  1. I guess a suggestion I would have to try and see how ready certain aspects of our Discord and Discord as a whole for a switchover would be to "stress test" certain things at small increments that would become the eventual norm on the Discord. On the public side of things, Jackbox events/sessions and movie nights are primed to be a testing ground for our Discord. On the staff side, perhaps holding certain team meetings in Discord can allow you guys to test the limits of the voice quality and see how many nitro boosters we would need to have comparable voice quality to TeamSpeak. On top of this, we (as a community/active forum goers) could hop on the Discord from time to time and show activity in both the voice channels and text channels, perhaps with some sort of incentive to get the less motivated members into it. Discord is very much "monkey see monkey do" when it comes to joining voice channels and joining into discussions. Hopefully by getting some staff and regulars talking in voice and text will make less active members and new people want to join in.
  2. Sorry for the lateness of this, but I finally got the video processed and uploaded. If you'd like to find highlights from the community meeting or want to reference anything we discussed, you can find the video here: [video=youtube_share;QMJigJ4JUr8]https://youtu.be/QMJigJ4JUr8 Note: the audio is kinda scuffed, I don't know why it recorded this way, sorry
  3. Hey, this kinda got drowned in all the off-topic stuff, just wanna bump this and remind anyone who needs help this is still here! Best of luck to everyone in their classes.
  4. So something I thought of for a little bit now is that we should allow people to use the TeamSpeak without having an associated forum account. I see no real reason to have people required to have a forum account just to talk in our TeamSpeak. Back when I was CA, there were quite a few people who joined the TeamSpeak and left because they didn't want to make a forum account. Those are potential players on our servers and maybe even future potential forum members. The problem with forcing people to make a forums account before gaining access to anything outside of welcome committee is that many people don't want to make a forum account simply just to access more channels in a TeamSpeak when they could go to a TeamSpeak server with looser requirements or a Discord where they can just go and chill without needing to do anything extra. If we allow people to join our TeamSpeak and interact with the rest of the people without the wall of needing a forum account, they may willingly make a forum account if they don't feel pressured to make one simply to just interact with people. I know we intend to try and make a switch to Discord, but until then I think this would be a good change to make and would be a good policy to keep if the switch to Discord doesn't go over well. Making this thread for reference as this is something I intend to bring up at the ongoing community meeting. Edit: I suggest making a guest rank that allows them to join gaming chats, general chats, etc. Forgot to mention that crucial piece, lol.
  5. I've done my best to read through this thread and I'm going to try and put out a pros and cons of this because this is a really interesting concept that could either go really well or really poorly in execution IMO. Please note this list is my own personal opinion on the pros and cons, but I've tried to include things already stated in this thread. Pros: Allows a pair of eyes when players aren't recording and/or admins+ aren't around to help in the servers. (If text + audio were able to be recorded) Allows players without recording capabilities/players who had their recording software off to submit player complaints and help keep our servers clean. More players may look to submit player complaints since it does a lot of the heavy lifting of a player complaint for them. Believe it or not, people are extremely lazy, especially for something meant for relaxation and blowing off steam. (This one is less probable, but ya never know) May deter some players from breaking the rules if they know there's always a watchful pair of eyes to catch them slip if someone chose to make a complaint. Cons: (via @fantastic) May require the tech team to allow some form of public access to something intended to remain private, potential security worries? I really doubt anyone has the capabilities to cause a security breach in the FTP. Most of our players either don't have the technical know-how to get into FTP from their limited access or wouldn't have malicious intent to go after our systems. But, you can never be too safe with things like this. May require more work than its worth. While this would be an extremely useful tool to have in our big servers if done right, it will more than likely require a lot of work to get it done in a way that benefits all sides the most, and there are no guarantees of how many players will know about this tool and utilize it. Unknown extent of technical requirements. It's hard to really determine how much memory usage it will take to store the footage (especially if it has audio), and how much it will take to run this bot if we need to run it on our dedi, and if it's feasible to actually go through with. Will probably cause an influx of petty complaints and make witch-hunting in our servers far more common for inconsequential instances that will just cause unneeded work and annoyance for our CA+. Overall, I think this would be something at least interesting to test out privately and see if it would even be worth going into a publicly released version to use on our most popular servers. I say most popular servers because I assume this will be hefty to run and it would be better to just run on our top servers where we get most of our complaints on player behavior from anyway.
  6. nvm you played us all.

  7. I always advocated for a switch over to Discord because of the many benefits it has as a community builder with its ever-growing popularity and user-friendly interface being so simple that even @ThRza 's grandma could use it. While there may be concerns about voice quality, as long as people are willing to nitro boost the server, we can access a higher quality of voice than what TeamSpeak offers. I think a trial run would be the best course of action since essentially stress testing Discord to compare its compatibility with both our current regulars and the prospect of attracting new players would provide really valuable data to see if the time is really right to make the switch. I've always been a big proponent of wanting to see this switch happen since I think it will allow this community to grow beyond CS:GO and start a new era and hopefully surge and thrive. But if you guys run this trial run and it doesn't go to plan, it's definitely worth figuring out how to be prepared for a full switch and coming back however many weeks/months later.
  8. It was a pleasure working with you my dude. Thanks for what ya did.

  9. Hey, I got bored during this fun coronacation and took an online IQ test. The scores won't be 100% accurate because it's not the real deal but it will give at least a bit of an insight into what your IQ may be. I took it on this website. Have fun, try not to flex your brains too hard My score:
  10. I haven't seen 1917 or Parasite. I really want to see both. May rent one of them today tbh.
  11. I have a few suggestions, 2 of which I really want to see and heard were amazing, and one is a movie I personally enjoy. 1. 1917 2. Parasite 3. Dunkirk
  12. Looks like I'll have some fun in between lectures and homework. Great job getting this out, hopefully some spirits are lifted.
  13. A new headset

HyperX Cloud Pro- Lasted me 3 years until my cat when he was a kitten chewed the cord and broke them. Fairly cheap, good sound, not bad mic attached. https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-Line/dp/B01MTLMV89/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=cloudx&qid=1585361566&sr=8-8 HyperX Cloud Flight- Current headset, had for about 8 months. Great sound, the microphone isn't great, but holds a charge well and has a good range, I recommend. https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Flight-Detachable-Comfortable/dp/B077ZGRY9V/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=cloudx&qid=1585361566&sr=8-13
  14. I honestly forgot I made this suggestion. With seeing how the implementation of buffed !fo went (which this suggestion is just kind of a wonky buffed !fo), I don't think the bulk of this suggestion would be beneficial to the server anytime soon. The only suggestion from this I could see being an improvement would be having some sort of indicator via skin or like a little icon floating above the player model of the person who has !fo for the duration of !fo. If the meat of this suggestion were enacted at this point, it would cause nothing but confusion in the server and seems like it would be too much hassle to even attempt at the moment. Now, the server has evolved in ways I couldn't have foreseen (since ya know, hindsight isn't 20/20) since this suggestion was made. The issue at hand when writing this thread has at least been aided by the slightly buffed !fo and the option to vote mute Ts. There are endless possibilities to circumvent the problems this server brings for its players, but I don't think this suggestion would be of any use anymore. Thanks for trying to stir conversation though.
  15. Good to hear. Even if there isn't a major talking point for the meeting to revolve around, it would be great for the President/BD team to address the community and give an overall update of what's going on and what to look towards. Would be great IMO if they could give a realistic release date for the new forums, give us things to look forward to in terms of large events, potential partnerships if there are any, and maybe a brief open floor where people are free to ask questions they have to speak on things they think could be improved upon so they can get their voice out there if they don't frequent the forums and view this as their opportunity to speak and make their voice heard. Having all those things happen is perhaps a little unrealistic, but it can't hurt to think idealistically.
  16. I think I was the last person to host one of these and apparently the same problem happens every time. Just be wary of all the people showing up and going "omg I'm gonna sing" and then no one actually wants to sing for whatever reason, even if it's a really popular song.
  17. Hello everyone, Something that came to my mind at this ripe hour of the night was that many people including myself do not learn as effectively online compared to learning in person in front of a physical lecture. In a time such as now where many High Schools and Colleges are switching to online classes, I think it would be beneficial to all of us to help each other in a time like this. Instead of cheating your way through work, where you don't actually absorb any of the information you're writing down and it goes to waste, potentially hurting you in the future, we should try our best to work together and allow our strengths to shine to help others. While I may not be the most mathematically-inclined person out there (currently failing Calc 2, yikes), I know I can certainly do my best to help people who are struggling in subjects such as computer science, English, and History. While this may pan out to nothing, I'm gonna give a shot at trying to put together a list of people who are willing to help someone with some homework upon occasion for those who may need it and lack the ability to go to a Teacher/Professor/TA in person or reach them easily electronically. If you're willing to do this, please leave your name (online name, to prevent any personal info leaks), what subjects you're willing to help, and what days you're most available. If anyone is willing to do this, I thank you in advance as I hope this can at least help SOMEONE get through this really weird semester. 19. Sup, Looking to buy some wireless earbuds but I'm pretty uneducated about wireless earbuds, and my wired earbuds that came with my iPhone 2 years ago finally broke. Some basic stuff about how I'm looking to buy: Price Cap: Maximum $200. Looking to get a lot of use out of these for a long time. If it's a tiny bit over it's not too big of a deal. I'll reach if it's worth it. Needs to have water resistance. I sweat a shit ton at the gym and I don't need my earbuds getting fried by my sweat week 2 of using them. Also, I don't need them ruined by some rain if I go out with them on a rainy day. Other desires: It would be nice if the earbuds had a charging case and could be hooked up to USB-c. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.
  20. We do supply snacks at our meetings.... that totally happen...
  21. Erik thank you for all the work you put in here. Though we never really conversed or interacted until more recent months I can confidently say you’re one of the most genuine and incredible people I’ve met in this community. Thank you for allowing me to kinda rant out of nowhere when I need to get a lot off my chest, I can’t explain how much that meant that someone was there to actually listen and offer genuine advice. I wish you nothing but success on your personal journey and I hope you’re able to achieve what you seek. If you ever need to talk about anything or just wanna chat feel free to PM me on Discord, I’d love to talk. Best of luck amigo.
  22. Congrats to all of you. I hope to see you all do great things in your roles, all well deserved.
  23. Adios

Hey. I just wanted to make a quick post over why I ain't AT anymore so no one has to speculate about anything. I have a lot of real-life shit going on that I need to focus on. My mental health is steadily deteriorating and I need to take care of that before I get to the point where I actually do some stupid shit and end up dead. Something recently happened in the family that they can not afford so I'm going to be getting a job so I can financially support my family in any way I can. I just wanted to thank everyone that got me to where I was and who supported me along the way. You're great people and my gratitude can't truly be expressed through words. I wish everyone here the best, and I hope you all can build friendships and make memories the same as I did during my time spent here. I won't be permanently gone, but I for sure won't be around too much at least for a good while. I'll try and hop in when I have some free time, but I doubt I'll have much between my classes, schoolwork, and a job. Thank you to all the people I've met here since I first logged onto the servers up to recent. Even if the people I'm thinking of are long gone from this community and will never see this, I truly hope you all live long, happy, and bountiful lives. You guys know who you are, and I hope to stay on good terms with you guys. That's all for now, stay frosty.
