I feel your pain for a few years I did phone tech support for IBM. (the computer illiteracy was astounding, especially considering most of the calls were from corporate accounts) Just open the CD-Rom and tell your mom that most computers come with a handy cup holder.

Anyone else here into longboarding? Some would argue that this isn't a sport but I thought this was the most fitting location to post this on the forums... Here are some pics of the boards... 90mm Wheels.. roll right over most anything. And the board that I was riding Friday afternoon.. when I decided to test whether or not the concrete was as hard as it looked..... And yes it's as tall as my 7 year old. The results of the test were as expected.. I've lost about 20% of my skin and am pretty bruised up... but got right back on the board.

In a word .. yes.. In multiple words.. Due to cost of support (lack of decent hardware warranty/warranty support) Lack of software compatibility - (and don't give me that bootcamp/parallels shite.. because in that case you are paying for a Windows OS license and running Windows anyway!) You can also dual boot a pc with linux if you want a real OS. OSX is just Apples way of branding their own flavor of Linux anyway! I have been supporting faculty/staff/student computers on a large scale at a University for almost 10 years now. Apples support, warranty, pricing, software compatability, etc.. has been sub standard the whole damn time.. Every year we get a few users that demand apple computers and guess what.. every time we spend more time/money/effort supporting those few macs than we do supporting properly configured PC's. Back to topic... As for Zune vs. Ipod... Neither.. I like my Sansa, it's cheap reliable and does what I need it to. I would probably set it aside for an iPhone although due to years of frustration with Apple in general I am morally opposed to giving them my business.

I would never use the freezer.. refrigerator maybe.. but bagged and sealed first. Also there are many better ways to address a failing hard drive than sticking it in a frozen/wet environment.
