritwindsaid above). Archiving the forums is also a bad idea unless you're completely giving up on them. Again, by doing that you are also saying you are giving up on any influx of players from CS2 community servers anytime within the next year or two. We've seen and heard many times that money is not an issue keeping things online, so with that being said, it makes absolutely zero sense to decommission the forums. Please give one valid reason why this should be done. The forums are a nostalgic place indeed, however, nostalgia won't save them. The reason traffic is lacking is because we have more people leaving than joining. People have lives and they will rotate their interests when it comes to communities. New relationships, school, jobs, etc will cause this. The focus should be on getting new members not bringing old members back. Old members will come back on their own when their life is ready. It's the current active members and leaders job to ensure they have a place to come back to. If we want new members to join then we have to actively go out and recruit them. You will also need more than 2 permanent servers for them to play on. Again, this should be fixed once Valve get their stuff together with CS2 and community modders make leaps with plugins. We cannot do anything about that right now. Every community is suffering. The only alternative is to find new games to host dedicated servers for in the meantime. Again, the biggest reason the forums are in decline is because there arent people playing on community servers. Who exactly is supposed to join the forums these days? Who is supposed to come and happen upon this place as a new member on the internet? The discord has new members join often because they find the server via discovery randomly. That and thinking we are a "Steam" group for Steam related questions and stuff. I really dislike the idea of condensing the discord channels. What does that achieve? The issue isn't that we have "too many" channels. The issue is that we have "too many unused" channels. We need to simplify the discord by removing the bloat and unused channels and then diversify. it is a 2 step approach. There are many things missing from the discord that would help the community and drive organized discussion. I don't want 1 or 2 text channels that clutter with a smorgasbord of random things. We already do that with random. As I said before, random should be split up to have many more organized topic discussions. The politics and food channels are a good representation of this.
  15. I'll keep it short and to the point as I'm out of town on mobile. I don't believe the forums should change yet. CS2 is just starting up. Community servers haven't even been fully implemented and utilized at all. This is where new members would come from. I think it would be the wrong decision to change the forums at this moment. Forum activity could still make a comeback once CS2 community servers are revived. I do believe more could be done on discord, but I do not personally want discord to become a replacement of the forums. That would be too many discord channels. I think what we have now could be cleaned up a little and a couple more text channels could be added (like expanding random to multiple channels like memes, outdoors, technology, music, etc) to replace it. Also flavor of the month channels would be cool. But, at the end of the day that is minor tweaks.
