  1. Holy shit Hypno contributing positively to a thread. I'll start with the AWP. The choice to have it purchase able at the start of the round was intentional. I don't think requiring kills or IDs is going to significantly balance it anyways. Taking away any more ammo would make it pretty weak as the majority of players are only able to get 2 kills on average before whiffing their shots or being killed. What I will say is that I'm not happy with the conditions for which it's KOS. I think it's very annoying that people can walk around with such a powerful T weapon that you almost can't see being used without tracers. We've had this discussion before and it's either gotta be KOS entirely or remain in the current state. I'd like to hear what you guys think about this. Bear in mind that the "reward" for innos killing a T and picking this up is usually 0-3 shots of an unsilenced AWP. As for the tripmines and hurt station, we deliberately tried to make these dirt cheap because nobody would use them. Yes, they can be fairly powerful if someone knows how to use them, but nobody does, either because they don't want to mess with finicky binds or just prefer sticking to whatever is easy and in meta. I'd consider adding a limit to trip mines if they get out of hand, but I really don't see that happening. As for haste rounds, I think it's pretty clear that they're working as intended: putting the pressure on Ts to act swiftly and keeping rounds from dragging. When these were first implemented, Ts would often end up with more time than they would in a normal round so we really pushed to get these challenging. I can understand how they can be more difficult on larger maps with more hiding spots so Kieran and I will look at increasing the multiplier for the round start time on haste rounds. Another outlandish idea I had for haste rounds was to make every round a haste round and disable kill punishments/bonuses. In effect this would just determine round time by the number of players, keeping low pop rounds from dragging for 5 minutes and giving traitors some extra wiggle room when the server's at capacity. I don't think many people people would be a fan of this, but feel free to share thoughts on it if you have any. Kieran and I are watching this conversation closely, as with any discussion, so continue to leave feedback on the topics if you feel passionately about them.
  2. Online school

Can't stress this enough. This doesn't just apply to online school. I've been a procrastinator my entire life and have mostly been able to slide through by the skin on my teeth. I'm in my junior year of college and just now started being proactive about my work and have never felt more stress-free and had this much free time. Later eventually turns to never, it's inevitable. Doing assignments last minute causes sloppy work and undue stress.
  3. Jesus dude, get a grip. Stop living you're life like you're in a movie and expecting people to just walk up and offer to be your friend. Don't base your perception and expectations off of a bunch of fictional books and shows. What have you done today - this week, to try and solve your own problems and better yourself. Go sit down at a lunch table with people and see what happens. Nobody's going to tell you to leave even if all you do the whole time is sit there silently or make cringey jokes. Chances are you'll find a conversation you can join in on.
  4. I believe this is what you're looking for. Thank me later fam. On the real tho, I've been eyeing the Steelseries Apex Pro. If you want to give a price point and switch preference, you could probably get some better recommendations. Leopold is better known for their Topre boards (not mechanical). If you're looking for a key board for gaming, this is one of the few instances where "Gaming" Keyboard actually means something. Lower profile case with shallower actuating switches is preferred by a lot of people. Any of the "speed" series switches will have shorter throws, and may be what you're looking for.
  5. Use that noggin no
  6. Most likely started around the time the HHKB and similar keyboards started blowing up. It was quickly adopted by "gamers" as it leaves loads more room for your mouse/mousepad; I had a tiny desk at the time which is one of the reasons I had gotten one. They're also popular in the keyboard community because they're insanely cheap to manufacture and have a somewhat universal tray mount design that lets you swap parts as you please. They make external numpads for those that can't give them up, but after spending time with the layout, it's not a huge issue. I recently switched from a 60% to 64% layout, getting my arrow keys back, but I still find myself using the shortcut for them instead of reaching over most times.
  7. This thing is so fire, I want a sound test
  8. The custom keyboard community has grown a lot recently, so I figure there's at least a few of you guys interested in it. Here's my recent budget build as I await my M-65B from RAMA. Excuse my terrible typing Case: Tofu60 PCB: DZ60v2 RGB Hotswap Switches: Gateron Ink Blacks Stabilizers: Durock Translucent Purple Lube: Krytox 205g0 Films: Deskeys Keycaps: PBT Heavy Industry
  9. I usually tend to meme on these, as do a lot of other people, but every one of these posts is people genuinely thanking you for the time and effort you've spent here. I've had very few interactions with you and can't say that I know you at all, but the amount of people you've left an impression on is inspiring to anyone here. Good luck on your future endeavors; your server will miss you dearly.
  10. If it weren't for Chad campaigning we wouldn't have all these great memes; the hero we deserve
  11. The most important part of self improvement is introspection. It can be difficult to get out of the mindset that you do everything right. Good luck and keep us posted
  12. osu! Event

Y'all trollin.. You guys disgust me
  13. Hasta la vista RocksdelaCrocs
  14. Just a few things I'd like to address on behalf of TTT. @Trazz is welcome to chime in and correct me or add anything where needed, as he's the more experienced of the two of us. Many of the points that you've brought up are very real issues that we recognize. Every one of these things is something that we've taken into account and discussed to one extent or another. I see that you've highlighted a multitude of issues but offered very little in the way of solutions. I'm not trying to knock you in saying this, as finding solutions to issues like this is one of the most difficult things we've wrestled with as a team. Much like you, I started playing TTT about 4 years ago, and loved the hell out of our server. While I sometimes look back and think it's just the nostalgia, it becomes evident when issues like these are highlighted that the server was very different back then, and in some aspects could be considered more enjoyable. Now I'm going to address the rulebreakers, punishments, and admins points together here so bear with me. Admining then looked very different from how admins choose to and are able to operate. While this more laid back approach was very effective at deterring and punishing rule-breakers, it wasn't the most accurate or fair way of handling things. I can recall more than a handful of times being false slayed myself from some he-said she-said scenario. These false negatives are what caused higher ups to take interest in redefining protocol, and a select few situations really forced them to lay the law down in this regard. When an admin tells you that they can't act on something they didn't see they are being 100% honest with you. This style of admining drastically limits the number of situations an admin can handle with their powers unless they choose to sit in spec all day. Is every admin constantly trying to seek out and terminate rulebreakers? Probably not. Could some of them do a better job sometimes? Maybe. Regardless, admins are held to a fairly professional standard, and I think that your observation that many of them are "in it for themselves" could be a little misguided. With that being said, we haven't just written off this issue as the inevitable. We've looked at reincorporating elements of previous TTT admining, we've considered numerous other solutions. I can't say anything concrete in regard to what you will or won't see, but please bear with us as this is something we are actively trying to address. In regards to Lack of Community, it's something that I've personally noticed, but is very difficult to address. We can't really force our staff to talk to people, and we sure as hell aren't going to force our players to. It's come up as a discussion among our CAs a number of times, and we're still open to readdress the topic or consider any proposed solutions, but it seems to just be how our server has changed over time.
  15. Those greedy bastards!
  16. YES SIR!
  17. Tasers are meant to give you an absolute answer to who is what role unlike items like the DNA scanner that only provide you information that may help you deduce traitors. We've decided that it's not in the servers best interest to compromise this items ability and cause confusion. We always appreciate feedback and suggestions, but we are not looking to add something like this at the current time.
  18. I've never seen someone surf so poorly. Quality content though
  19. I think this could be a pretty big turnoff for less skilled players that aren't well versed with pistols. Additionally, the advantage offered by armor would be pretty significant. USPs are only really effective at stealth kills from further distances when you hit the headshot, apart from that, it would be pretty similar to regular gameplay. I'd much rather see Negevs only.
  20. Event was dope! I was a bit late but wish we could've run a few more maps. Can definitely see this coming back in the future.
