  1. Im with red here. Or you can take my route, embrace the dark side, sol, and be a lawyer. Take all that suffering... and use it to make money and make other people's life arbitrarily miserable, happy, etc in doing so. And now.. intermission: EwTZ2xpQwpA
  2. omega, they dont call any of the grad school students, only undergrads. We are essentially there for decoration so the school has a full student section. that is the problem, we are fucking wall paper so the school's profs can all show up on their public access channel.
  3. Red its @ the MAIN campus of the univ, on the green for the main. THATS why im mad, the sun comes from all 4 directions, outdoors, and the UG's arent subjected to our gig.
  4. So you understand, let me explain the festivities: I have to muster @ 7 AM at the law school on the Saturday after graduation, to get a fucking lecture of proper behavior at a graduation (ive been through 2 already, I think I know wtf Im doing and what not to do), THEN they want us to sit through someone reading from the Koran, Bible, and Talmud (because we are just that religious at the school) then take a busride to the law school (because we are apparently not old enough to make it there ourselves), and sit for 2 hours while they prepare procession, in the seats, which are those little black fold ins, shoulder to shoulder in full length doctoral robes (thats wool people). (9 am, May Washington DC through about 1 pm outdoors), graduation for undergrad starts at that point and for 2 hours I have to listen to some blowhard and watch the professors in their turkey outfits, and listen to all 3500 undergrads called out. AFTER 2-3 hours I get to go to my own law school graduation (thank god) in an air conditioned auditorium, which will take as long, because we have hoods and whatnot to put on. After everybody and their brother speaks, we MAYBE will be released about 5-6 pm. Throughout the time, I cant use cellphone, etc. to tell the folks what is going on, and they are only allowed tickets to the law school thing. Their whole reason? Last year, the law students and med students decided to go to their own graduation, but not attend the undergrad one (mind you, they are not to be at ours). I just feel like I would rather have the graduation with my peers/colleagues that I suffered through this 3 year hell with, and be with relatives that want to see the first lawyer in the immediate family graduate rather than being subjected to a secondary, unnecessary event that will not actually include the law students in any meaningful way. I'm bitter because I'd rather see my relatives than sit through 3500 people's names who i dont know, my relatives, who are only going to be there for about 35 hours, AND I have to miss my little goddaughter's communion (some shithead fucked up scheduling in the important family events category).
  5. Very True. I cant count yet, still gotta pass this semester. LOL
  6. and decrepit old people that need wills. w00t. Anyone see the new SP?
  7. nice of you to ask polka, I'll be taking the test July in FL. You have to have a JD in most states in order to sit for the Bar.
  8. Okay, So after 3 years, ungodly amounts of money spent, I am graduating law school. I get to put on my Harry Potter Hogwartz outfit and go get my 90K diploma, hopefully the last diploma ill need. Law school graduation is a separate, lively affair, 2-3 hours and you GTFO to eat something with your family have a beer, then batten down the hatches for the BAR. The school is making attendance to undergraduate graduation mandatory. UG grad at my school is the longest, drawn out :cursing::cursing::cursing: I have to sit through an other, separate 3-4 hour graduation on top of my own. WTFZOR Why cant I just go to MY graduation. I dont know any UG students, nor do I care to. I am a law student graduating, not an undergrad, or Grad student. Professional school students should not be required to sit through 3449503 names of random fucktards. Goddamnit. I went through undergraduate graduation less than 3 1/2 years ago. I'd really prefer to avoid it. Stupid dip-shittery

  15. OMFG that was stress relief bar none
  16. "but it's a certain oil/gas company" It wasnt really a bursting of my bubble, rather a withholding of a critical piece of information, but hey, again, you didnt mention it. Well thats not too bad. Why didnt you say it was oil/gas at the beginning? I really think you should still take some sort of economics component considering what you are getting into, even if as a minor. Political Sci usually means "touch my self at starbucks until grad school"
  17. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=264868 holy multicore optimization batman!

  21. slangin' rock for the government.
  22. Dude, i dont hate you. I just hate to see someone make reverberating errors financially. RE: Loans: Dude, that is the way student loans work, even low interest government provided one, the interest rate varies and fixes depending on the fed, and under certain types of loans, the LIBOR. Its not a loan like an adjustable rate subprime (which seems to be what you are thinking of) that have been on the news as of late. Its great to see that your folks are going to help, you didnt mention that at first, and it does make a big diff. Without the degrees as in HS degree only? WTF kind of career outside of slangin' rock gives you 50-70 w/no degree?
  23. 46K in loans at a variable 6-12 % rate based on LIBOR is a LOT of money man, and depending on your payback plan and post school work may be a lot more than you can handle. Esp. with the major you are planning. BTW, scholarships and grants may not last all 4 years. I know many people who lost scholarships, grants, etc. for random reasons from grades, to endowments running out. Putting the cart before the horse is bad.
  24. Or you could just go to Moscow at the Universityet moscovscy @ a much cheaper rate without paying stetsons rate. Also, agreements with other countries are often subject to change, I'd keep an eye on that. My issue with this school is that it is over priced, and the programs there leave a lot to be desired at undergrad and law. I considered them before committing to both FSU and my law school. Wait, do you already have any ties to russia, russians, etc, or is this as we cubans call it "una paja mental". (mental masturbation) Not to be a dick (Im concerned bc I hate seeing people piss money away on fraudulent educational pursuits.), but what exactly do you want to do, and how do you plan to pay back the loans, etc? You should seriously consider studying it and economics @ least for a semester, it is extremely important in the working world to be at least familiar to those subjects. I'd add in one finance class as well. Self sufficiency in these areas prevents you from being one of these Epic Fail douches that declared bankruptcy 5593 times for lack of common sense.
