  1. I can't get Song Tapper to give me one correct answer. It's the most god awful tool I've ever used. I tapped MJ's Thriller, it gave me Parents Just Don't Understand by Will Smith... so I tapped that and I got a whole bunch of other crap. I tapped Parents Just Don't Understand... and one of the songs it gave me was a DragonForce song. *smashes face into desk*
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directx CSS needs at least DirectX 7 installed to run. Windows XP handles up to DirectX 9c while Vista can handle DirectX 10. Have you updated your DirectX build?
  3. ZM Esc: Island Escape DR: Percolate Oreo CS: cs_thunder DE: de_vertigo Old school CS maps for the win.
  4. I haven't played TF2 in months. Maybe I'll install it and play again.
  5. It's a shame there can't be any compromise between the two. Competition between corporations is healthy... most of the time(see EA and Take-Two, bastards). Competition between people who own different consoles is not. I bought Bioshock on Sunday by the way. Great atmosphere and locales but I'm mystified as to how this game got such high ratings, it's one of the most annoying shooters I've played.
  6. I have an Xbox 360 so naturally that's what I would recommend, but I just can't do that. Perhaps I had a faulty system, but regardless it weighs heavily on my opinion of the console. I haven't had any experience with the PS3 so I can't really recommend either one without playing one of the two. My Xbox 360 for a period of 7 or 8 months has had quite a few mid-game disc read errors and a few freezes, which culminated in a GPU failure causing the red ring of death with three lights. Apparently this thing is so rampant that the warranty only on that particular issue has been extended to 3 years. I've had the console back for less than a week and so far besides one incident where I started up the console and the colors were retardedly bright and were bleeding across the edges on the dashboard GUI(and a simple restart fixed it), I haven't had any trouble with it yet. I just can't recommend it, I've had my PS2 for several years and the only thing I ever did to the console in terms of repair is a laser replacement(and that really was only because the console stopped playing burnt games, official PS2 games were fine and if I had just official PS2 games I would never have had to replace it). The original Xbox I did have to send off for repairs, but I don't remember ever having disc read issues with it in the middle of a game. The 360 is the shoddiest console I've ever owned, by a large margin. Again, could be due to bad luck. I will say that the 360 controller is by far the best controller ever built. Ever. I'm almost ashamed the PS3 is still using the same controller design as the PS1, it's uncomfortable and the D-pad is absolute junk.
  7. Speaking of Korn and Seo Taiji, if you like older Korn and you don't mind another language, you might like some of Seo Taiji's solo work as some of it is very similar. Check these out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e884QeiLsbs
  8. When I was growing up I remember taping The 3 Ninjas because I loved the movie. Then The 3 Ninjas Kick Back came out and I bought the VHS tape. In that movie there was a song that played while the kids were getting a limo ride through Japan, and ironically it had a lot of Korean music in it. It was great stuff, just a little strange that it had Korean music and not Japanese music to go along with the scenery. I remember rewinding the tape over and over again to listen to the song( ). Three years ago or so I heard a song called Ultramania by Seo Taiji, it was on an arcade game called Pump It Up, a Dance Dance Revolution competitor out of Korea. I loved Ultramania and wanted to find more songs by the artist. Out of what little I could find, I found that song again from the movie and I was fucking amazed that I accidentally found it and now I knew the name of the song. Luckily someone saw a forum post I made from British Columbia and contacted me online. She offered to send me Seo Taiji's entire discography, because she knew how hard it was to get a hold of foreign music like that, especially old foreign music. So she mailed me some CDs with his stuff on it. Great stuff. This song sky rocketed Seo Taiji's career and it was this kind of music that jump started a lot of Korean hip hop groups. I still listen to this song from time to time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFt4aGZRYEs
  9. Pizza!!!

Pepperoni n' cheese with that pepper... seed... shit or whatever you call it sprinkled on. Nothing special.
  10. I don't want to name specific titles... I'd be naming too many. I like action games, I like games with RPG elements in them(whether the actual game is an RPG or not, like equipment and stats and stuff like that), and I'm a sucker for music games. As far as music games go I like Guitar Hero, Rock Band and DrumMania.
  11. Soul Calibur IV Too Human Left 4 Dead Fable II World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning I'm assuming the last two are coming out this year.
  12. I had an Atari 7800 when I was 2. I don't remember which game was first... I have fond memories of Ms. Pac-Man, Centipede, and some Sesame Street alphabet game. Maybe it was a 2600 Jr.
  13. MMOFPSRPG?

I'd love to but my computer won't run it. If it's still popular in a few years after I get out of college, get a full time job and get settled with a monstrous self-built PC, then I'll give it a go for sure. I can't afford PC upgrades for awhile. Anyway, if I ever make it big as a game programmer I'd love to work on an MMOFPG of some sort in a futuristic setting.
  14. MMOFPSRPG?

The closest thing to that that I can remember is something called Huxley. It's been out of the public eye for awhile so I'm not sure what's going on with it.
  15. While I'd love a futuristic MMO that's actually good(seeing as how there's none, and I'm talking good like cream of the crop), there's a part of me inside that wants to see World of Rock N' Roll Racing.
  16. It's still a good buy, I just wish there were more to it. It seems like they added a lot of subtle things in place of things that were fundamental. First off, and this is a weird one because I generally don't care about stories in games, but a good chunk of the game felt completely pointless. It's like watching one of those movies like Napoleon Dynamite where the beginning and ending have some plot but the middle, the big middle, feels like it isn't going anywhere. Second, the gunplay has been revamped and it is a lot better, superb even. Problem? There aren't enough large shootouts in the game. The game doesn't even have a theater mode where you can go back and do any mission all over again. Saint's Row did it, why doesn't GTA4 do it? The law enforcement system is interesting, but not as good as it could have been. Again, most of the missions don't give you much of a vehicular challenge against the cops when they're there. They're slow and give up easy, but they are a lot more annoying in the way that they block you at slow speeds. I don't remember seeing one spike strip through my playthrough from start to finish, I don't even know if they're in the game. No army, but the choppers are just annoying. On a high wanted level you can destroy 50 of them and they'd still keep coming, giving you less than 2 minutes of breather between each one. You can form relationships with key characters in the game, which eventually give you perks like discounts and that kind of junk, but none of these perks are really needed... at all. And they keep pestering you on the phone! Driving is something you get used to, and it's not bad at all. My only complaint is that I've more than once hit a sidewalk dead on with a motorcycle and my guy flies 30 feet and smashes into the ground. That gets old the first time it happens. Cars occasionally suffer from this as well, not like the motorcycle thing but they'll sometimes act like the end of a sidewalk is a wall and one of your front wheels end up sliding on it instead of rolling over it. Most cars brake like they have buttered tires. Again, there's a lot worse you can buy, but as long as you don't go into it thinking it's the best game in the world or go into it believing the game is as good as websites like Gamespot say it is, then you shouldn't be disappointed.
  17. Your allergies

No allergies that I'm aware of. The sun usually does a good job of making me sneeze when I first go outside after being indoors for a period of time however.
  18. Neat. I'll probably install it just to see what it's like, that is of course if it's easy to set it up so that I can dual boot between XP and Vista. If not, then forget it. :001_tongue:
  19. Well yeah, that and the fact that Diablo would have absolutely no place in that image if Diablo 3 wasn't going to be announced, seeing as how that's Arthas representing Wrath of the Lich King and that's Kerrigan representing StarCraft 2. If they were going to put Diablo in that image and had no plans to announce Diablo 3 for awhile then they may as well put The Lost Vikings and the guys from Rock N Roll Racing on that image as well. :tongue_smilie:
  20. I'm learning how to play Use The Man by Megadeth on guitar. Very under-appreciated song out of their entire catalog. I can't do the barre chords for the acoustic part(or so the tab says), I'm a serious beginner and I don't practice often. I can however do the unbarred electric guitar chords that make the main riff of the song, which is basically the same sound as the acoustic chords so I'm not bothering with the barre chords yet. It's fun playing along to a drum track. I can make my own drum track to any song out there, from classic rock to stuff by Dream Theater, both having the drum track itself play along with the actual song to kind of make the drums stand out over the rest of the instruments or just the drum track itself, though it's time consuming to do. I did up to 1:17 of Use The Man since that's all I can play so far and can't find a tab that covers that little section before it goes back to the acoustic guitar part. I'll probably end up noodling on the guitar until I find the right notes.
  21. To put my two cents in, I think Diablo 2 is the closest possible game in existence to being an MMORPG without it being branded an MMORPG, and I attribute that to Guild Wars and the fact that it's labeled an MMORPG. If Guild Wars can be called an MMORPG, then I don't think it's completely out of the question to call(or at least consider) Diablo 2 an MMORPG either by today's definition. Then again today's definition also says that Hellgate: London is an Action RPG, go figure.
  22. Eh, you said made by 3D Realms. id Software made Wolfenstein 3D, though it was published by 3D Realms. JAM Productions however are a bunch of nobodies so I associated Blake with 3D Realms instead of JAM. I didn't read the entire thread, I saw 3D Realms and nazis and thought of Blake first.
  23. Blake Stone? I remember that game, haha. EDIT: I dunno if it had nazis in it... it's been too long.
  24. I've had bad experiences with ATI cards... though really I haven't used anything else so it could be how all cards are. I've had a 9600XT which after awhile gave me serious visual glitches in World of Warcraft. It's like some polygons on terrain extend forever and you see these blocks across the screen while others were like triangles and they stayed stuck to the weapon on my back or something... it was retarded. Then I got my current card, an X1300, and while it's doing okay now I did start noticing some small abnormalities in World of Warcraft in certain areas.
  25. To give the story mode credit, it is pretty good. Certainly much better than what was in Melee. It gave me that big goofy nostalgic grin when I watched some of the cut scenes.
