  1. What graphic card?

GTS 250 is the best bang for buck at ~110 range. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-310-5970,2491.html Card posted above this post is REALLY good.
  2. Time to update :D

  3. So the lesson of the day is to never take REGIONALS advise. His ONLY answer is a biased HD 5000 series. That is the only word that can come out of his mouth.
  4. DDR2 vs DDR3

Haha. My mistake. I meant to have DDR3 and DDR2 switched around. So DDR3 is not backwards compatible with DDR2.
  5. I can provide support through AIM. leslielian60634
  6. DDR2 vs DDR3

Don't forget that DDR2 is not backwards compatible with DDR3.
  7. 12GB of RAM is so useless for gaming. They threw in extra crap to jack up the price. Windows 7 Home Premium? Wow.
  8. I think this recording system is new and it only started recording after it got implemented.
  9. Death is near because of stupidity and the lack of humor represented in these images.
  10. What did he eat anyways?
  11. Facebook Fails

HAHA at last one. These are pretty funny. LOL!
  12. This! I thought it might have been your physical graphics card and not the drivers. See if you can play games at lower settings. If it still BSODs, then it's not the graphics card. Sometimes your hardware might have came loose. One time my computer wouldn't start and when it did, it BSODed on me. I took apart EVERYTHING (except heatsink) and replaced it, basically rebuilding a computer from scratch, and it worked after that. Have you checked your temperatures while running these graphics intensive programs? Maybe something is overheating and the computer is BSODing to save you.
  13. Im a newbii!

Change graphics card and power supply. Power supply because I'm not sure if that company is reputable. Shadowex3 can fill you in on that one. And if I am wrong, he can correct me. Graphics card for the same reason. I would get a XFX, BFG, EVGA, or MSI.
  14. I had 95/98. Not sure which one, since I was only 6 back then. Now I'm running 7 Ultimate x64.
  15. I was going to advise it too, but then his budget is around 100 dollars, so the 5750, 5770, and 9800 GTX+ are out of his range. Only reason I am comparing the 9800 GTX+ and the 5750 is because it was brought up.
  16. Speed of a card is not based solely on the bus width. Here is a comparison for you. 9800 GTX+: 65/55nm fab Radeon HD 5750: 40nm fab 9800 GTX+: 128 Stream Processors Radeon HD 5750: 720 Stream Processors 9800 GTX+: 675MHz Core Clock Radeon HD 5750: 700MHz Core Clock 9800 GTX+: 256bit Radeon HD 5750: 128bit 9800 GTX+: GDDR3 Radeon HD 5750: GDDR5 9800 GTX+: 512MB of VRAM Radeon HD 5750: 1GB of VRAM 9800 GTX+: 2200MHz Memory Clock Radeon HD 5750: 1150MHz Memory Clock 9800 GTX+: 70.4GB/s Memory Bandwidth Radeon HD 5750: 73.6GB/s Memory Bandwidth Hey look! A card with a smaller bus width and a slower memory clock still has a higher bandwidth. WOW! The Radeon HD 5750 has a 40nm fab, which means lower heat production and lower energy consumption compared to the 65/55nm fab of the 9800GTX+. The HD5750 is in all ways better than the aging piece of crap 9800 GTX+. PS. And I'm not being biased because I'm a Nvidia fanboy.
  17. Firefox.
  18. Unless you are an extreme hard core gamer, I'd say a 1TB 7200RPM hard drive is more than enough. I am running a 7200RPM drive and my computer can boot up in under 20 seconds. With the Velocirapter 10000RPM hard drive, my computer can probably boot in 10 seconds. From what I know, hard drive is the biggest bottleneck in existance. You can have the best processor, RAM, video card, and motherboard, but if you have a slow hard drive, you will be slowed down.
  19. X-mas shopping

Whenever you ask for help on computer hardware, it's not good exercise to tell us your current specs. It's a requirement. How the heck are we going to help you decide what is compatible with your current system? We can't just get the godliest parts in the world and slap it into your computer. I hate people who ask for help but do not provide any information. So what if you built your computer 1 year ago? I can still build a socket 478 computer right now. Just because you built it recently doesn't mean that your parts recent.
  20. X-mas shopping

Screw the upgrade, build a new computer. And if you want to save money, buying offline is not an option.
  21. HELP!

I thought it was this way, but both arguments seem correct to me, in a sense. WHICH ONE IS CORRECT?!?!
  22. I think that's the graphics card (chipset?) that is in my machine with a Intel Celeron. If it is, then no, it is IMPOSSIBLE to run CS:S with it. You can abrely run CS1.6 with it.
  23. HELP!

Source engine is really CPU dependent. His CPU really boosts up his frame rates, even though you two have the same GPU.
  24. How'd you get the videos to be widescreen on the forum?
  25. Vista SP2 DEATH!

I know that the any part that works for ATX will work for BTX, but everything is backwards and barely anyone uses. So now you have to get a special case if you want to change the case. You might also have to get a different heatsink. Plus, the BTX form factor is not targeted at gamers and enthusiasts. Most enthusiast components are made in the ATX form factor.
