forum does what it wants

Hey folks, I know this is long overdue and it's been several months since we did a MotM or SotM so lets get straight into it. These guys have all shown great dedication and support to the community over the last month and are now being recognized for it. Please hold your applause till the end when I've finished announcing all the winners, thank you. First we have someone who has been extremely active on Zombie Escape, a server that has been in the spotlight a lot lately and continues to grow and thrive as people like him pour hours of effort into making it a great place to be. Now we have this issue with MotM where a lot of people we want to nominate inevitably end up applying for admin and getting it, making it so they are no longer members. So we came up with a simple solution, wait until after we make the MotM announcement to give them admin. Please join me in congratulating @FanService on Member of the Month, even if he is only going to be a member for another 30 minutes or so. Next we have a bit of rare occurrence, as we are announcing three, yes THREE, Staff of the Month team members at the same time. Before you go thinking that we're doing this because missed a few months I'll tell you that this is not the case. As with Member of the Month, we're highlighting what is growing back into one of our "big three" servers, Zombie Escape. This server, after taking a big loss in both player count and staffing, looked like it was on it's last breath back a few months ago. Thankfully a few brave souls stepped in and said they could return it to its former glory, and holy shit they weren't kidding because now it's popping in there almost every night. @Takuto You came back and took up a role much more demanding than when you were previously staff here, and you did so confidently even though you knew you had so much work ahead of you. From your constant planning and ideas in the SM chat to your interactions with the player base, your actions do not go unnoticed by anyone here. @Paralyzed As with Takuto, you came back to take on a role that was knowingly going to be a struggle, even after all the time you've already dedicated to this place over the years. You have been able to offer incredible wisdom and guidance and really be the rock that the ZE SM team needed to get through some of the tough times you guys were presented with and come out on the other side. @ManiacThe champion, the legend, the 7 fucking rank, 2 time SotM absolute best bud I know...you've brought the energy that keeps everyone going. You showed up when we all needed it, starting conversations, planning meetings, and just being there as a smiling face even when other people were trying to keep you down. I never thought when we started talking back in May and June about you joining the staff ranks that you'd end up here, fuck ya bud. Every one of you 100% deserves credit and praise for all of the effort you guys have poured into ZE over not only the last month but since you guys stepped up when we came to you asking for help. Everyone please join me in congratulating these three on Staff of the Month! Okay, you can clap now.

Hey folks here are the challenges for week 4 and 5, sorry for the delay we've been working hard in the background to find ways to improve these challenge weeks as we continue on to the end. As this is week 4 and 5 and we're still behind by a few days, we'll likely extend the challenge out by one week at the end. Moving forward there won't be anymore delays and we will continue on with this format all the way through week 12! So a quick refresher, challenges can be submitted until the end of the challenge event. Some of these challenges will be easy to prove you did and others will be harder, but it's all part of the fun. The forms will explain all the requirements for each challenge and do not require all challenges to be complete to submit, should you only want to complete certain challenges. Hey folks, As you guys may or may not know, after I stepped up to BD the IAM spot was left vacant to be filled at a later date. Since then, I have been filling the role of "acting IAM" while we decided who we would put into that role. After a lot of talking and deliberation we have decided to promote [REDACTED] to the role of IAM. So Yeah we'll let you guys know who that is in the next 1 to 3 months, 6 months tops. Maybe a year. Continuing along, Maniac and Steven are trying to stack their team full to the brim so that we can have a hunger games style Community Advisor fight to the death. Haha jk...I think. All of these folks have worked to make the community better in one way or another and have proven that they are capable of helping us grow as a community. Please join me in welcoming Arctic, rygor, Yang, and Silentguns to the CA team! Their responsibilities will include: Work with the higher staff on implementing important decisions and projects Handling player complaints and issuing bans Moderation of the forum Give awards to members on request Send group invitations to members on request Post in-game server problems on the forum Help in any way to make the servers fun Handle reported posts on the forums Lastly, we have some guy I don't really know joining us as a Server Manager, so yeah some nice words here or whatever. I don't really know what he does around here and till a few weeks ago I didn't even know he was old enough to go to college. Nonetheless, with Chad gone we're going to need someone to keep ZZL in check...so please join me in welcoming Dom to the SM team. Ha, take that ZZL! Oh yeah and his responsibilities will include: Verify that servers are operational Reboot dead/lagged servers Assist in training new admins Search for new maps for all servers Upload maps to the servers and fast downloads site Edit map lists & rotations Beating the crap out of ZZL That's all. I took a few online courses early in my college career, second semester freshman year IIRC, and I absolutely bombed them...so I can definitely get where some of you guys are coming from. I think the problem is a lot of you are looking at the wrong things here when it comes to what your education is actually built from and how a situation like this influences it. The problem here isn't online schooling vs in person schooling, its BAD online schooling from everything I'm reading and from the people I've talked to over the last ~2 months. There are a lot of teachers out there who were forced into doing this online schooling and basically scrambled to produce something, many of them never having taught an online class in their life. Online classes are not a bad thing if they're structured properly and subsequently taught by someone who knows what the fuck they're doing. If you're in high school and you have an online course it probably sucks, and there isn't much you can do besides start to learn to teach yourself...good thing to learn to do anyways. Most high school classes are a joke and outside of maybe getting blindsided on a quiz or test (due to lack of information) you can get by pretty easily just learning the material yourself and ignoring your teacher who is struggling to adjust / use new technology. If you're in college it's a different story because most colleges nowadays should have a relatively solid online function that even a professor new to the whole online teaching shtick. Overall if you have a college professor who doesn't know what they're doing with online schooling you're definitely going to suffer, so if it becomes a constant problem you either have to find a new way through the material or you have to address the professor directly and tell them you're struggling with the way they're presenting the material. I ended up finishing my last 3 semesters almost entirely online while I worked full time and it was incredible seeing the difference from when I started college to now several years later and a whole lot more college courses taken. I found myself not struggling at all and knowing much more about how I learned and how I needed to approach the information to succeed compared to just trying to follow the lead of the professor. At the end of the day it really comes down less to how you learn, and more how capable you are of learning and taking in information. If you have really pushed your mind and found proper ways to learn you will struggle less because you will be able to approach a problem from multiple angles and take the path best suited for you.

Logitech is king. Moved from the g502 to the g604 (wireless), but I still highly recommend the g502...great mouse all around.

Adobe rush/ Adobe premiere are the go to IMO and you can get them for pretty cheap if you are in college / have a college ID or of course obtain them...other ways. I know a lot of people use sony vegas but idk they just enjoy suffering or something.

I'll stick to my pattern tracking for now, which is to say this happens every time nvidia releases their new series and then AMD is poised to release theirs everyone fires up the AMD is gonna beat Nvidia rhetoric. Nvidia is already lined up to keep crushing in the next 2-3 years so it's not really anything to figure out, their current adjustments to the 30 series from the 20 has cracked open a lot of opportunities.

Alright lets clear a few things up for all you AMD fanboys, and mind you this is coming from someone who switched to an AMD CPU for the first time in 15 years of computer building. As of Q2 2020 Nvidia owned 80% of the discrete GPU market to AMDs 20%, up from Q2 2019 where it was 71% to 29% respectively. Has AMD been killing it? yes Has Intel been complacent? yes. You have to understand that just because AMD is killing it on the CPU end doesn't mean they will magically own the GPU market, it's a whole different game there. Intel has been lazy as shit repackaging the same thing and calling it new for the last 2 years(if not longer) and at this point essentially tripped on a thousand dollar bill and cracked their head open. Nvidia on the other hand has been pumping iron training for this day for the last decade and if you don't think they're gonna hit hard you are blinded by your need for the little guy to prevail. If AMD went back 10 years and started putting in the same effort they've been putting to the CPU market towards the GPU market maybe they'd stand a chance. Nvidia is bigger and better with the money and infrastructure to crush any competition, if you don't believe me look at the numbers. Nvidia - 80% market share, $9.3 Billion total equity, 330 Billion stock market cap AMD - 20%, $6 Billion total equity, 93.8 Billion stock market cap So think about it here...you're saying a company that has already lost market share in the last year and has less money to their name is going to magically take what is their secondary product and own the market? No. AMD is going to continue to crush the CPU market and maybe keep their current foothold in the GPU market depending on how they perform this year, but it'll take another 3-5 years of them kicking ass in the GPU market to even come close to Nvidia. You just can't compete with how far invested Nvidia is with literally this one fucking thing: everything video cards. Think about all that is required with video cards...the marketing, the software, the hardware, the company deals, the monitors, the games, the raytracing, the 4K performance...and they own it all handily. They have been slowly over idk 15+ years just leaking into every portion of the computer market that they could even remotely touch and now they are in a perfect place. They own 80% of the market and they already adjusted their prices down to a more (high end) consumer friendly spot and now they are going to be able to properly deliver quality RTX and 4K which the gaming and video market will just feed off of. Even if your argument is budget pricing, the 3060 is slated to beat out virtually all of the base (and super) 20 series cards at probably a $350-$400 price range, and the 3070 beating out a 2080 TI at $500-$600 and you're just not gonna get a better bang for the buck. At this point buying a 30 series is future proofing while buying whatever AMD puts out is probably spending less money now for more money later, and even then you'll get a 30 series super in a year or two and maybe even another 1600 style series...but even that'd be a waste tbh. In 2-3 years RTX and 4K will be standardized and Nvidia will be sitting there as king on the fucking mountain of money, but maybe AMD can have a seat way down at the bottom of the pile...still better than being intel though. I wouldn't bet a fucking shiny penny against Nvidia.

You again, did not read all of what was said to you as none of what you are saying was the deciding factor in you being denied. You had 5 votes...f i v e...it just isn't enough support for us to give you admin. Also you argue that what was said was taken out of context and that you were arguing because you were being calling bad things and being threatened, but that's not really the point of it. Admins get called mean shit everyday, they get argued with, they get told they are flat out wrong and a whole bunch of other things and they need to be able to handle and defuse situations properly despite that. You have again chosen to ignore a very large part of why you were denied, which was your lack of overall support and at this point you are doing yourself more harm than good. If you actually care and want admin in the future you should read and understand what is being said to you in terms of ways you can improve and prove you are this calm and capable person by simply going out there and doing that...not arguing about it on the forums. I'll leave this open for a bit so you can respond with any other questions you might have, don't make me regret it.
