By no means do I buy into the conspiracies, but patent laws are a joke when it comes to things like this. I do feel the CDC does need to ramp up their preparation levels and if that means they need to have the virus on hand then so be it. This whole Ebola thing reminds me of the Y2K scare. Sure the potential for it to go really wrong is there, but in the end most likely it will turn out to be a lot less of a problem than it could have been. On the other hand it could be the end of society as we know it. Either way I'm not going to lose any sleep.

A large part of the fear of Ebola comes from how it kills you. It's rather brutal and gruesome. It does adapt and has been reported to now have some strains that are airborne. Which would definitely make it harder to contain. The scary part is why it was brought to the US in the first place. The CDC now holds patents on several Ebola strains and intends to patent more variants. The real question would be why you would patent a virus like this one... clearly it's a monetary reason and not altruistic such as the search for cures and/or vaccines. Conspiracy theorists love shit like this... in this case they may have reason.

It's sad that we need a specific day set aside to remind us to appreciate those around us. We all have extreme lows and highs in our lives. Lately I just try to remind myself that when someone is being douchey that I can't possibly know everything going on in their lives right now and for all I know they just suffered a major tragedy. We aren't the first people to walk on this hunk of rock we call Earth... and we aren't going to be the last... The least we could do is try to make it easier on each other. I have had some incredible friends bring me back from dark places. And am now lucky enough to have 2 incredible kids that make life more than worth living for. Be that kind of friend to someone... It's worth it.

I'm undecided on the look, maybe it will grow on me. However it is very nice to see some changes/updates being done and I for one appreciate the time and effort that is being put into it!

I bought an HTC One M7 the day it was released. I had killed yet another iPhone and wasn't going to go the iPhone route again. I have never been happier with a phone purchase. The battery life has been double, sometimes triple what I could get out of my iPhone. It's interface has grown on me. (This is the part where I sound really old) I'm adding a line for my son at some point this month. I'll be handing him my M7 and getting myself the M8. I've dropped my phone a ton and have little to no damage to show for it. I usually don't like agreeing with Harpreet... But in this case I have to. With Phones there is always a certain level of fanboy-ism and strange brand loyalty. So you kinda have to ignore some of the hype and go with what fits your needs best. I have owned several iPhones, a Galaxy S3 (was looking at the s4 but I needed a phone fast and the HTC One launched first) And I'm glad it did. If HTC Continues to produce phones at the quality level of the M7 I will continue to buy from them instead of their competitors. Find a store that has working demos of the models you're interested in and spend a few minutes playing with them. (Tell the salesmen to back the fuck off if they approach you) buy what works for you.
