  1. Depends on your resolution and DPI. 1024x768 with 2000DPI I used a sensitivity of about 2, same resolution but at 5700DPI I use 1. You do need to "fuck with" the sensitivities though because if you dont many defaults will leave you with pixel-skipping and acceleration which is a Very Bad Thing. The "right" sensitivity is a mix between what works best for you and true precision. Obviously you need to get used to having truly precise aiming but once you do the skill cap will be a LOT higher.
  2. Gigabit ethernet "officially" requires cat6 because they claim cat5e isn't made to tight enough specs for the extra crap expected of it. In reality if you don't mind a sometimes flaky under high stress connection you'll be fine. Gigabit ethernet is also not $500, even a business gigabit router with VPN and built in security from cisco is less than $150. For a consumer a linksys (owned by cisco...) wireless 802.11N band router with 4 gigabit ethernet ports will run you right about $100 even. Also bulk cable's good IF you REALLY trust your own cabling skills, otherwise just buy 50 and 100ft increments for like $10 like the rest of us mere mortals.
  3. PC. Webcam. We did it first.
  4. DPI, windows sensitivity, and game sensitivity all interact in wierd ways. Now, assuming you turned "enhance pointer precision" in windows off and turned off acceleration everywhere else (including using the CPL mouse fix), here's how it works: Windows sensitivity is simple. Dead center in the slider settings will be 1:1, raising it makes your mouse pointer skips pixels to move faster but with less precision. This is the same way ingame sensitivity works, higher sensitivity actually means you start moving 2 pixels at a time or 4 pixels at a time. DPI is the mouse's internal scanning resolution. Higher DPI feels like higher sensitivity but unlike sensitivity you don't lose any precision. The ideal is always your highest DPI and 1:1 sensitivity with the lowest ingame sensitivity. ^^^ That is why you don't want acceleration or to use sensitivity rather than DPI to raise your speed. At 5700DPI I use a sensitivity of 1 ingame.
  5. Someone needs to get an M590 and have it inlaid or something so [sG] and Zombie Murder are on it. Best. Swag. Ever.
  6. Keyboards

It's also a $180 motherfarkin keyboard that doesn't even have the decency to use fully mechanical keyswitches. The g15 was worth it for some of us because of the screen and absurd number of macro keys bindable, and because it wasnt that much even new when I got mine, this is too much for a non-mechanical keyboard.
  7. Most people use quality headphones (which the steelseries are not) and a seperate microphone. If you want to keep using speakers, and since the z5500's are freakin awesome speakers I can see why you might, then your best bet is to get a really directional microphone and pray. Btw dont get a USB microphone, no way to adjust the volume if it's too quiet like mine always is.
  8. Aw man I used to have this awesome 3520x1200 spread before all my trinitrons died >.
  9. It on occasion aggravates me too, but tbh I don't think I've ever actually seen someone get booted by a reserved slot user. Unless someone's calling for admin help I'll just put steam on Autojoin and wait for a slot to open rather than force-connecting and booting someone. It's pretty rare even during peak time to need to wait for more than ~5-10 minutes to get in.
  10. deluxe is just the regular bf2 and the special forces CDs in the same box. If you dont install SF and register though you won't get double-unlocks. Also: Software piracy is illegal citizen!
  11. The question is why would you want to? The SF addon gives you double the unlocks per level.
  12. The GTX 260 hands down, the 9000 series was basically just a slightly overclocked 8000 series.

  14. You can't buy a 32bit processor anymore so it's a pointless debate. Without getting technical the best explanation is also inaccurate to the literal truth but good enough: 64bit processors are "smarter" than 32bit processors in that they do more with a given clock cycle than the 32bit does (3.2ghz = 3,200,000,000 cycles per second). The actual truth is more complicated and involves everything from instruction sets, bandwidth, the address limit, memory remapping holes, and other vagaries of modern computing but as far as anyone not programming ever needs to know (especially now that all processors are 64bit) a 64bit processor is just more efficient than a 32bit processor. [edit] Seriously I'm not kidding, the pentium4 was 64bit. Every processor since roughly 2004 has been 64bit.
  15. As do you good sir, that's exactly what I was answering. "Of course" it's another tranny. The ability to respond to people who assume I'm a girl with "I'm a dude. So is the avatar." is the best way of dealing with that kind of tosser >P

  16. No, cat6 is NOT faster any more than the autobahn's cement is faster than ours. It's a cable. The difference is that cat6 is designed to handle the tighter specs required of gigabit ethernet while cat5 might or might not be able to handle it because of it's looser specs. Think of a competition rifle vs a weekend plinking rifle, same basic gun but one is manufactured to much higher requirements. If you want gigabit ethernet speeds you need cat6 and computers+routers capable of it, it gets expensive. Plus you'll likely never use even 1/2th of the available speed of gigabit ethernet. Voltage: just get a regular straight ethernet cable, NOT crossover cable.
  17. Monoprice.com for cables. Even 75ft of CAT6 is only about $9. Ordinary Cat5e is about $7 for 75ft.
  18. Of course. Best way of dealing with all the tossers that for some reason assume the "E" in my name means I must be a girl.

  19. After a recent (embarassing) experience I think it should be pointed out to the rest of us newbies that the server WILL remember your preferences in regards to using admin skins, which means you can change your name and come in undercover and still be using the giant demon/spacemarine skin with "[sG] ADMIN" plastered all over your back...
  20. Kimber passes better than most but yeah to a real woman, and considering the precedent, she's relatively obvious as are about 99% of transgendered people.

  21. Doesn't mean you can't take great pleasure in not warning them about the pit of death they're about to step over though. They should've been paying more attention to everyone else who was carefully avoiding that spot...
  22. RIP Daze

    http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/goodnight-sweet-prince Newbs.
  23. And then the instant they see an admin is gone they all go back to being an utter loving rear end in a top hat. If they're always unsure of whether an admin is watching or not they're less likely to misbehave when they don't see one. No, you're just sick of getting caught every time you think there isn't an admin around.
  24. It's one of my avatars, do you really need (or want) to know? In order they've been Vaniity, Alexis, Areeya, and Kimber James. All of them M->F transgendered pornstars, all of them part of my eternal and standing revenge on the innumerable idiots that despite the barry-white voice over the microphone are somehow convinced that the E in Shadowex3 makes me a girl rather than a dude whose name includes a monty python joke.

In the server though they're all real girls, although that's usually fairly explicitly self-evident then.
