  1. I didn't mean the multigame maps, I meant the soccer-only maps that he was referring to that kill out the server. Even if they are hardly played, it's not worth having maps on the server that almost guarantee a server clear-out IF they manage to be played.
  2. I'm fine with giving it a shot if we have the resources, I'm just saying that SG has not really committed to a soccer server in the past. What happened to the SSL(Or whatever they call it now) public servers that basically did this exact thing? First point makes sense, the second part bothers me. A lot of those people (Assuming we have some of the same friends) "mess around" by absolutely stomping on people who are new to the game and stacking a team so they win in the first minute every round. If we get a soccer server, and you fill it with your friends and then a player from SG who wants to try it out joins, they will have a terrible experience having so many serious soccer players in the server. Pls, I played soccer way before you, and have an infamous trick shot that I invented. I also held a record of most goals by a defender in one game. Com@meboi.
  3. Would be more inclined to say that we just remove said maps that kill a server's population. We had a soccer server previously and it did not really work out.

    LOL
  5. Just updating this thread with some news you guys can't see: This thread along with suggestions I have been given by players over Steam or PM's has inspired me to finally make a thread in the AO section concerning changes such as what you guys are discussing here. We will be going over them and giving our own thoughts and opinions first since we will be the ones doing all the work server-side and want to clear up what's possible or not possible before we start asking you guys to weigh in. This is by no means a "changes coming very soon" post, but letting you know that they are seriously being discussed by higher ups. One of the changes I plan on going over is announcing things such as this to the public more often. I have always felt left in the dark for the most part when it comes to what the higher ups are talking about or planning. Opening up communication of what's being worked on or discussed will hopefully be a step in the right direction for creating a more friendly and helpful environment in SG where regular players and Admins themselves don't feel like they are excluded from what higher ups are talking about.

I appreciate the support you are showing.
  7. Shots fired. What am I going to do with one hand? Don't answer. I already know. *wink*
  8. Xeno BD

Mad as fuck that people like me, poopstain.
  9. Xeno BD

I do, just didn't know why he made this thread. All I told him was I would have to ask BD's to wipe the pug server cause I can't do it myself. Clearly this means I should just be BD to accomplish my life goals. LOL.
  10. Removed boa from list by request. Seriously guys hurry up and make your teams. You guys are holding up the tournament. There was a GIANT bitch fit when we decided to randomize teams ourselves last tournament, now you get to pick your teams, and it's still taking forever.

  12. As I told Mudkip, you don't fit requirements.
  13. The server sub-forums do not get much attention as it is, to be honest. I think reforming the Forums to be divided up by divisions if we choose to have them, would be ideal. Then have sub-forums in them for server suggestions, and other sub-forums for each division. So we would have the division forums be sort of large and a main point of the forums, then off-topic, arts and crafts how we have them, etc. The way the server sub-forums are currently is not giving them enough attention, so division forums with the vital sub-forums regarding servers and so on would be more ideal.
  14. I worded my part about CE poorly, I was more agreeing rather than arguing, then adding those other points in there as a bit of an off-topic subject.
  15. The servers which are struggling or not as popular would pretty much have to take a backseat if we were to incorporate something like making it an SA's responsibility to start up a server (Which really, most SA's should be willing to do in the first place...) and have it be part of the daily thing they do. Then as our other servers become populated and start bringing in fresh regulars, they may be interested in the other servers and they will be the ones to populate them. Not really, considering Caution is controlling so many of the servers as it is, and Spartan mainly handles Garrys Mod. If an AO remains in control of a server and is doing a good job, regardless of how long they in charge of it I'm not sure why we would not still bring up the possibility of promoting someone to help them run it. If I'm in control of a server, and know everything about it and how to take care of it, it doesn't mean I have all the time in the world to do it. If there was a fitting person to help me run it I see no reason why not to try and promote them to help me take care of it. Honestly I am not the biggest fan of "one AO per server", and would like to see more AO's, with AO's being required to have more presence and activity in the community. Also with more AO's we can noticeably see which AO's are pulling their weight and which are not. CE's role to me is fine how it is, though not many utilize it as much as they could. The problem with some CE's is not many realize they are higher ups in terms of rank and how they should act. You're only given mod powers, yes, but the title itself is Community Enforcer, which means you should be actively engaged in the community and know whats going on. Very often I hear most drama news through CE's or people creating problems, which is how I would like CE's to behave. I personally like to see CE's telling SA's how to behave or acting as role models to the SA's rather than "Just an SA with mod powers". You don't have authority to directly punish a SA, but it's within your rank to tell a SA to cut it out if they are acting out of line, and expect them to listen to you. I also expect CE's to report SA's that are acting out of line to AO's more so than other another SA would. It only has potential if people are dedicated to it, which dedication is something that appears to be lacking. Or if it's there, those with it are quiet and go unnoticed.
  16. If I recall, Zriot was using a shitton of events to fill it, the same issue I was talking about. It fills with our own members that just want to help populate, gets filled with majority of our members, then the ones who only wanted to populate leave (Almost everyone) and it dies out. Yeah I didn't have NS2 on my server list when I was comparing TTT to the other servers. But, NS2 incorporates exactly what I was talking about, as you said you have a few people who start it then it fills with new players who become regulars. If every division had an equal form of applying/gaining Admin, I would say it's fair to let Admin members of one "division" have access to another "division's" servers, assuming they show some kind of activity in them, simply because we don't need inactive Admins. I would like to see this discussed more, there's potential in this idea, but we need more opinions weighing in. Also would like talking about reforming the responsibilities of SA's to include jump starting servers that are empty. If all of them are on the same page then they every server would have 4-5 SA's join around after-school time and it would probably increase daily server population. Would appreciate if those of you in this thread or who view this thread would spread the link to it around to people so they can weigh in. We need more opinions, ideas, and thoughts if we're going to fully consider the potential of splitting up SG in divisions. Also this has became a subject about server population and how to refill them so other members of the community may have some good ideas. (Avoid talking about events please...as stated, we do not need OUR members filling the servers, we need NEW members populating majority of a server's capacity)
  17. Low population has nothing to do with who is running it and who is there to make changes. If you look at those other big communities you'll notice something that SG just doesn't appear to have: Their members help populate the servers nearly every day. eGO servers I see the same handful of people that start playing every day to get it started, then it just fills on its own. They do this without events as far as I'm aware, and the members voluntarily do it. We do not have that here, our members don't sit and try to populate the servers, aside from one. TTT is almost always populated by those select few people that get on every day TO populate it and sit in the server inviting friends or waiting for people to join, once it started, it pretty much stays populated throughout the day. (12/24 people right now, highest of all our servers) If we were to get our members to do the same for other servers, it would re-build a fanbase and instead of filling up our servers with our OWN members (via events) they would fill up with NEW members that become regulars due to a select few people starting it up everyday. That is how you create popularity and a player base. You frequently populate a server every single day. You have to be able to do that without events since moderators of the group (AO's+) are not always on every day to play.
  18. Updated. Also Random is dropping out of the tournament and would like a replacement as well, for anyone interested. Also I guess it should be noted, you do not need to be Captain/Co-captain of a team if you are one of the 10 highlighted, even though these first few teams are like that. Those of you who do not have a team can start creating your own and simply ask those members who are part of 10 highlighted to join your team, just as a suggestion. Captains and Co-captains are decided on by the team, not by the highlighted players.
  19. Updated thread with teams formed so far that I am aware of. If you do not have a full team yet, you can still let us know and we will put up the members you have so far so you can advertise your available slots. Preferably have a Captain/Co-Captain picked out at the very least before informing us of your team. Mudkip is currently still looking for someone to replace his spot, please post if you're interested in joining the 5v5, and meet requirements set at the time of the sign-up thread. Edit: Replaced Mudkip with Scuba.
  20. I encourage all of you to actively go ask players if they are on a team already and if they can join. Simply leaving your name here may not be enough. I have not gotten any Pm's about teams, so I am assuming no one has a set team filled yet.
  21. I was not aware. If this is true, anyone eligible to join the tournament is able to replace him. If anyone finds someone they would like to join, post here so I can swap them out for AznRule. (Assuming they meet the requirements of the original sign up) Should be noted if the person you invite is known to be ridiculously good, they may end up being added to the restricted list.
  22. Update! The following players are restricted: 1. Caution 2. XeNo 3. Noob 4. xoul 5. Kubo 6. Panda 7. Jaffa 8. BananaJoe 9. BoM 10. Skitz Only two of any of these members may be on one team. YOU CREATE YOUR OWN TEAM. Feel free to start forming. Please PM me with who your team is composed of, who the captain and co-captains are, and I will adjust the original post with this information. Caution will be busy for the next few weeks so preferably PM both of us, but at least make sure I get the post updated. If you informed us and your team is not updated on the list, please remind us to do so! Good luck! Have fun!
  23. Every vote matters, but some matter more than others.
  24. Spartan has requested I make this thread to ask the community if they feel we need a Moonbase Alpha server. Here are the arguments for a Moonbase Alpha server: Highly realistic astronaut experience on the moon. Actually teaches facts about life on the moon. In-game TTS. Raceable robots and other vehicles. Power ranger-esque color coordination for every player in the server. Hv6RbEOlqRo Here are the arguments against a Moonbase Alpha server: Fear of heights. ????????? So far statistics are in favor of Moonbase Alpha server.
  25. This would be cool.
