It's about time we do some promos, so lets dive into it! First we have someone who has been around for a while now and is (finally) branching out and getting involved. It's about time that touchy got promoted to Event Coordinator so he can continue his journey here, claps all around. His responsibilities will include: Organize, plan, and run events Manage/Promote special events on our servers Manage and monitor gaming tournaments Make sure servers are ready for all special events Schedule events to fill servers in need via the steam community Work with the Server Managers to create events that cater to community interests Next we have two, count it, TWO people returning to the Marketing Team because Mace is drowning and needs more people. Nah that's not true, mostly. Please join me in welcoming back cnb and phoenix_ onto the Marketing Team where they rightfully belong. Leave again and I'll fucking hurt you. Their responsibilities will include: Manage all third party sites/applications. Manage all advertising, sponsorships, and affiliations. Recommend upgrades and general marketing aspects for the community. Research what the community likes / doesn't like. Upkeep the image of SG and help expand. Work with the Media Team to manage branding and community design. Work with Media team to manage social media accounts (Youtube, Twitch, etc). Following that, we have a really nice guy who has been around for a whi-....wait what we're promoting a girl? Okay CORRECTION up next we have a really nice GAL who is really good at artsy shit and also maybe probably knows how to code html and other forum things you guys don't need to work about. Give a warm welcome to miche (who is in fact a female(right?)) who will be joining the Technical Team basically to help me fix the forums. Her responsibilities will include: Fix technical issues that arise day to day (servers/site) Research/manage mods, scripts, and plugins to improve our servers Develop solutions to improve our servers/mods performance Discover and fix exploits against our servers/site Assist in data backup operations for the community's data Assist AT's when problems arise or others are on vacation Forum stuff Finally we have another nerd on the rise, jumping from making maps for servers to running the damn servers. He's put in good work around here and shows a great dedication when it comes to improving servers and bringing new ideas to the table. Anyways...please join me in welcoming Three-En-Eye as the next Server Manager. His responsibilities will include: Verify that servers are operational Reboot dead/lagged servers Assist in training new admins Search for new maps for all servers Upload maps to the servers and fast downloads site Edit map lists & rotations Oh right, one more person of general non-importance getting promoted to a not important rank. He has been around for a long while now, and under the explicit guidance of me has climbed from reg all the way to where he is now. His responsibilities will include: Handling and resolving admin complaints, player complaints and ban appeals Handling admin disputes as they arise Managing member of the month/staff of the month nominations and awards Being slave to Greggy Seize the day, boys.

Yeah the banner and logo are not changing for the month of June. End of story. It seems some others have relatively brought up my points, but I'll re-iterate anyways. While there are no rules specifically saying "don't be homophobic", there is the harassment rule which can and has been enforced from multiple different directions numerous times for racism, homophobic statements, sexism, pedophilia, etc etc etc. Any and all harassment will and always has been addressed if its brought up. We have chosen to not outright ban several words that some might find discomforting to try and keep a balance among all players, for example some who don't find 'fag or faggot' to be such a grand insult if its not being used to target someone. Again, this was a past decision that seemed to work with our playerbase, and we don't make changes to ban words lightly and potentially alienate people who simply see it differently, so it is definitely something we can revisit with a lot of community input required. As for your specific situation, there is nothing saying you specifically have to make some formal report to deal with a player harassing you. If you actively are being harassed and telling someone to stop or that you don't like them doing that and they are being socially disruptive (this is important you can't simply say someone is harassing you by existing or playing the gamemode) and an admin is in there they are more than free to act. You are also welcome to message an admin in game or out of it stating that it makes you uncomfortable and they are also free to say something. You were a staff member for a long time so you have some knowledge of this, but maybe you've forgotten it...idrk. Anyways we have plenty of things in place to handle this, and just like real life you pretty well have to speak up for yourself and at least tell someone with authority in order for the gears to start turning. We are not mind readers. I'm going to say one simple thing on any homophobic or transphobic staff members: r e p o r t - t h e m. We don't do hearsay, we don't do public proclamations of wrongdoing, we don't do 3rd party telling of a story. If you think we have this issue among our staff then fucking tell us...we are not all seeing, we (again) are not mind readers. As for this last part, we've done like 4 charities total I think? and 2 of them were for roux....using this as some sort of point to remove the changes to our logo and banner is absolutely ridiculous. I think you brought up some good points as to things we should absolutely improve around here, but to imply that we should revert the changes because of it is working against the system completely. You're completely right that in the past and even currently we are not perfect and people might say or do things around here that are unwelcoming to the LGBTQ+ community, but it doesn't mean we are unable or unwilling to change. We initially decided to change the discord logo in support of pride month, and subsequently decided we like not only the supporting of those members but also the idea that we could show we are in fact willing to draw that change from the community. We are not tone deaf or blind to what has gone on in the community in the past, and some that still goes on today....so please don't take it as such. That's all I'm going to say on the matter. Some food for thought: The way I see it either this whole thread is bullshit, which means I'd be keen to just ban your ass off the forums for a while...or you too are in fact looking to bring change. Hopefully, similarly to your situation...you can understand how our past does not necessarily reflect how we are trying to be and act as we look forward. As I stated previously, the changes made will stay in effect for the month of June, however you guys are free to discuss the situation as a whole as long as it stays civilized and does not devolve into finger pointing. I think this is a healthy discussion to have and exactly what a change like this should bring out from the community.

These were removed temporarily when we moved to the new forums, as we had to completely remake them to work with the new builder. The awards have changed a lot from what we had previously, which is good because they honestly needed an update. You can look at and request awards HERE and that tab is also available from the forum pull down up top, but please make sure you are eligible for the award you are looking at. We had to rework the entire system so there might be a bug or two depending on what you're looking at so don't freak out if you find one, just tell a staff member (not me, do not ping me).
