Interesting. Thanks for educating me on this. I was under the impression he came in day one and shut everything down based on what FoxNews has broadcasted. I guess it's on me though as I never really delved too deep into it before I formed my opinion. -

I believe you will see a sharp change in numbers as if my memory serves correctly, Biden shut down the new pipelines that Trump had opened up almost on day 1. We probably import much more oil than we are currently exporting. Which is funny when you think about Biden blaming gas prices entirely on Putin, when these prices were bound to become a reality since day 1 of his presidency. Obviously with us no longer buying oil from Russia, those prices are going to see a sharp increase a small amount of time, but if I'm following everything correctly, had Biden not shut these pipelines down on Day 1, we would most likely have continued exporting more than importing, and with everyone having stopped buying oil from Russia, we would no only have not seen our prices go stay relatively the same, they probably would have gone down with us being an alternative seller and more people hitting us up for oil once Russia did this. Again, I'm not fact checking, just taking what I understand to be the truth and interpreting it according to what makes logical sense to me. If anyone can refute my points, please do. -

Weren’t we energy independent during those years. Producing most of our own oil and exporting more than we imported? I don’t feel like fact checking so someone feel free to call me out -

I'm just curious why everyone thinks we DON'T need a warden system. First order was implemented to stop things from being chaotic right at the start of the round. The common sentiment I see now is that its useless. If we take it out, things go back to being more chaotic. A warden system solves all of those problems. Also, from a server management perspective, this server is literally a patchwork of rules and different plugins all to compensate for the fact that we don't have a warden. I think implementing a warden, is the only next logical step to go. You could try removing first order and go back to our roots and see how that pans out but I wouldn't recommend letting that go like that for more than 2-3 months at the most before you call it and start doing what the popular servers are doing. Unbanning slurs is a community wide decision and not likely to happen on an individual server. If you want to talk about going back to our roots, from like 2007-2017 "racism" was always banned. We ran an experiment and yall took it way overboard.(community in general) CT's need at least 115 to survive one awp shot. That was always why they had 115 as far as I know and I don't think it would be wise to make it easier for the CT's to die to one shot unless it's a well placed bullet to the dome. -
WHY IS THERE BARELY ANYONE ON MOST OF THE TIME
topic replied to kabLe's MajorK in Jailbreak -- jb.steam-gamers.net
Not necessarily. When you have a team who is demotivated because what they have worked on or tried to implement doesn't pan out how they expected and the lack of dopamine leads them to burnout for months then you have where we currently are. Things need to be adjusted constantly to keep up with the times and address problems that come up at different points during a servers life span. I'm sure I don't need to explain that to you of all people but we both know things can be turned around. Maybe the glory days are long gone but we can find a middle ground where we have somewhat of a consistent player base rather than 13 servers with 3 players online. -

I think it was good for its time. We had a problem and came up with a solution to fix that specific problem. As time goes on and meta changes, it seems like it was just a band-aid on a wider spread issue. I think warden is personally the next way to go. -

Thank you for correcting me on this. I think 36 is a happy medium. I never thought about the perspective of 10/44 being more appealing. I wasn't thinking of the inverse of my own personal perception. I do think 44 is too much when you can't even get 20 but I understand what you mean. I think the closer to being full, the more urgency a user feels when they look in the community list. "I better get in there now before they fill up" was kinda the sentiment I was thinking of when I wrote the thread. I think with our current rule set and server structure, 44 isn't viable since I think part of the problem was increasing to that many players inevitably contributes to how chaotic the server gets and then you started seeing the same sentiment of "it becomes a deathmatch", "they just send people to big cage or pool". I imagine boring orders are born out of a need to keep some kind of order since most rounds like you say quickly devolved into war day/deathmatch leading the average CT to want everyone in one area and then just wait for shit to pop off. -

Yea, your last few paragraphs have showed outstanding leadership. I can't imagine why this has been happening. All you have provided is excuses. Leadership is taking responsibility, accepting the current situation, and making moves towards a more positive direction. None of which you are currently displaying. -

When your looking for a real job after college, remember you said this when you tell them you have no experience. It seems like you guys are just complacent and have essentially given up. You would rather let managers sit on their servers and do nothing, then help someone else learn the ropes and who is motivated to do something. You don't need to require people to dedicate their entire life to this, but at this point, you need people to be willing to commit a portion of their time in a meaningful way. If they aren't willing then, we appreciate all the work you have done thus far but to move forward as a community we are going to have to ask you to start clocking in some more time then you have been over the previous months or we will ask you to resign your rank and make room for someone who we can teach. You also don't get to pull the "they don't know whats going on". It's not difficult to manage a server and you should stop portraying it as such. If you know how to move a folder from your desktop to the documents folder you can be a server manager. The technical aspect of what a server manager is expected to do is not high. At the least, can you move files in and out of folders and change values in configs? Yes. You meet the technical qualification. Not to mention, you get massive support from the technical team who is there to supplement managers who may not have the most technical knowledge. As for the non-technical side, you all are kids, nobody on the Board is expecting a child to come on board and be the most professional person in the world and have amazing communication skills. Creten, there was a time when nobody wanted to promote you cause you didn't know what was going on. You also are 100% completely out of your mind if you think the current direction is the positive one. The more you type the less I think your qualified for your role. -

I would argue that after months of having burnout and accomplishing nothing, it's selfish to keep holding this rank when you admitted the majority of you are not willing to do anything since you get no reward from it and are burned out. I'm not saying that in an accusatory manner or to insult you. If you no longer have the passion to run a server, why are you holding on to the rank instead of fostering a young buck who's got their head in the clouds and wants to step up and try to make a difference? We have all been there and felt the burn out, its real and it sucks when it happens. But regardless of why, it seems by your own admittance, your own team no longer has the motivation and passion to try new things and bring us back to the glory days so why are they still holding the rank hostage? -
Jailbreak Suggestions

Hi Guys, Since I've recently gone through the last 2 years of changelogs for JB and my brain has been storming around for ideas for it, I wanted to start a conversation to try and steer the boat back in the right direction. Hopefully, we can have a conversation and flesh out some ideas. I haven't put insane thought into these but I wanted to bring them up and see other perspectives since that's how ideas happen. 1. Warden System: I think we are at the point where it is time to implement a warden system similar to other JB servers that are currently thriving. We can think it out and put a spin on it that suits our server but pretending like the uniqueness of not having a warden is going to somehow magically reinvigorate the server is a futile thought. I'll admit I'm not huge into CSGO anymore so I'm not sure what the current warden systems look like but from my understanding of previous one's you really only needed one lead guard and a bunch of lackies. This is better because you don't need to try and convince people to learn how to play CT, you just need to convince the majority of players to understand when and when not to unload their gun at someone while a more experienced player handles the orders. 2. Decrease server slots back to 24 Historically, our JB server has always been 24 slots. It was increase because the server was almost constantly full and we had the population to back that increase up on a regular basis. We no longer have them. When I look in a server browser and see 10/46 to me that just looks unappealing to join. If I saw 10/24, in my head it feels like the server is half full and would be more fun. Seems like it doesn't make sense but its a perception thing. The people who aren't bothered by that would join whether its 10/46 or 10/24 and those would rather join a server that feels "half full" would be more likely to join. Not only that, but having less people will make it less chaotic and more orderly which at the moment, if you have an opportunity to get 24 people in a server, that should be your cut off until you are seeing it consistently full. Again, realistically and historically, until Dom changed the player count in like 2019 or 2020, JB has almost always been 24 slots. 3. Set your !buddy system to public. You don't really have a foot to stand on to be giving little things like that to a select group of people. You need every gimmick you can muster up. Not a big deal just a thought. This would go for other "supporter specific" perks that are tied to plugins. Let me know if you guys think there is anything else that could be improved in general, why my ideas suck, or ways that would make my ideas better. -

WHY IS THERE BARELY ANYONE ON MOST OF THE TIME

I think the main issue is lack of innovation and change on servers. I'll use JB as an example (not to call anyone out im just not going through 13 servers changelog). Starting on page 8, the first post is from 12/4/20. Just a small update that addresses updating one plugin and resetting ranks. Nothing innovative here. Not bad though 2020 was a good year. No cause for concern. 12/7/20: Removed old versions of a map with newer ones, changed the writing of a rule. Nothing gameplay changing here. Again no problem, server was doing its thing at this point. 12/15/20: Removed some maps and models and updated server to reflect winter season. Pretty standard change here, nothing crazy. 12/16/20: Updated plugin/bug fixing. General Maintenance. 12/25/20: Updated map, expanded definition of spamming. General maintenance to keep up with the times and address new forms of spam. 1/3/21: -Admitted QOL update. Nothing crazy changed here but if you take a microscope, I'm guessing pop was declining a bit, an idea was brought up to lower the amount of people that need to be on the server before activating a plugin that requires X amount of time played on the server before playing CT. This is concerning because if population was holding strong, why would you need to make this change? Seems like a small meaningless change, but the brush strokes are hitting the page. -Updated a rule regarding the use of FO 1/4/21: -Added rule that players automatically muted by valve can't join CT. Makes logistical sense. Not much to explain here and shows no indication of issue with population. Removed christmas related plugins. 1/30/21: -alphabetized nomination list -readded hdr version of a previously removed map All general maintenance, no real changes made so far. All good at this point. 2/3/21: -added a map - Added Guard Queue/Prisoner queue plugin (quality of life change, nothing super impactful) -added plugin to mitigate random disconnects (general maintenance) -added a model for admins -removed xmas related models from store This seems to be from the outside looking in, the meatiest change since 12/4/20 but still nothing game changing. Downward trend I assume at this point is still on going 2/9/21: -fixed bug in new guard queue plugin (general maintenance) - added commands for guard queue into in-game menu? (not sure what they mean by this, they added the plugin but forgot to implement the rest of the commands in the menu for a week? I'm not sure but doesn't look like someone on top of their game objectively. we all have lives and thinks fly under the radar. No problem) -added next map advert (i thought the nextmap command has been a thing for like 15 years?) General maintenance - removed some guns that were viewed as op from a specific map 2/14/21: - added plugin that will auto unmute player who are auto muted by valve (QOL update, stupid thing for valve to put into community servers) -remove rule saying auto muted players can't join ct due to implementation of the above. - fixed map bug and readded a map 2/18/21: boils down to bug fixing things previously added ( general maintenance, fix whats broken) 2/27/21: -add chat filter for no no words -"map balancing" 3/18/21: - added new map - can now stop flashlight from being auto bound to inspect - changed guard queue ratio from 1/2 to 1/1.5 (presumably at this point meta was leaning towards OP t side? also could be at this point current active population couldn't sustain true 1:2 ratio without making it OP for T's. Not sure what change this affects as how can you have 1 and a half ts for every one ct. Maybe im reading it wrong.) 4/15/21: -Raised server slots to 46 ( bold strategy cotton lets see how it plays out for them) -brought in a warm up round on map change to address some users potatos not loading fast enough to make it in for the first round - changed guard queue command aliase - added 2 maps 4/16/21: -new guard queue too buggy and was removed in favor of the older more stable ratio control plugin -star wars event live 4/23/21: - change to health boost ( im not familiar with this as it is after my time so i will refrain from commenting on how it could affect gameplay. I personally think it just increases survivability for Ts/CTs. Not a crazy game changing idea but novel and worth putting in. -map fixing 5/9/21: -novelty buddy system for elite supporters added -removed 2 maps -removed !fk in favor of !calladmin -stars event over 6/12/21: -removed several maps -increased buyable health shots -reduced how much health each shot gives -reduced map exlusion rate 7/12/21: -removed extended round times excluding several listed maps -new round end screens reflective of whichever side wins 7/27/21: -decreased the required amount of votes to vote mute someone from 30-25(i'd ask why was this necessary? Maybe cause you couldn't get 30 people in the server at one time and admins stopped frequenting the server as often to help with spammers?) - increased how long the vote went on for vote muting from 15-25 seconds -changed default starting map to electric ( i thought this was the meta for a JB server since like 2009?) - cchanged team names to guard and prisoners 7/28/21: -decreased all times needed on ct to go through the ranks 8/22/21: - new models -readded previously removed map -changed default map to vipinthemix 10/17/21: -added halloween versions of electric and summer jail -removed some models/skins from store -removed ability to drop grenades -removed lego 12/7/21: -enabled second "first order" -updated neon map with newer version -decreased required amount of players to enable first order from 30-25 (presumably because population was too low to even need first order) -decreased required amount of players to initiate the !tmute command from 25-20 (things are starting to become telling here) -increased the number of times tmute can be used from 2 to 3 -increased time of tmute to 30 seconds 2/5/22: -added newly updated last request plugin (probably the biggest change on this list in my opinion, but at the end of the day still just an update to an already added plugin expanding on previously added features while also adding some new ones, not game play changing) That's it my man. From page 8-9 almost 2 years worth of changelog and nothing of innovative substance. More just general maintenance. I think more innovative ideas need to be pushed and implemented. Look at a warden for instance, for years it was "we don't want to add a warden because not having one is what makes us unique and keeps players coming" They aint coming no more chief. We are no longer leaders, its time to rebuild and do what the successful servers are doing. What other JB server is thriving and doesn't have a warden system? I don't mean to point fingers at anyone here, but when you really look at the direction of the server, honestly, i don't see how its much different than when I was in staff almost 3 years ago. Some new QOL features and updated plugins of past one's. Nothing has really changed from an outside perspective that would alter the current course. You were handed a tough gig as community servers are dying out and pop was declining, doing those little changes requires a lot more effort then most people think which contributes towards eventual burn out(happens to everyone if you say you wouldn't get burned out, lel) Again, I don't mean to insult anyone's work on the server. I'm confident you have had countless discussions about where to go with it and have put hours and hours of effort into those changes but I'm going to say something that might hurt some feelings. At the end of the day, if you spend hours upon hours trying to fix a bug that has no real impact on gameplay and is a slight annoyance, it doesn't really matter. Ask anyone on the Board right now and I will guarantee you they have more than a few stories about certain things they've worked on here that they stayed up late/worked tirelessly on to implement that had no real impact on their server or the community. It happens and is part of the gig. Time to start thinking about altering the core structure of your server because at the moment, your core structure isn't attracting anyone and pretending it's just the time of the year isn't going to help anyone and you should probably just step down and let someone who's gungho get their chance to shine. Respectfully. -

Part of being an adult is not needing 4 people to call you a retard before you actually explain your side. You know like a discussion. I respect your position since it shows critical thinking and not wanting to immediately label something. It could come out that Zelensky is just a puppet and there’s rampant abuse going on that none of us are aware of. However, with the information currently displayed it seems Russia is the clear aggressor and “bad guy” in the grand scope. Nobody on this forum knows what’s happening behind the scenes in Ukraine that escalated things to this point. Next time, try making your last post the first one and people will most likely be more willing to engage in discussion. If you don’t think your first post is worded poorly and gives off the impression that you don’t think Putin is the bad guy your fucking retarded. -

Are you just trying to be that guy or? You presented no information other than questioning where others got theirs. Gentoo you’ve been saying stupid shit for a long time but this one takes the cake. In an attempt to humor you, are you questioning the philosophy of what’s right and wrong? In the modern world, when you invade a country unprovoked, and then insinuate there is potential for nuclear fallout because your losing, yea I’d say that’s the bad guy. Please, I’m begging you, link me to the article that made you doubt that Putin is the bad guy. Do me a quick favor though, translate from Russian to English for me. Thanks chief -

No by definition you have to be all of this to be a nazi If someone says they hate jews and blonde haired people with blue eyes, are they still a nazi? Really feels like your just picking and choosing whatever suits your current interpretation of what a nazi is instead of what a nazi actually is. You're retarded - according to you China is one of a few countries in the world not filled to the brim with nazis. Now that's crazy.
