  8. Asking about definitions is being pedantic. As I said before, just because a word is part of it, does not mean its definition adds to it. Also, many, many words have multiple definitions. Having lived in the US for my entire life, I've never heard a highway/street called a parkway.

  11. To make sure the stone is out. Sometimes the stone breaks up into smaller fragments, so they want to be sure it's all out. If it doesn't pass naturally (ungodly painful), they might use ultrasound to break it up.
