  2. They'll take 200gb of ram if you can fit it, that won't change whether or not they run out of physical addresses for the ram. They're probably using some kind of tricks to get it to work because the physical address limit of 32bit systems is not an OS limit and has been around since before windows even existed.

  5. GPU ram is used exclusively for when the vidcard needs to shove textures or shaders or somesuch into RAM. System ram is used for EVERYTHING. It's kinda like saying you should have nothing but fuel lines and no gas tank because gas moves faster through fuel lines...

Your both wrong and potshot thinks resellerratings is a scam site so that shows how much he knows too. 32bit runs out of physical addresses around 4gb, programs can be made to recognize more than the 4th gig of ram if they're Large Address Aware. The reason you see 3.2-3.5gb of ram is because every bit of ram used by your videocard is mirrored by your system ram. So if your videocard has 2gb of onboard ram you'll lose 2gb of ram from your system. That's why videocards with more than 1gb of ram are so rare. You want to trust $650 worth of equipment and your LIFE to a $30 piece of shit power supply? Tell me are you the same guy that figures when his "Check Brakes" light is on instead of paying to repair his brakes he'll just ride around without a seatbelt and with the door unlocked so he can just jump out? Because that's the same level of life and property endangering stupid that using an off-brand power supply is. Why is it that people always listen about everything else EXCEPT the power supply? If this was FIRE instead of Electricity you'd listen, so why not listen now? If you can't afford a decent power supply you can't afford a computer. Just like if you can't afford working brakes you can't afford a car.
  7. The beams go nonvisible half the time for most people anyway, that's why you see medics toggling on and off pretty often. They're not doing anything special, they just want to shiny beam to appear.

I'm going to stick my yellow little neck out here and say that in the ~2-3 years I've been playing on Zombiemurder and now Steamgamers servers Bay has been one of the admins that, when I see him on the playerlist, I know it's a good time to join the server. Hell it used to be him and super nublet that I'd stick near to avoid getting abused by Hunter when he was an admin. I know a verdict's already been reached and Shit Be Happening in the higher up circles but I think all that really matters is: Bay, I hope you stick around man because you're pretty cool to Escape with. [edit] P.s. TCP is not fet, he's just big polygonned.

    Thanks, was kinda a suprise, I was honestly expecting a complaint and/or strike by now given the way some people bitch about me in the servers but I guess I impressed the higher ups. Hell I'm still suprised I haven't been banned yet given how often I seem to get into arguments about various things >.>

    Since this has turned into a generic windows-expansion thread: I use UltraMon to manage both screens seperately and slap a decent working taskbar on the other screen.

    In the future either use the admin UI to kick people or their steamid from the console, what happened is you kicked everyone with an A in their name. Unless a multi-part anything is inside quotes, and sometimes even when it is, half-life only sees the first thing. So "A Fat Chick" shows up as "A" to the computer.

  22. The screenshot command you want is "Jpeg", Screenshot will save a TGA file instead.

    I use a flat blue desktop background. I've never had to look at it long enough to bother with anything fancier.
  24. Embarq for DSL and Stellar Communications/Shentel for cable, literally the only "choices" this area has ever had.
  25. Wierd, on amazon USA the AD700's are only $80 which is like 40 pounds.
