  1. The current radio plugin we use seems to be pretty annoying. It takes ages for suggestions to go through and it feels like 80% of the music is pure garbo. If there was some way to have a specific SG playlist where songs are prescreened after being submitted to avoid spam/racism, I feel that would be a lot better. Would we run into issues with royalties or would this even be possible?
  2. It's no secret that admins and staff put in a lot of effort into the community every day just for sake of making the community a better place, but I often feel that they go unaknowledged. I figure you guys wouldn't mind taking the chance to recognize fellow players who go above and beyond to help SG be the best community. Yes we have presidential awards, but they come about once in a blue moon and usually only recognize higher ups who have really put their nose to the grindstone. Other staffers, feel free to participate. I'm gonna start off with @Dienstag. I used to be really hard on you for being too strict and annoying, but I really didn't know you all that well. Especially after returning from your brief break, I appreciate your patience with players and how you often help out with advice and other topics other than just punishing rulebreakers.
  3. It was bad a few months ago, but I already suggested this and we raised it by a few, it definitely changed up the variety and it's much better now. I've got over 20 daysbon the server and all the maps get boring eventually, just suggest new maps being added and focus on the game itself
  4. Pika the new plugin doesn't allow that. @delirium there's not much differentiating it from sub apart from the higher credit rate, I feel that most of us just do it to support and rep the server at this point but I just thought it was cool and a good incentive for these to be restricted to Sub/VIP. I feel what separates us most from other communities is our players, but it's whatever honestly
  5. Rip VIP incentives, oh well do what you please
  6. I'll try to be there
  7. It's about making a point about not abusing the system. Banning people for breaking rules keeps then from breaking rules. I think it would only be abused once or twice, the victim would only get a 30 minute, and everyone else would get the message. Not to mention the huge concenus it would take to have the vote to pass in the first place. I get the feeling this could be very effective and easy to discourage abuse. But we'll see what Delirium has in mind anyways if it comes up.
  8. It would be whoever called it that gets punished. If a situation were to happen, such as someone votebanning abomination for 30 minutes, that person would get a fat 3-7 day ban, and nobody would abuse it again.
  9. @Cept For Her, didn't mean to imply that any of the other routes are useless. I appreciate them and all the time you put into them. I was just looking for something that could keep the server from being shitted up by 1 person until an admin is able to come on. These stretches can last up to 3 hours and one person going ham can spoil it for everyone. This thread is technically already answered so I'm gonna stop responding for now.
  10. @euro, my point exactly, players have to tough it out until an admin shows up or justice is dealt on the forums. What I was looking for was something that could keep trolls from affecting the server in the time admins aren't on, which can often be 2-3 hours even with a !calladmin. If there's nothing that would achieve this without bringing more bad than good, that's all I was looking for.
  11. @All Ts I understand what you're saying and you certainly make a good point, as I have less experience with this. This being said, I'm curious to see what Delirium has in the works. My purpose in this wasn't nescessarily to reduce the need for oversight, but to provide a system that players can use for the already present lack of oversight. I tried to come up with ways to make it very difficult to abuse but in the end you're probably right. Is there anything that would have a similar result by means of a different system, or are players just forced to tough it out until an admin shows up?
  12. The goal is to make it restricted enough to be effective, I'd happily take a 30 minute ban to see some RDMer slapped with a perm.
  13. @sean what do you guys think of posting events on the Home page, I usually miss them just because I mistake them for suggestions, maybe it's my own damn fault
  14. I understand at face value, that a votekick or voteban system seems detrimental to the server and it's population, hence why it is disabled by default, however, I feel that under strict scrutiny, it can do a lot of good. I don't have the specific numbers for it (I'm not sure anyone does for that matter), but from my experience, an admin is only present on the server for about 60% of the time that it is active. The rest of the time is free range (with the exception of tedious player reports, which only server justice to players AFTER the fact.). I feel that a !votekick/!voteban system would be very useful to keep griefers, micspammers, and general rule breakers from ruining everyone else's fun AS THE GAME IS GOING ON. This would prevent players from having to deal with trolls and alike without having to go through the process of a complaint, or even accompanied by a complaint. However, I understand, it would need to be under heavy restriction. For starters, a !voteban would only last 30 minutes. This would keep perpetrators off the server for long enough to think they are banned, or to allow an admin to deal with the situation appropriately. Secondly, kicks/bans would only be able to be voted on every 20 or so minutes. This would keep players from voting back and forth against each other as well as ensure that the player has been consistently breaking the rules for an extended period. The bans should also require at least 10 people on the server (to keep two or three players on the server from kicking someone they don't like during low pop hours) and should require a 90% concensus (to ensure there is an agreement that the player is disruptive). Lastly, this is something that would need to be made clear: the !votekick/!voteban system is not to be used jokingly as the !calladmin system sometimes can be. Any abuse CAN AND WILL BE SEVERELY PUNISHED.
  15. Gonna have to agree with Nate on this one, it's simply not convenient or competitive enough compared to other servers. However, I heard you guys recently added multiCFG so why not have a score contest and make it the featured server. @Leon Mordecai you're ok events team, right?
  16. The plugins for this tend to have too many issues and games are very drawn out. We haven't even finished our TTT plugin yet. Apparently valve, however, is planning on adding some form of battle Royale, so maybe we should look into that when it comes out.
  17. I personally don't use ffa because my ping is better on every other ffa server and they all have free access to !knife !ws and more. On a plus side at least we don't have audio ads
  18. @Gator @LampShade Alright, I'm gonna agree with you on this simply because I have never run a server and I can't play out hypotheticals. However, other servers have very lax rules for mic usage and allow every user access to !knife and !ws. While I wouldn't advocate for changing our mic policy (not that it would be changed anyways, what do you guys think of giving non-subs access to !knife and certain models while restricting !ws and other models to sub and vip in order to compete with other servers while keeping incentive for people to sub?
  19. Thanks @ReyZi_Chan! We've added you to the official weeb ban list. Come back in a week to check up on your status.
  20. I suppose that makes sense. From my perspective servers such as bhop, my, and soon surf act as an agent for current members of the server, who joined from our more popular servers (TTT, PB, ZE, etc.) go to hang out. I'm fairly confident in why this is the case, if you'd like to know. Anyways, if you guys don't have a problem with that, it's fine, but if you guys want to bring more population into these servers, there's some changes that need made.
  21. What do you guys think of combining this with bhop eventually. I've noticed that we don't have a lot of things that draw players to other surf/bhop servers so combining them might help player retention and save money on hosting.
  22. BULLYHUNTERS

As you can see, she uses the very tricky backstab method to humiliate this subhuman bully, which is why I call for the return to traditional knife damage values in ttt to make our bullhunter program fully efficient.
  23. @Mad Dogg @Gator What do you guys think of implemeting this. To be clear I think we've come to a consensus on !store options for karma milestones.
  24. TTT, it works in spec but it used to work in game. It should be added as a model or command in game
  25. I personally want the no hands bug
