  1. Made me chuckle when I saw it.
  2. Free stuff? Yes, please.
  3. Google Voice

Yeah, it says domestic and Canada calls are free. I wonder what android phones Sprint has, it might be an interesting thing to look into.
  4. Google Voice

I just recently found Google Voice. It seems like an interesting service, seeing as how it provides you with a phone number, voice mailbox, and many other features such as caller blocking, call screening, and even forwarding a call to multiple phones depending on the time of day or who's calling (which is what drew me in in the first place). I just got an account for myself (for the phone number and other features, when I eventually get a phone), and another account for my parents specifically for the very cheap international calls to countries most of my family lives in. (2 cents/min) Does anyone actively use Google voice? Any complaints about it, or praise for it? Favorite feature?
  5. With the parts you gave to start out with, I think it's impossible to go under $1000 unless you skimp on everything else. I was able to keep it under $1200 however. http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=19572248 (Note, your combo would shave 50 dollars off of this.)
  6. It doesn't seem these are very accurate. They discovered what city I live in. Which is all they really need to do for the features they want to implement. The 99.99% chance of knowing the exact GPS coordinates seems overblown since both me and SgtJoo haven't been exactly marked. It's 1AM, I'm too tired to think of a damaging way malware could use the city I'm in.
  7. You have to play your demo in CSS, and record it using an external program, like FRAPS. The other option is using Source Recorder, which will make an AVI out of all the frames playing in your game. The source recorder option is much higher quality, but may be a bit more difficult depending on how you use it. Here is a MASSIVE thread on using the source recorder and getting videos out of your demos: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=148196
  8. Thread is about a fourth spacial dimension (4+1 dimensions), as opposed to the world as we know it (3+1 dimensions). As others have said, there is probably no way to reach a fourth dimensions from a three dimensional world, unless a fourth dimensional being brings us there for us. (Unless you can stuff so much shit into one place that you're literally pushing matter out of the third dimensions? Maybe black holes connect to a fourth dimension. :confused1:)
  9. I'm more interested in 10, 11, and 26 dimensional string theory. =P Anyway, it's an interesting theoretical topic. Would we be able to reach/discover such a fourth dimension on our own, or would a fourth dimensional "being" have to pull us out?
  10. LOOK AT THOSE AWESOME GRAPHICS. ITS LIKE DIRECTX 5,000,000!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Old demo files will not play on the new engine. If you're having problem playing newly recorded demos on the updated CSS, I don't know what the problem is.
  12. css lag...

Wow, shitty update is shitty. I spent a good half hour trying to find out what was causing that huge ping... Thanks MPQC.
  13. I was stuck using them at one point. I have used one to connect both my XBox and PC when I had no way to access my wireless router due to a bad wireless card. You won't be getting very fast speeds with them, and their performance can vary greatly depending on the wiring in your house. (I got very different speeds when either flipping the device around in the same plug, or switching which plug it's connected to.) However, I WAS able to connect and play on my XBox games just fine, as well as on my PC. Hopefully, you'll get the results you want if you go with this solution.
  14. So, like Alcatraz? There is an easy way for map makers to implement this in the normal PB server: just make your escape room the place to plant the bomb. (You might be able to give everyone a bomb, not sure about this though.) Still, I sort of like the sound of it. I'm iffy on the idea to have a server dedicated to such a design, but it would be a nice complement to the normal PB maps. (Like Alcatraz...)
  15. Almost every program has a generic list like that. For instance, delete clientregistry.blob (or whatever it's called...). I know that when I deleted that my minimizing was acting differently, so it may help if verifying the cache doesn't. Not sure why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. It could have something to do with reinitializing directX, although how it works exactly is beyond me.
  16. English- Fluent Polish- Somewhat. It's actually my first and native language, so I can understand a lot of the basics. However, I rarely speak it, so I find it hard to communicate with it... (Guests who come over are often confused, since my mom usually talks to me in Polish, but I reply in English.) Spanish- Enough to pass high school Spanish class.
  17. This, please. Really annoying to have thrown off stats.
  18. Don't ban him please, he's a great free entertainment source. D:
  19. Firefox ATM. I've tried chrome, but at this point I'm just too used to Firefox. Only time I would use chrome is if I ever planned on having many many MANY tabs open at the same time, so one page crashed I wouldn't have to open it all up again...
  20. Depends on how old that computer is exactly. Make sure the motherboard has a PCIe 2.0 16x port (for the graphics card), and the PSU has to be at least 450W if you want to upgrade your video card to something decent. Otherwise, it sounds good.
  21. What use would the military have with 1W lasers when they could easily have some that are 10 or 100 times as powerful. The entire "controversy" around this laser is that there seems to be no reason to exist other than let people hurt themselves. (And be cool.)
  22. Off topic, but I'd imagine it would be very helpful in deterring people killing innocents (since you'd lose points) and promoting the terrorists to do stuff.
  23. Need help again

...Where are you finding these? For $25 more than your previous system, I'd go for it. (The CPU, RAM amount, and Video card are the same as the ones I currently have. Those alone ran me about $450 when I got my computer. ;_;) You would also be able to overclock your CPU if you felt like it.
  24. cl_crosshairscale 2200 Slightly more superior to all.
  25. Ketch needs help

That graphics card seems to be the exact same as the 9800 GTX+, which is what I use currently. (I'm not kidding. The new one is only 1.5 inches shorter, that's the only difference. Compare: 9800 GTX+ vs GTS 250) But it's a very good graphics card, handles everything I throw at it very well. Dual-core CPU is fine for a gaming computer, no problem there. Only big concern is the 2GB of RAM. That will not be enough for even CSS unless you use XP. And a nightmare for any video editing program such as Vegas. Luckily, it's easy to upgrade RAM. Hopefully it has a 64 bit operating system, in which case you can go with another 4GB of RAM (for a total of 6GB), but if you have a 32 bit OS you can only upgrade up to 4GB. It's a fine computer for a great price. (When I bought my 9800 a bit ago, it cost $200 by itself...) However, I strongly recommend more RAM if you are using Vista or Windows 7. Otherwise, I still recommend at least 1 more GB of ram. Video editing needs it.
