  1. I've responded to Punky's thread. !takeknife is still not allowed under Valve's "new statement". It creates a duplicate knife that another player owns, Valve's statement is that the only things they encourage is allow the owner of the knife to drop/swap with someone else to "share" it, rather than dupe it. Custom knives are also not allowed, as explicitly stated.
  2. I have a skin for every weapon but the knife, I feel your pain.
  3. In light of the recent banwave/blacklist wave Valve did with servers having custom knife plugins, !takeknife was moved to the "Unapproved" plugins category via Valve's changes. This unfortunately means that while we were apparently lucky and avoided a blacklist this time around, the next time we may not be so lucky. Until we can get more hands-on information on how hard it is to re-whitelist a server, I've removed !takeknife from all servers just so we're on the side of @Caution when it comes to this. There is a possibility of it coming back to the servers soon if we can sort out how big of a risk it really is to have it on our servers.
  4. Sponsoring a personality is not really a route we want to take. While most people don't think of it, whenever something bad happens with a streamer/youtuber that hate also goes to their sponsors as well. Since it's unpredictable that X person will always be an upstanding, wonderful, nice person, it's risky to sponsor a person. We would rather look for someone to sponsor us rather than the other way around.
  5. This was a permissions issue with usergroups. I fixed it.
  6. Huge thanks to @SpikedRocker @Liam Brown @Revenga for all the work they put into fixing up the images and taking care of the potential problem we might have had.
  7. SG won't be using the funds our members generously donate to our community to send to other people. We do giveaways to give back to the community, and as far as helping those in need, the subject is too easily abused. People can and will lie to get free money if they think it will work. Unfortunately we can't just trust them to tell the truth even if they are members of our community. Everyone in the community is of course encouraged to help each other out in whatever way they see fit to do so, if people don't mind sending a couple dollars to help out a fell SG member in need, it's welcomed and we love that our community is willing to do that for each other. It's just the SG's donation/subscriber funds won't be used to do something like that when we can't trust where the money is going.
  8. In response to the recent perms, Pyro and possibly other members of Peanut Crew have been spam joining TeamSpeak. In response to this we have increased the security level of our TS, it should only take you about 10-15 minutes to reach the necessary security level and it's a one-time deal. It's to discourage spam accounts being made when it takes them so long to get back in just to be banned in a matter of seconds again. In addition to this, all pictures on forums have been temporarily disabled due to an exploit which gives IPs of anyone who views the picture to the person who created the link. Pyro has used this to try and DoS attack certain higher ups, and therefore as a precaution we disabled all avenues on our forums that they might use to exploit this. We will try to get a reasonable fix to this soon, but given how late this all occurred, our TAs need sleep too and therefore might not get a effective fix until later. Obviously, in light of this information, please be aware of what links you click and make sure that they are from a site you trust/know. Also be aware that the url shortening site bitly or tinyurl is something to be cautious of if you do not trust the person sending the link.
  9. Since several people thought we were not taking this seriously, many of them have ended up getting permed since they decided to push the limits after reading this thread. Tsuna, Psyche, Pyro, Neptune lost their respective ranks due to their actions of trying to promote Peanut and try to bait a reaction out of us (AO+). In addition to a few of them being told in the past to stop fucking around and/or trolling in the community. We gave this punishment very across the board for everyone that was involved, these are the only ones that had ranks higher than Regular and thus the only ones really worth noting since no one else will see the difference. They were also banned from Teamspeak only, however all that aren't currently permed are unbanned at this point. Pyro and Neptune both responded to their Admin being taken away extremely negatively and ended up getting permed because of their actions afterwards. Nick (aka Capp'n) let Mudkip (a permed player) on his Admin account who then invited several Peanut Daycare people to the SG Admin group on steam and they started spamming racism. Extreme Potatoes was permed for this exact same thing, and this is the same ban we issued to Capp'n not only because he should have known better, but because it was his Admin account he gave Mudkip access to.

  12. Hello everyone, For those who aren't aware, Peanut Daycare is a group of individuals who are comprised mostly of permanently banned players from SG. There are some people who are not banned that are part of both SG and Peanut, and up until this point we've been fine with people being part of both. There are plenty of members who are part of both groups that do not cause us any problems, and we are not wanting to group everyone affiliated with Peanut Daycare and say they are all bad apples because it isn't true. However, from now on if you are part of Peanut Daycare, or have affiliation with them in some way, and you are found breaking our rules or tip toeing around the lines of our rules, or endorsing Peanut Daycare, you may end up permanently banned from SG. We are having to take this harder stance because we (the higher up staff) are tired of having to deal with the antics from Peanut Daycare and their friends. In case people are not aware of what Peanut has been doing over the past few months, they include spamming new accounts that spam racism, making accounts with members real names, editing pictures to harass members, using alt accounts to play in our servers when they are permanently banned, and attempting to DoS attack us multiple times. They attempted to DoS attack our TeamSpeak last Saturday during the meeting, and several of them attempted to disrupt the meeting by joining it undercover. We at SG are tired of dealing with it, and therefore if you want to be part of Peanut Daycare as well as SG, that is fine by us so long as you follow our rules. To those who are part of both and continue to follow our rules, they have nothing to worry about. We're having to take a harsher stance on this since this group and people from it are constant issues with our community, and we have to look out for our members to ensure they are not subjected to the antics or attitudes the people from that group tend to attract. Thank you, -SG Staff
  13. Our Admins did a good job of explaining why something like this will not go through. They are not "glorified babysitters" they are the ones who keep our servers fun and entertaining to be a part of. They are also competent members of the community that are expected to be an example for all our players and members of what SG looks for in players when we consider those we want playing in our community. Someone who takes blindly the word of a bunch of random people on the internet and punishes another player for it is not someone we would want in our community. Any Admin caught doing that would receive an Admin strike pretty unanimously. While Rawr did so sarcastically, he did give you the proper response to this situation. Player complaints are constantly monitored by our CAs and if possible, AOs and BDs can follow up on ones that may not have all the evidence given but could find more in the logs. If you are trying to say that it's better for our Admins to blindly listen to a bunch of people on the servers than for you to type "record demo1" in console, you're sorely mistaken and I question your understanding of what is a logical route to deal with things. What happens when a group of players who don't like you start saying "Omg omg DarkJester was just saying racist jokes and racial slurs on the mic for like 10 minutes before you got here!" and our Admins act like you want them to? You would end up with a nice week long ban, does that seem fair to you? It isn't, and that's why we don't run things like that here.
  14. For you and everyone else: I was kidding.
  15. I don't want to keep deleting your post count when you don't keep your word. I think the punishment of people losing faith in what you say as you keep failing to deliver will be punishment enough. Edit: Moved to Events since it's more of a giveaway event than a "deal".
  16. Some would say honesty is more important than intelligence.
  17. Buy a second copy of CSGO on another account, and proceed to attempt to get a smurf SG account that I get ranked up all the way to BD without ever using a mic in my free time. This account would constantly support my ideas discretely, but at the same time be a super friendly version of me that uses emoticons to express feelings like the weaboos do. It'd be like a social experiment to see if it gets promoted faster without a mic than I did.
  18. If we were going to do merchandise store again, it would be for more practical things that people would be willing to buy. One thing you have to recognize is to most people, the idea of buying their favorite online community's t-shirt is a bit cringeworthy. Many of them wouldn't be willing to wear it outside and explain to someone who asked what it was that it was their online gaming community they were part of. It's a bit of an awkward conversation talking about that stuff with people who either don't game or don't understand the point of a gaming community. Things like mousepads, stickers, and posters are much better options for us to try and market to the community. Simply because those things can be admired in private and enjoyed. We wouldn't be necessarily "against" this kind of merchandise being sold, but there's the matter of getting it all set up which could be a hassle depending on all the things we'd have to put in place. If there's chance we could make money off it, we're willing to look into it.
  19. The main part is only the first 30mins really, then the next 1hr 30mins is answering questions from the community. There were nearly 60 people at the meeting, so there was a lot of questions.
