  1. I might be able to fill the part of getting AVIs from demos. I'll try it out to see if I can get decent quality ones.
  2. New PC

The HP Pavilion Elite has wireless N, a Blu-Ray drive, a card reader, and 8GB ram. The Cyberpower has a better video card and 4GB ram. Since both 4GB and 8GB of ram should suit your purposes fine, it's only a matter if you care for the best graphics performance given by the Cyberpower PC, or the usability of the HP PC. I should add that both of them should be able to play any game you throw at them. The Cyberpower will just do it a bit better. So, take your pick. If you have no need for the wireless internet, Blu-Ray drive, and card reader, I'd go with the Cyberpower.
  3. New PC

Another good gaming PC. Should be everything you want. (Even comes with blu-ray drive) But I have to advise you against buying monitors from Newegg. They have a shit return policy on dead pixels. Almost all online retailers do. I suggest going to a brick-and-mortar store to get your monitor. (I got my Acer 24" at CompUSA, couldn't be happier.)
  4. New PC

It's always difficult to find exactly what you want with prebuilts. Also, Newegg DOES have a section for them. Here's one I found that fits your budget and seems like it has what you'd want: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229137 Of course, look through it yourself to double check.
  5. New PC

Does that include a new monitor? That can take a large portion of your budget depending on what you're looking for. I haven't dealt with pre-built computers much, so I can't say much in the way of what models are amazing and what companies you can trust. But with $1,500 you can get a very good gaming PC.
  6. That's incorrect. The wattage rating says what kind of PSU most computers would need to run their card. For instance, the card I recommended uses only about 173 watts at full load. (See here for a list of graphics cards' power consumptions. The card I've shown is the fourth down.) However, I did find some discrepancies between the various pages I've shown. Some pages recommend 400W as a minimum (such as here), while others recommend 500W (such as here). Seeing as how this card uses about 175 at full load, and the CPU can use up to 130W (if it's a higher-end i7, most use up to 100W), that leaves about 100W of wiggle room with all your other components until you reach full capacity on a 400W PSU. And that's quickly filled with all the other components such as the motherboard, ram, hard drives and disk drives. Upon further inspection, I figure you could use more than 400W. Toxins would be fine, but with a little digging I found a nice OCZ 550W PSU, that's modular (what this means, is that there isn't a mess of wires for you to deal with. ), and for only $55 after the mail-in rebate ($70 without the rebate). 550W should be plenty for you.
  7. Generally, the higher the wattage rating, the more efficient the PSU is at a lower wattage. If you want your PSU to run a bit cooler (due to higher efficiency), and you feel you can afford the extra $20 or $30 dollars for 50/150 watt increase (respectively), then go ahead. However, that's usually just user preference. I don't think you'll find a big difference between 400 and 450 watts. Being exact isn't necessary. As long as you meet the minimum wattage, you'll be fine.
  8. @toxin Yeah, I didn't bother looking for a higher one, since it seems he's on budget. If you dig around, you can probably find a good PSU with higher wattage, but if you aren't going to be adding a lot of stuff to your current computer (such as a high-end video card) then 400 should be plenty.
  9. Here's a good power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139008 It's lower wattage, but has a good name attached to it (and good ratings). It's also very quiet. 400 watts should be plenty considering you're coming from a 165 watt PSU. Should run any video card you plan to put into your PC. Tiger direct version: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=4236686&sku=C13-2507&srkey=CMPSU-400CX The only possible problem I see with the power supply you found is the lack of SATA connectors: it only has 2, meaning you can only have either two hard drives and no disk drives, or one hard drive and one disk drive. Don't get it if you plan on ever having more, such as getting a second disk drive, or a second hard drive... The cables might be short too, judging from one of the reviews... With your budget, I would buy this guy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102855 Judging from the reviews, it will play CSS flawlessly. And it can also handle Crysis, L4D2, Assassin's Creed 2, Starcraft 2... etc etc. Also, the fan shouldn't be too loud either. Tiger direct version: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5222605&SRCCODE=GOOGLEBASE&cm_mmc_o=VRqCjC7BBTkwCjCECjCE Here's the same card with a different manufature. It doesn't have rebates, but it's cheaper. Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814141114&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Video+Cards-_-Biostar-_-14141114 Tiger Direct: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5680859&SRCCODE=GOOGLEBASE&cm_mmc_o=VRqCjC7BBTkwCjCECjCE Some have rebates, others don't. I'm too lazy to analyze each card with shipping to find out their final prices with rebates. So I'm letting you decide which one to get, if you want one with rebates or without, which one is cheapest with shipping, etc.
  10. Ok, thanks Drox. I asked why it wasn't allowed in game, no one gave me a reasonable reason. (They did say I'd get flamed for asking, lol.)
  11. When the Ts get really annoying on the mics, can you order them not to use them? I jokingly used that order and a few people got warning shot due to it. (Then various people said it wasn't allowed.) Obviously, not an order you can abuse. But can you use it at all? I don't see anything prohibiting it in the MOTD or the !rules tab. I'd certainly enjoy using it, especially when 5 ts start yelling freeday and all hell breaks loose.
  12. What the hell happened to this CT?!
  13. God damn it, I missed the bear EVEN THOUGH I WAS LOOKING FOR HIM (while counting passes). FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
  14. It has to do with attention. I can't remember where I read it, but it's impossible to "multi-task" in the literal sense of the word. You can only focus on one thing at a time. Multi-tasking as we know it is simply switching your attention between multiple things, and when you're focusing on one thing, you can't focus on another. (Unless you text so much that it literally becomes second nature, to the point you can do it without even thinking about it.) I didn't catch all the questions, but I did correctly count the number of "pedestrian points". Didn't catch the thing they showed in the rewind either. So, I guess that means 1/3 of the tests was passed for me. ;_; Anyway, don't text while your vehicle is moving, and you're the one driving it. =3
  15. Interesting. I'll give it a try, and I'll recommend it to my friend who has serious FPS issues. (He uses SmartClose, which closes background tasks, but apparently this does a bit more than that.)
  16. I am now gay.

Gray is just one letter away from gay. I'd say it's pretty close.
  17. Corsairs are very reliable.
  18. For pure performance, I'd get the 5970. But, judging from those reviews in the link you gave us, don't get it from that manufacturer. The GTX 480 is a great card too, though. If it's cheaper and you want to save some money, it will suit your purposes fine. Voted 5970 since it's more powerful.
  19. Got a build set up for ya: https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=19142908 $685, all components you need in the tower. You can upgrade the video card if you have the budget, since I picked one that will play all the games today at top settings, or near top for the demanding games. You don't really need a power CPU to play games these days. It's mostly in the GPU. So I picked a good, cheap AMD processor. I made this really quick, so while everything should fit together, I didn't check. If you have any questions about it, just ask.
  20. It is like that. Warning shots are required for everything except immediately threatening/rebelling acts. This would include going in CT areas, having a primary, or disobeying orders and attempting to rebel. (For instance, getting out of the water in when ordered to stay in, and running toward a CT, gun, or vent.)
  21. Just to confirm, this is a multigame map, right? Why vote on which websites appear. Won't most of them? It would make more sense to ask for suggestions, I would think.
  22. There's a certain image I'm thinking of right now. ("Japan before, Japan now. America before, America now.") Anyway, this is good for lulz. Otherwise, I really don't care about what other people believe, or who they hang out with, or what they wear. If they want to run around howling during a full moon, they're free to do so (as long as they don't fucking wake me up). But, I'm still kind worried about the "what's next". No one can ever predict what teens will do next. They'll either make more funny stories such as these, or create more gang-like crap.
  23. That's probably your CPU McBride. CPU's really shouldn't get over 80, although they'll still function. They also idle at low temps, since when they idle very little is going on. GPUs, on the other hand, have to process the desktop and send signals to the monitor when they idle, so they already won't idle very low. And they do much more work at full load. (A lot of the temps discussed were GPU temps.) However, if that is your GPU, do you mind telling me which model it is?
  24. Must be dusty. x.x Did it always run like that?
  25. Ok, then you should be fine on both accounts. GPUs generally get much hotter since they run so many calculations at once, and are often more powerful than CPUs. I certainly wouldn't try overclocking that thing with stock cooling though.
