If you're going for durability, get a ThinkPad. I have a T500, and it's as sturdy as a rock. Really? HP? The worst laptop maker in the industry? But seriously though, if you're not too picky on graphics and have the cash to spare, get a ThinkPad. I have no regrets about my T500 I got nearly a year ago. It has served me well.

This. It pretty much depends on what mood I am in. Though, some of my favorite songs are on Pearl Jam's 11-02-2000 Portland Official Bootleg. If you're into alternative rock like Pearl Jam, it's amazing. It's not just a single song or a few, the whole damn album is amazing. It's nearly impossible to get now. Now sure how you could go about finding it in a legitimate way. =\

Yeah, 3D doesn't seem too impressive at this moment in time. It doesn't seem like it would have much use other than having a zombie knife come out of your monitor, taunting you when you get zombified. Or perhaps if you view of picture of TCP...

There was a Bio teacher at my old school that was just brutal. He taught the regular Bio classes like an AP Bio class. Seriously, he would pound you in the ass with notes which would run over class time and then assign 3 hours a homework a night. I got transferred into his class for my second semester of Bio. I dropped out of that class after only two weeks.

3GS, even though I absolutely hate AT&T. Everyone I know who has been an iPhone skeptic has been blown away by the iPhone. Android seemed like a good idea a year ago, but after the Nexus One it seems to be lackluster more than anything. Google could (and should) of done better.

I'm sticking with Firefox 3.0 here. Firefox 3.5 is way too unstable for me. I've had crashes and what not with it. Chrome is a nice browser, but it doesn't have the addons that Firefox does. Addons like NoScript, AdBlock Plus, and Web Of Trust are essential to me. Without them I feel naked while browsing the web. I've heard bad things about Safari. A few security-related news stories in the past year have made me weary about Safari. Internet Explorer... Nuff' said.

A 360, really? I would really suggest against a 360. I've had a 360 since 07 and it's been nice and all but the PS3 I got back in December really takes the cake. Seriously, Metal Gear Solid 4 alone is worth the buy. Most games you can get on the 360 you can also get on the PS3, with the exception of Halo and Gears of War. When it all comes down to it, they are both pretty much the same price. The PS3 may cost more alone, but it includes things the 360 doesn't, like Wifi. In the end it is all up to what the person likes. If you want a more solid experience then the PS3 is the way to go. If you want a more fluid experience then the 360 is the way to go. Edit: If you are also planning to use it as a media center for playing movies and stuff, the PS3 is a must.

Damn that sucks man. Parents can be a real pain sometimes. Chemistry is also a really tough class. Even though I play on the Escape server all the time, I will miss you and can't wait to see you back on SG. Good luck with the work man.

I would suggest you wait until at least March, which is when Nvidia is supposed to come out with their new cards. Even if you're not planning on going Nvidia, it will still help lower ATI's prices.

This would be true 2 years ago. But sadly, NVIDIA is not the same company it used to be. Rebrand after rebrand has ruined NVIDIA in my eyes. I just hope they pull themselves out of ATI's fire with the GT300... ...Or else I will have to switch to ATI myself. My 8800 GT doesn't get faster with age.
