Over the past year and a half, my ISP has not upgraded their infrastructure in any way. Being the only local company that offers remotely fast speeds, they have gained a lot of customers over the past year and a half. Why is this a bad thing? Let me show you. Here is a speedtest at what I would hope to be peak hours. I remember when I used to have this kind of download speed, all the way back in 2003... Here is a speedtest during idle hours. Notice the huge difference in download speed and ping. This isn't just some rush hour slowdown, this is a nearly complete halt of the infrastructure. Just thought I would share my experience from the local cable company. It's a shame, they used to be so fast back in the day...

This. But for single player games I would have to go for the PS3. Not a big fan of the 360's exclusives. Halo is as bland cookie cutter FPS you get and I like Army of Two a lot more over Gears of War. The PS3 has some good exclusives so far (MGS4, God of War). The PS3 is technologically superior in every way, even down to the disk format. Microsoft loves to make you pay for features. You even have to pay to use Netflix, even if you already have a Netflix account. Oh, and that is if your console even works after a year... I may seem harsh on the 360 but there is a reason people are now jumping over to the PS3. Either way, PC owns all.

If you have a Micro Center around your area, I would highly suggest you check the prices there against where ever else you may be buying from. They typically have lower prices than Newegg from my experience and you don't have to pay shipping. Meh, Gigabyte, I've had some really bad experiences with them. Their motherboards aren't exactly what you would call "stable". Unlike ASUS, you can only use the RAM that is listed on their supported list. Otherwise, you'll end up in a shit storm like I did. I thought x86 (32-bit) OS's could only go up to 3.5 GB? Maybe not? In 2-4 years i7 will be in the bargain bin. We are already seeing 32nm chips hit the market. It won't be too long before we see a newer (and better) architecture running on 32nm or lower.

I have the Titanium (without the front I/O panel) and I have to say it could be better. I'm not an audiophile or anything. I have the card set to output DTS 96Khz/24-bit via optical to my Z-5500 speakers and it sounds great to me. My problem with the card is the drivers. The drivers are absolutely terrible. At random times I get static buildup which I can only correct by resetting the drivers which kills any audio stream open at the time. This makes me have to go and restart any programs that had an open audio stream. It doesn't happen too often, but it is still really annoying. Creative has always made shit drivers, so this was no surprise to me.

I don't know about other people but I use Facebook to keep in contact with old friends and family members. I like to keep that part of my life and my online life separate. The only people I have added on Facebook that I met online are people I have known for years and years. People I have known long enough to where I don't even really consider them "online" friends anymore.

And here I am on a connection that has been decreasing in speed and bandwidth for the past year and a half... Damn you.
