  1. router/modem

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124333 Boom. EDIT: The above router is only necessary if you have computers or other stuff that utilize Wireless-N. Otherwise, it's quite useless. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124284 ^^^^^^ If you do not have anything that will utilize Wireless-N.
  2. Optimize My system

Certain Pentium 4, the Prescott ones, are LGA 775.

I set AF to 8x because as with the human eye, the further an object, the smaller/blurrier it gets. With AF set to 16x, everything is clear, regardless of distance. This seems really unrealistic to me. And with 16x AA, I don't really notice the difference between 8x and 16x. They look exactly the same to me, so why sacrifice performance for barely any vision gain?
  4. Agreed. In some games, Vista is actually better in gaming than XP, but more or less within a 5-10% margin. They are virtually the same in performance when it comes to game. But not when it comes to compatibility and bug-free-ness.
  5. Our Crap Fort!

LOL! Call me up when you do this next time. Looks fun. I would love to play with poop.
  6. SG Video help.

Add me on Steam - leslieliang60634 and call me up when you are going to record.
  7. No homo, but the least I would do is take off my pants and socks. I hate being drenched with water.

Only 100 average on CS:S? I guess ATI is a bad choice for CS:S. Luckily I have an Nvidia. My 8600 GTS gets about 200 average at 1440x900, all high, 8x AA and AF.
  9. System specs

    Wrong section. Tech Talk please.
  10. SG Video help.

    I'll help.
  11. Demonoid

Demonoid is one of the crappiest private torrent sites. Like everyone gets in sooner or later because they keep opening registration. It doesn't even require you to maintain a certain up to down ratio.
  12. Prayer

    TROLLL.

I usually see people with stock coolers that take 2 slots, so either way, the cards are stacked next to each other. Like this: http://www.overclock.net/attachments/hardware-news/75538d1213557665-fudzilla-nvidia-gtx-280-sli-tri-gtx280_3sli_1.jpg
  14. I would say yes to all high no AA or AF.
  15. Size

I don't understand how people are able to go SLI/CF with 2 cards stacked next to each other and still have fine temperatures. Shouldn't the card closest to the motherboard be dying from heat issues?
  16. Demonoid

Registration was open like a couple of weeks ago, iirc.
  17. any suggestions?

    Nevermind.

    Get a new case.
  19. Optimize My system

Newegg has a selection. The ones that are compatible with your computer for sure are Intel LGA 775 with a 800 MHz FSB, since the processor in your computer currently has those specs. Okay, so yea, a graphics card should be a MUST if you want your computer to be better for gaming. The processor can wait. I chose the 2 processors that I recommended because of this review: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gaming-cpu,2398.html If you want a new gaming rig, it will cost you more than $400 dollar as most people that build new rigs will not cheap out on parts. EDIT: I forgot to look at the rest of your post after your 2 links. My bad. Also, check the updated version of my post that you quoted.
  20. Optimize My system

Forgot Dells make their own MB. My bad. I guess you will have to go for the cheaper CPU just to be safe on compatibility. Well can you PM me your service tag? It can be found on the case somewhere on a sticker. I need to know if you have a PCIe slot for the graphics card.
  21. Optimize My system

BTW, what is your motherboard make an model. I want to check if the stuff I posted above will work in your computer before buying it, so you don't waste your money.
  22. Optimize My system

I updated my post. Don't go for tinkerbell's recommendation. That card isn't the best one you can get for that price. EDIT: You are wrong for once (first part of your post), he has a 550 watt. He can power a GTX 260.
  23. Optimize My system

Why would he need a new CPU heatsink? I doubt his 2.0GHz will even near overheating temperatures with a stock cooler. My suggestion is ~ 80 dollar on a new CPU and ~ 100 dollar on a new GPU. If your motherboard only supports a 800MHz FSB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116074 If your motherboard supports a 1066MHz FSB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116091 Graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127423 If you do decide to get a 9800 GT, don't go for tinkerbell's recommendation. Go for the following. It is the same price after rebate with a MUCH higher clock and better cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125270 BTW, can you tell us your motherboard make and model?
  24. I don't find this feature useful, because I have no friends. Nice addition though. Maybe I should start making friends!
  25. Optimize My system

Processor holding you back too, since Source engine is very processor reliant.
