Nah, it's Monday !

This is an old pic taken at my last house, at the time when we were moving. Still a good shot :-) I've got rid of the Sony Laptop and one PC...and now work on 1 MacPro (on bootcamp) , MacBook and a lenovo PC... EDIT: I tried to fit in the dogs....but the pug was the only one I cud fit :-(

Alright...let me just clarify my role. I'm NOT going to be president or anything. My role is related to Channelfuse, and I play a facilitator/advisor role which suits me. I'll spend a lot of time in these coming few week, and set up the new-look SG. Once that is done, I'll work on some other site. So, what after me ? Well, Charles will be involved in a more active cpacity than me, and he'll ply an important role at SG. Still, I believe SG should be run by someone who knows the communit inside out.... There were a lot of candidates....and the final selection does not mean others are not good enough for this role. But there was only one position, and I hope Paul does a hell of a job running SG.

I haven't seen PotShots idea...but in short, this is what the intentions re - 1- BDs confirms the credentials, history and tech know-how of the candidate. 2- If the candidate qualifies above, the community confirms his popularity. In the end, we get a capable and popular admin. Every's happy. So, wht the fuck is the problem here?

1- No. It's an honorory position... and not a commitment. 2- Each member in the top tier would be responsible for a part of this community. Like, member A would be President - Forum Management , member B would be President - Server Management ... etc etc. This would be discussed today, and announced in 1-2 days.

Yes, it'll be private, and no one would be allowed to post except BDs and Top Tier members. Only members with >100 posts can vote, so that there is no sock voting as well. Veteran members get more permissions and recognition. But most of them might not be as active, and thus we will not give them any task at all. We'll listen to their advices, since they have earned the right to be heard. Well, 60% in favor... and the rest would include members who 'don't care' or don't have an opinion. It should be enough to form a consensus. If we can choose our government with these numbers, SAs should not be an issue.

Essentially...yes. Also..before anyone asks me abt the veteran members - A 'veteran' member is one who has served SG and helped it grow to where it is today. This is a prestigious group of members that truly represent SG. So, postcount whores and inactive pilot members are not part of the group.

BDs (and in some cases AOs) can nominate members for the rank of SA. But, it will have to go through a public vote .. and would need atleast 60% votes in favor.

Here is my list of ranked members -(being reviewed by the BDs) I'm not mentioned, since I won't carry any title. I don't deserve any coz I probably won't be as active anyways. I'll act as a facilitator. The ranks are self-explanatory and the powers/permissions and roles for each usergroup will be listed in detail in next 24 hrs. I am truly flaterred...but lets not overdo things. Plz don't patronize me so much....so that you might just be dissapointed in the future knowing tht I'm just a simple guy.

You know, there are more powerful chat-box sstems which can be moderated and such.... users can be banned....text moderated....controlled environment...just like IRC. Technology these days.....
