  1. We thought about it lol, I brought it up. I guess it's expensive to buy. Like $800 or something
  2. Hello everyone... When Garfield was the owner of SG, he sold it off to an outside party: a guy named Amit. Amit tried to maintain activity at SG, but could not. He ended up selling it to another guy named Ryan. Ryan has no activity here at SG, and does not intend to have any. When Spartan was the president, there was a working relationship between him and Ryan. While Ryan may have owned the domain name, he gave Spartan and the Board the access they needed to do their tasks when it came to management, security, upgrades, etc etc. This access was cut from us about a few months ago. The only form of communication I have (or Spartan had) with Ryan was email. With that being said, the email conversations I have with him are incredibly frustrating. He either does not respond to my emails at all, or he will respond, but does not answer what I am asking him. We no longer have a relationship with the domain owner that enables us to do our job as members of the Board. With that being said, I sent Ryan an email at the beginning of this week (after months of trying to regain access), essentially telling him to either sell the domain to us or we will be forced to move our community elsewhere. Ryan wants an astronomical amount for the site. After trying to get him to negotiate with us, he has stopped responding to me altogether. So, this leads us into being forced to move our community somewhere else. As much as I would love to keep steam-gamers.net, we are no longer able to stay here. We have no way to protect this site if anything were to happen; we are relying entirely on an outside party who isn't even active here. I am not trying to make Ryan out to seem like a bad guy...I'm sure he has a busy life and all that jazz, but this third-party-owner scenario we have does not work anymore. You are probably asking yourself "What does this mean for me?" In all reality, the only thing we are changing is the domain name, with a slight change to our publicly displayed name. Due to potential legality issues, we have to change our name slightly, in case Ryan were to come after us. The logo will stay the same; floffypus owns that and all rights associated with it. Our new name will be SteamGaymers. Okay, not really. Seriously though, the new site will be Steam-gamers.net. Everything else will remain the same. The only other slight change will be the connection info for teamspeak (the connection info is 192.223.24.27); the IP is the same...but just in case you are using ts.steam-gamers.net to connect. All of the server IP's will remain the same. The forum layout will remain the same. All of your posts, thanks, avatars, etc, will be the same (save for posts that are made potentially in between the last backup and when we bring the new site up). We are going to be working on this over the next day or two. While this is happening, the servers won't be down. There will be some restarts happening to update all of the info in the servers to reflect the new domain...but that is it. Please pass this word around. We are going to be sending announcements in all the steam groups, so everyone is on the same page. If the forums go down, please try using the new domain to see if the new forums are up. However, we will still be sending a message on the steam group to make sure people get the word. If you are not apart of the group, please join it. I understand this is a big change, but in all reality, mostly everything will remain the same. We just need to move in order to provide the best support we can to you guys. If you have any questions, feel free to ask us here, in a PM, teamspeak, or steam. We are trying to make this transition as smooth as possible, and we appreciate all of your constant support in pushing the community forward. Once again: New Domain: www.steam-gamers.net TeamSpeak IP address: 192.223.24.27 Steam Group: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/Steamgamers
  3. A whole Chocolate Ghost Pepper (no, it's not chocolate covered...it's a type of pepper). Worst pain I have ever been in in my entire life. My taste buds were shot for about a week. Could not taste anything.
  4. Im out

So...you're stepping down? Giving us a heads up before you make a thread is usually appreciated.
  5. I don't know entirely yet. DC, New York, Pennsylvania, Boston, Virginia...all a few places I want to visit. Might head further south to georgia and / or Florida area. I don't know yet. I definitely want to go see niagra falls though & go to a Yankee game
  6. Sup everyone I plan on taking a vacation at the end of the year, sometime between December - February for about 6-8 weeks. I'm gonna be (hopefully) be going to Hawaii, Japan, Guam, Australia, a few other countries around that area, and I'm going to be spending a decent amount of time in Europe. I'm going to be flying to London, Germany Italy, Spain, and maybe Greece...as far as Europe goes. However I want to take a train around and visit a decent amount of countries while I'm in Europe, possibly even go to Ireland as well. Looking for some tips from you guys that live in these areas. Money isn't a problem, so I'm looking to ride around and do some cool shit, and party pretty heavily. Tips would be appreciated, stuff to do, etc. If you live somewhere I'm going and want to get fucked up and party, let me know as well lol. Also, same goes for people on the East Coast USA. I'm gonna be out there for a little bit as well, and want some fun shit to do. I've got like two months of vacation time to burn and need to do it big. Possibly Canada. thanks

  12. We are pleased to announce some new and old promotions to kickstart summer at SteamGamers. Please welcome SpikedRocker to the Board of Directors! Spiked, as the older members may recall, did an amazing job as a BD in 2008-2009, and we are looking forward to seeing him lead the community once again. He has brought many ideas to the community, including the recent forum changes with the homepage and steam plugins, and there's more where that came from. His decision making, attitude, and willingness to help has been appreciated and very helpful to us, and I can tell that he will be a great asset to the community on the Board once again. Next, we will be introducing a new (old) group known as Legends. This is a gathering of long-time community admins and former higher up staff who have earned special recognition for their contributions to SteamGamers, along with the full respect of this community. This is a highly respected rank that not just anyone can earn, and these promotions are not decided lightly. It is not just automatically given after being a higher up. Congratulations to the following members for being promoted into the Legends group! Haggard, Atarian, mNote, Henda, broncoty, Red Tampon, jeN, Kennith, LitKey, tinkerbell, Zero001, James, andre1028, Jaffa, raven maniac, Itch, Blank, Modgers1, High, Lux, Huwajux, Ambulancia, PotshotPolka, Tcp-Kill, LVG, Astrum, Svendy, Psyche, Daze, bor3d, XeNo, Determined2Win, Mystique, Irish, Bob Loblaw, Ms. Blargh, TheVirus, SexualHarassmentPanda, and Crazy Swede. Additional promotions to Legends will still be discussed and announced in time. With the return of this rank, we will also be removing the "official rank" of Retired Staff, and everyone who served as a higher up at one point has been given the Outstanding Member award. There will also be a slight change in the lower ranks of SteamGamers. The Reg Tiers system is being discontinued as of today. SG.Reg status will still be earned by being registered on our forums for 2 months and reaching 100+ posts. However, members' user titles will now automatically change as their postcount increases. Congratulations to everyone who was promoted, and we hope you find these changes fitting for the community.
  13. I don't have an issue upping the slot count but I'd definitely let @Paul decide that.
  14. Hello everyone, You may have noticed that we increased our donation goal to 200. I recently upgraded our dedi so we can better handle the population we've been having, and allowing us further room to expand. Thanks for the donations everyone; you all keep the community alive.
  15. Anyone else going???
  16. I do as well. I don't get that into the types and the ohm count and all that crazy shit. I just get a basic setup, do my own builds / cotton, etc. It keeps me from smoking cigs and that's all I really care about. SoCal has some of the best flavors I've experienced so far though. Look up 'Space Rocks' and 'Cottontail Cream' by Lost Art, and 'WTF' by 'OMG'. Both are L.A. based juices. WTF is extremely good.
  17. only thing i smoke are fools like you on the b ball court
  18. Oh man I can't wait to start playing pb again.
  19. Did I say Beth? I meant to say anyone but beth.
  20. Good evening everyone, I'm glad to announce that we have a few people taking a step up in the community. Stepping up to CA, we have Zorg, Liam Brown, and Beth. All have shown an interest in the community and have stood out amongst the other SA's. From CA to AO, we have Nuclear Onion. It was definitely a challenge deciding who we wanted to step up to AO, but in the end we felt that Nuclear Onion was the best fit for the job. Please welcome me in congratulating all these people. Side note, I also have a bit of unfortunate news. Xeno has decided that it is best for him to step down due to being busy with RL. I am saddened to see him step down, as he has done an immense amount of work for this community. At one point, Xeno was the sole active BD here @ SG, and the work he put into this place was absolutely essential to the success that we are currently having today. Everyone, please join me in giving Xeno a pat on the back and a 'thank you' for the amount of dedication he has put forward here.
  21. Hello everyone, I am glad to announce that we will be promoting an old time higher up (and a long time friend) to the position of Technical Administrator. Please welcome Jager back to the community, and don't be afraid to tell him to flip his pillow to the cold side. He has extensive knowledge and we are glad to have him back on the team.
  22. Hello everyone, As you guys all know, we are trying to kick off subscriber give-aways on a monthly basis. With that being said, I really don't want to do random monthly drawings. I want to get creative with it and have something different every once in awhile. I'd like to get some feedback from all of you on prizes you'd like to see, and on how you'd like to have some of the give-aways set up, other than the regular random drawing. All input is appreciated! Thanks everyone.
