If you bought the silver pack when HL2 first came it out swapped out your previous steamid for the new one since it contained the entire back catalogue. I should know, I've still got screenshots burned to random old backup discs from when Team Fortress had it's name changed from Classic to 1.5, and before it supported 1600x1200 and other high resolutions.

My very first post here, over a year ago. I'd gotten banned by an admin who had, at the time, accused me of insulting him and spent two maps cussing me out for it before finally banning me. If I posted that today do you think it'd be just me and henda in it or would there be another 4-6 admins all attacking me at the same time?
Do you think if they'd done that I would've just said "Ok cool, I'll wait out the three days" and gone on to be here another ~15 months? Or would I have probably flamed right back.

Greasy cheezburger's thread proves it. the appeal forum posting restrictions NEED to be reinforced. Just look at his thread. Right off the start a random admin calls him a liar.
Then obez does it too, even while saying that Cloud had said to lift the ban if it was ever appealed.Then cranks accuses him of lying AGAIN. Then you come in and do the same thing because he used the name monkeyballs, and beth finally refuses his appeal against the stated wishes of the original admin.
He finally loses it after 4+ admins all curbstomping him in a thread they should never have been posting in beth accuses him of not having his straight and "copping an attitude".
I'd "cop an attitude" too if I posted an appeal and 4 people came at me at once calling me a liar and telling me that even though they're supposed to remove my ban they won't because I'm a lying little liar. Do you really expect someone to not insult you guys back when you treat them like that?

That's why i'm thinking that the best way to go about this would be to say NOBODY posts in ANY complaint thread, player or otherwise, unless they're directly involved in the incident (with proof) or are the deciding overseer.
It could be justified by saying that it's supposed to be like the player complaints forum to begin with but since admins need to be able to respond the forum priveleges don't quite let you restrict them from posting there properly and the other rule just got lost in a forum shuffle somewhere.
That way nobody gets accused of anything, nothing is blamed on any one person, and the same end gets accomplished more diplomatically. Plus there's just plain less work for BD's to do with less posts being made.

I've noticed a trend in the admin complaints forum that lately 5-6 admins will all jump on someone the instant they post a complaint and start defending their fellow admin, which tends to put someone who's already got a chip on their shoulder way into paranoid land.
There used to be a rule that anyone not directly involved in a situation would be penalized if they posted in the thread, Obv that's not a problem in player complaints but since admins can post in any forum I can't think of any reason why not to have that rule.

yeah but an actual nude/topless pic showing estrogen driven and surgically sculpted breasts on a MTF transsexual is a LOT more convincing to a server full of VERY jaded internet-goers.

It helps that they tend to have very convincing cleavage. It's a lot of fun to get half the server talking about whether "she" is hot or not and then let them know it's a dude.
