  1. Audio Technica AD700 A lot of the audiophiles over at OCN recommend these. I'm thinking of picking up a pair myself. As for my headset (Creative MKII,) I've had them for over 6 months now, and haven't had any problems. I've used them almost every day since I got them. The only issue I have come across with them is that the bass isn't that good. It makes this weird thud kind of sound whenever it encounters really low frequencies. I honestly don't mind it too much, but it can be a real problem if you're an audiophile.
  2. BSODs usually happen if there is a driver or hardware failure. I'm thinking that that last windows update you did somehow corrupted something important somewhere and now the damage has spread. I would try to do Windows Restore but if that doesn't work just reinstall Windows. I would like to know what error code it gives you. That would help pinpoint what exactly is causing it to BSOD.
  3. HTC Evo 4G

Damn. I really want one of these. I don't know if I could justify the $480 price tag (upgrade, no new contract deal) though... Let us know what you think about it after using it for a while. Lets see if it's as good as the hype suggests.
  4. Question

Quality over quantity But quantity is a quality of its own... What to pick...
  5. You have a 260M and it's lagging? That can't be right. My Radeon 3650 is roughly the same as a GeForce 9600 and I have no problems running AA3. There has to be something else software wise causing the slow down on your laptop.
  6. Where is the info on your graphics card?
  7. Yeah what kind of specs does it have? Here is the CPU-Z link for my T500: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1217646
  8. Both of them can blow that game out of the water. My T500 which has a weaker Core 2 Duo P8400 and a weaker Radeon 3650 doesn't have any problems running that game.
  9. Google of course.
  10. It's a dual core. You can make it a virtual quad though with hyperthreading. If you do that though it will essentially cut the core speeds in half. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43537
  11. For most games the i5 is better than the i7, yes. But for games that use more than 2 cores, the i7 will be stronger. To my knowledge there are only very few games that actually use more than 2 cores though.
  12. New PC

I have found Cyberpower to offer more for the same price as HP in the past while I was looking for a laptop. I would think they would be same same way with their desktops. Or you could just get this... xD http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=222-7175
  13. Hmm, for some reason I was thinking that had the same 310M. The 360M GTS is faster than the 5730. Get that then.
  14. In games that only use 2 cores, performance will not be much different. In games that use more than 2 cores, performance will actually be better on the i7. CPUs aside, from the benchmarks listed on that site, the 5730 is about 105.5% faster than the 310M. You will notice a significant different in how games run between the two GPUs. Even if there is some minor bottleneck due to the CPU cores not being as fast, the performance awarded from the 5730 will still make the i7 laptop faster than the i5 laptop while running a 2 core or less game. Basically, get the i7 laptop.
  15. The one I said you should get was the second one. It has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 which is faster than the NVIDIA GeForce 310M.
  16. GPU is short for Graphical Processing Unit. It means the graphics card. If you want the fastest laptop out of the ones you specified gaming wise and don't care about battery life go for this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220696
  17. Post your room!

I like those christmas lights. Where'd you get them?
  18. This one has the fastest GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220696 This one has a dual core that runs faster per core rather than the quad core in the above laptop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220732 I honestly don't know what kind of battery times these laptops have. When it comes to laptops this is one of the most important aspects you can look for (at least for me).
  19. Processors

Cache is like this super-fast memory the processor uses to store stuff on it. It's much faster than regular RAM. Basically, the more of it you have, the faster your processor should be. It's not the main indicator of performance on a processor, but it is very important.
  20. laptop

Don't get an IdeaPad anyways. I've heard bad things about them. If you go Lenovo, get a proper Lenovo. Get a ThinkPad. I've owned and loved my ThinkPad T500 for over a year now. At this point, my next laptop will be another ThinkPad, unless someone else comes out with a durable business-class laptop. As for you, it all depends on what is important to you. If durability is important to you and speed isn't, go for a ThinkPad. If (gaming) speed is more important to you, I would suggest looking into another brand. Also, ThinkPads tend to run on the pricer side compared to other laptops like Toshibas. If you're looking into a cheap entry-level laptop, go for Toshiba or ASUS.
  21. I am now gay.

Now not only are you gay, but you can't be found. Great day, huh?
  22. You can find the custom windows theme here and the wallpaper here.
  23. That's a shame. I'll probably only buy a few tracks then rather than the whole album.
  24. I hate your sig. I guess you know what game I will be playing for the next couple of days...
