  1. GCSE RESULTS:O!

What some people are referring to with the "You can only get a C grade" is that these exams are for "lesser students" who aren't expected to get any higher then a C and whilst in a Higher test if you don't get a C then you fail in this paper you have a D or E grade to fall back on if you don't get the C grade. But still.....a C is a C and it's not that good.
  2. GCSE RESULTS:O!

To any Americans wondering if these grades are good..... They aren't C is the average grade apparently but when it comes down to it if you don't get a B or higher then you won't be following the subject up in A levels, but for lower courses a D or E is fine. You will most likely get accepted into college with those grades, but you will be lucky to get accepted for any harder subjects (i.e. no maths, science...) Still well done on not failing completely....but that C/D in English is pretty poor but good luck anyway.

  4. I don't think I could possibly ever do what you've done in that heat. When I was in Turkey it got up to 50c at times and it was hard to just walk around yet alone work for 4 hours a day for 5 weeks ;/ A good thing to have on your CV for college or uni or even a job or whatever if you are approaching that kind of stuff too, but I'm guessing 5 weeks out there wasn't so cheap. I've seen programmes like this for trips to Africa and they cost 2 or 3 thousand pounds for 3 weeks and considering you spend most of the time working I find it a bit ironic.
  5. I'm steaming into the lead

  8. I would think that when these shirts aren't being mass produced they would cost a lot more. But it's not like you're buying some £100 chavvy shirt.....it's hardly TOO expensive like Garfield's thongs

  11. No one is in the group if they've been in it less then a year I add people every month or two by month.....so yeah if I add people who joined August 08 on 1st August anyone who joined 31st August hasn't been here a year but ok........if anyone has it's not because I've invited them I think that a year is enough for you to be known as an old timer even if people from March 07 don't so.

  17. I will dignify that post with a :(

  18. I got into the habbit of bunking too, and the relaxed attitude my college has had about it hasn't really helped.

Even if I shouldn't be blaming people who don't pretty much force me to do this stuff if they did and I looked back I'd be grateful to them, but barely anyone has done that for me and those who have have got the best out of me.

Lazy and reliant on my behalf but oh well xD

  19. Exactly like you.....I've coasted through education without EVER revising more then an hour or two before an exam, with the exception of my Maths GCSE which I did 1 year early and got an A in, I revised like 5 hours for that.

That got me big headed and I lacked the will or need to revise and then suddenly I started getting C's in subjects I could easilly get A*'s or A's in and I even failed some GCSE's because I couldn't be asked to do coursework or something stupid like that.

Part of that has been not having a CLUE what I want to do after education but also I've always never done homework unless the punishment outweighs the effort of doing it etc so it's going to be hard for me to crack on and get the results I need to get into Uni, but then again it's not the hardest thing lol

  20. Me too.

I'm fairly certain of what my results will be.

I flunked my Sociology due to complete disinterest in the subject and then epicly failing the exam by answering wrong questions (cheap of them to put several questions in one booklet) without me knowing.

Psychology and English lang+lit......probably a C because I just did them averagely and will probably use the retake in January to get a proper grade.

Economics......well I had a terrible exam and my hand writing is readable and my English is good but my style has always been odd and slow and I didn't revise one of the modules very well either so I might end up staying in college for 4 years and taking up another subject so that I end up with 4 A levels (if I retake economics and do another A level) which isn't too bad because I will have 4 A levels which is useful for Uni and I'm in no rush to get through education.

  21. Happy to help when I can :d
