  1. Vista SP2 DEATH!

They make some of their parts and it's really bad. They use the BTW form factor, when almost everyone else uses ATX. My sister's Dell is a BTX and I'm scared to do anything with it.
  2. Haha. My bad for bringing that up. I didn't mean to have a rank contest. But I've built a computer before. But like any other people who knows something about computer would say, BUILD IT!
  3. You forgot about me. Although they are more experienced than me, I'm probably the 3rd most experienced!
  4. Well, I guess your demand for a on-time deliver has failed, even with the "almighty" PC World. You just lost. Next time, try rush delivery.
  5. Really funny

    Not funny.
  6. Vista SP2 DEATH!

Because XP is outdated? Some products have dropped support for XP. Microsoft is trying to push Vista and 7 now. It's the present (and future). XP is the past. Here are some documents about XP vs Vista in the energy consumption category. http://m.softchoice.com/files/pdf/about/sustain-enable/Info-Tech-XP_vs._Vista_Consider_the_Power_Savings.pdf http://www.msblog.org/2007/05/11/power-management-of-windows-vista-vs-windows-xp/ http://docs.google.com/gview?a=v&q=cache%3AlNZE4waoIKUJ%3Adownload.microsoft.com%2Fdocuments%2Fuk%2Fbusiness%2FPC%2520Pro%2520Labs%2520White%2520Paper%2520Mar%25202007.pdf+power+consumption+xp+vs+vista&hl=en&gl=us&sig=AFQjCNH6fnoa9KEQ4yBT4dfhwPeVCHIA6A&pli=1 http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?/topic/26618-windows-7-vs-vista-sp2-vs-xp-sp3-performance-benchmark-results/ Some of those documents are dated in 2007, the energy consumption is probably way lower now.
  7. Nice pictures. I liked the aquarium photoshoot. Put a 56K warning in the thread name.
  8. Ventrilo help.

I had no reason to go on vent without a mic. Pretty useless for me. Thanks a lot!
  9. Ventrilo help.

How do I message people? Or do you mean message them on the forum?
  10. Ventrilo help.

I just got a mic and I installed Ventrilo. I am able to join the SteamGamers Ventrilo server, but I am always stuck in Fail Spam Channel. How do I go to other channels?
  11. LOL! Wow, talk about retarded; how did reversing the fan not come to your mind the very first time, before asking for help? People these days. Man....
  12. Vista SP2 DEATH!

I lol'd at Dell's retarded support. LOL! A GPU doesn't affect the OS in anyway.
  13. When you burn stuff onto the disc, you don't format them. The burning process formats them for you, as Wrathek stated. If you format them using Windows' built-in formatter, all you are doing it making your disc a storage disc, like a flash drive, without the rewritable feature. Once a disc is formatted with Windows' built-in formatter, it can't be used to burn a disc (I think).
  14. No love for volleyball?!?!?!
  15. Graphics card and processor blow. If you are ever to get an AMD X4, get a Phenom II X4. Athlon II X4 is not even an option. And II've stated before to someone, never get a graphics card below the mid-range level or more than 3 generations old, if you are gaming (which I think you will be doing since you are part of the SG community). Nvidia's mid-range starts at that 600s; for example 8600 and up, 9600 and up, GTX 250 and up. Do not get any GeForce 7 series card or lower though.
  16. Oh, thanks guys.
  17. Are TF2 (and any other source game/mod) maps playable on CS:S? I thought that since they all use the Source engine, they are all compatible with each other. True or false? And if it is possible, how can I do it.
  18. It must be your internet. I never had any problems.
  19. Copy and paste from Wiki: "The emergence of the 64-bit architecture effectively increases the memory ceiling to 264 addresses, equivalent to approximately 17.2 billion gigabytes, 16.8 million terabytes, or 16 exabytes of RAM. To put this in perspective, in the days when 4 MB of main memory was commonplace, the maximum memory ceiling of 232 addresses was about 1,000 times larger than typical memory configurations. Today, when over 2 GB of main memory is common, the ceiling of 264 addresses is about ten trillion times larger, i.e., ten billion times more headroom than the 232 case."
  20. No operating system that is 32bit will recognize over ~3.5GB of RAM. The same thing happened like 3-5? years ago (not sure when, I didn't know anything about computers back then) with 16bit OS. 16bit OS could only recognize 16MB of RAM.
  21. I don't understand why people still shun Vista. After SP1, it was on par with XP. Now that is it SP2, it's better than XP (in most cases).
  22. Hope you haven't bought it yet. Get this card; same price, way better: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143149
  23. new cpu cooler

I've never even heard of that cooler or the computer. Sounds generic. But that cooler is definitely not going to be silent. 2 fans = not silent. I can be wrong; I'm not really good with coolers. I only go for the reputable ones, since noise is not an issue for me. Try this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118052
