well the wire that is connected to your mobo is the SATA cable or IDE if it's an older system, you should have a MOLEX or a SATA power connector on your PSU, so hook that up to the DVD drive and it should work.

just get a gfx card and you're good to go, just make sure to see if it's PCIe, PCI or AGP, but if it's a new mobo you'll prolly have a PCIe slot

Corsair are really good PSU's, but i prefer be! Quiet, i've recently bought a 1000W modular PSU and i must say, i don't want anything else, even tho i don't need a 1000W. I might need it in the future when i upgrade, they're really quiet and have loads of cables for enough HDD's and what not. i recommend you don't hold back on the price. Although some Corsair PSU's are shit you should stick with the HX series, they cost a bit more but have better efficiency.

yes true the ASUS Xonar DG is a really good soundcard, can't get any better in that pricerange, it is equal to the Creative Audigy soundcard.

i'm not sure about 64-bit Win 7 but 32-bit works perfect, the Windows Update even finds the driver for you, which should work on 64-bit OS's. although i'm not sure. an amplified soundcard does give a better sound quality but it is not needed if you're only going to use the soundcard with your headphones.

well if it doesn't have to be anything expensive, this is a good choice, i have this 1 aswell and it's really good it can support 7.1 Surround has loads of different options and such.
