I'm not arguing that ZE does well on it's own. And I'm also not saying we can't afford the manpower for other servers. What I am saying is that historically when SG pushes hard to populate one server other servers suffer. If that isn't currently the case that's GRRREAT! I can't/won't speak about TTT, because I've yet to join and not have my eardrums broken so I stay away from TTT. I'll be honest I haven't looked closely at the population of the other servers... On the occasions I have glanced at MG it's been pretty low. That being said maybe I read more into this thread than I should have. I know the only servers I play on are SG servers (other than the rare GG server, and only because we don't have one) Every day I go to http://www.top100clans.com and vote from at least 5 unique computers with unique IP's, sometimes up to a dozen computers. We are sitting at 12th place and over 100 of the votes for SG came from me. If 1/2 of our active members voted once a week we'd be in the top 5. If there is any way other than what I am already doing to promote SG I will.

This seems to be a cyclical problem. One server gets the focus (or a majority of it) people have fun and the server rises to the top, unfortunate side effect is that other servers start to decline or die. ZE seems to be going extremely well at the moment and I have played more on that server in the last few months than I had on all SG servers combined in the past year. That being said personally I go through phases where I prefer to play one game or mod over another. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy MG, just not playing on it much now because I am enjoying ZE. What needs to happen is that we need to pick one and only one additional server (other than the working server: in this case ZE) to promote and run events, raffles, etc. on. Example: ZE is going well, so keep promoting it, and try not to peel it's player base off. Pick 1 additional server: I'd recommend MG. Promote MG, events, invite friends, etc. Watch ZE closely to make sure you're not pulling the regs off of ZE to bring MG up. I used to jump into the less populated servers and push building player base, until it had a decent amount of players then jump back to the already popular server that I was enjoying and wanted to play on at the time. There's nothing wrong with that, it just becomes a fine line between promoting the new (or less popular) server, and trying not to reduce the popularity of the other server at the same time. If you try to resurrect more than one server, you'll fail. If you spread your efforts across MG, PB, TTT, Etc. One and only one might succeed, but you'll probably see significant decline in ZE and all but the one succeeding server.

You sell us 'Muricans short. I'm fluent in Portuguese, taking 4th year Italian this semester and speak some Spanish and am working on it as well. Although I agree that the U.S. needs to give better options and increase foreign language training... in some ways they have been. My kids are in a dual immersion school here that teaches 1/2 the day in Mandarin and 1/2 the day in English.

I am about to upgrade from my M7 to the M9 (I usually skip one major release) Having owned several iPhones, I can say Fuck Apple, I'm never going back. I have also owned several Samsung devices (Galaxy S3, Several versions of their tablets) and although I am still very happy with the tablet purchases I can't see myself purchasing another Samsung phone, especially after they did away with a removable battery and micro SD slots for the upcoming release. I will be purchasing the M9, but as with any mobile device... needs, usage, etc. vary highly and you need to go with what works best for you.

Story of my life (I had other commitments during that time period) It would be nice if someone posted a minutes or rundown/bullet points as to what was discussed.

I won't say goodbye, I'll say see you later. I can say being one of the oldest fucks around here... that you can balance both, but you will need to prioritize and clearly right now RL is trump. Don't rule out coming back. We appreciate the time/work you've put in, and don't really expect anyone to dedicate their life to SG. When time allows jump in and say hi.

Holy fucking BUMPed thread batman!

I can't stand the Pat's, but the whole deflate-gate thing is bullshit. The balls were checked by the Referee's, meaning the fault lies with them and the league. The players/team only handled them in game after that. So the League holds full blame for approving and using the balls that were "under-inflated" I'm not a big fan of either team. But I'd at least like a closer game than we had last year. That game sucked!

I remember as a kid the school would stop and they would let us watch the shuttle launches live on tv. This was the day that stopped. RIP. Are any of you old enough to have been around when it happened? My father was working for the company that made the SRB's at the time.

Dear GOD I'm fucking OLD! First DOS based game was Spelunker in 1983, and no that's not a typo. The next year I spent way too much time playing Karateka. I hate threads like this because they just point out the fact that I was gaming before a lot of you were even sperm in your daddy's nut sack!

When I saw the thread I was immediately concerned. A huge thank you Spartan for what you have done for SG. I can honestly say I felt relieved to see Cautions name. He's the right person for the Job. Congrats Caution.

I'm too lazy to post pics, that and I'm at work. I started skiing when I was 8, was a skater throughout middle school and high school, so when snowboarding became popular in the mid 80's it was only natural that I switched to that. My favorite skateboard was (the 87 Simms Pharaoh, I wish I still had that board.) My favorite snowboard was made locally here in Utah and is a nice short custom 148. Sadly work, school, kids, etc. keeps me away from the slopes.

This is a great example of what you can end up looking like when your 12 year old kid takes a picture after you haven't slept for 3 days. Either way this is how much hair you should have after "No Shave November"! Bring on the DecemBeard! (I'll try to post another pic after 1 more month of growth.)
