  1. I will say I don't see there's much point of having this on bhop. It's about completing all the maps and restricting any from play would be rather pointless. There isn't really an issue of too much repetition on bhop since we have so many maps to choose from, it usually has a good variety going and there's rarely an overplayed map.

  5. We don't really feel like this is necessary for bhop since we have been testing maps pretty efficiently and the best way to get feedback on the newer maps is just to have them be played on the live server since many of the bhop regs don't use the forums and only a small minority are in the Discord. Though we may not need a testing event, if we add a map you don't like you can always submit a removal request for the map. Thank you for the suggestion nonetheless.
  6. I went to the range with my Dad today and shot his AR-15. I haven't been to the range in years and it was a good time. Also shot .40, 9mm, and .380 pistols. Grouping over two 20 round mags.

  8. I actually quite like this idea, and it's something I was considering doing in the summer to spice things up and add more competition. I'm just worried it would lead to a lot of petty issues over not wanting to play with each other for x and y reasons. The strongest argument against doing this style of play would be that some people only want to play with their buddies for fun since it's not like an ESEA level tournament for a serious prize pool. This isn't super-duper serious but something like a draft would certainly be an interesting twist to it. I just feel allowing people to form their own teams allows for a cool chemistry aspect and prevents as many issues as possible when it comes to scheduling and potential behavior issues. Another reason why people may team with who they team with is that their schedules work in accordance with each other. Alternatively, maybe we could get the best of both worlds and allow people to form teams but before the championship match, we could attempt an All-Stars match where two of the commentators/BDs/ATs whatever draft those who shone the most during the tournament. The Summer League is months away, but this is something I'll keep in mind. Maybe I'll put it to a public vote when the time comes. Thanks for the suggestion. Note: These are my thoughts if I go through and everyone is fine with me running the Summer Scrim League, if someone else ends up running it, it's obviously up to their own discretion.
  9. Congrats boys, welcome to the team. I look forward to working with you all.

  11. Thank you to everyone that came out. I appreciate all of you for giving me your time. Sorry the server had lag issues and it was a bit of a bumpy road getting going. If I do this again in the future I'll look for a better plugin and put more ram on the server. GG to @frankie who got probably like 10 kills and won.
  12. DM has been sent with information about the event later to those who are participating. Hope to see you all there.
  13. Firstly, someone doesn't HAVE to be slain for freekilling, but it's known as common courtesy to. If we were to force people to slay for freekilling, player complaints would be made over trivial situations. If you'd like to take the personal liberty to be a good person, good on you and if not, oh well. Ultimately, it's up to admin discretion in situations like these. Context is key in situations like these because you can have someone kill 2 people and one is clearly not crossfire, but someone could kill a total of 3 people and two of them are genuine accidents. Just play it based on the situation of the "crossfire". If someone is repeatedly abusing "crossfire" and is benefitting from it, feel free to make a player complaint. Thanks for bringing this up.
  14. Grats boys! Look forward to working with the fellow dudes on marketing team
  15. I believe this is some of the main issues with the server currently, and it's something pretty much out of our control. I'm not entirely sure when the boat tipped from CTs working together to "every man for themselves, I want my kills", but it's not healthy in the long run from the way I see it. While T side can either be entirely individually based or working together from time to time, I think CT needs to be centered around working together to have the most enjoyable server possible. It's quite unfortunate that the "meta" has become give strict orders and pull the trigger the nanosecond someone makes a slight transgression to the order to get their K:D up. --- I personally disagree with going down the path of centralizing power to one CT compared to a style centered around teamwork. How would we accomplish teamwork semi-forcibly? I'm unsure, but it's something I will for sure put thought into. While I personally disagree with the direction of this change made last night, I do respect the team trying to tackle the issue and time will tell if this change is negative or positive for the server. As I mentioned in my original reply, even though I am also guilty of looking at a high pop server and not wanting to touch it, the admins still need to make sure the server is free of rule breakers and being honest when the population is high and there are no admins, I'd be willing to bet money at least 7/10 there is a rule-breaker or two that need to be taken care of to keep the server fun for everyone. We all dream of a utopian server where the CTs work together to accomplish a common goal and that's rather unrealistic with the current player base, but I believe we can definitely work towards a realistic goal of the staff working together as a team and going to the server in groups so we can have each other's backs. I see it in a server like TTT all the time where the admins naturally work together cohesively and keep the server great for its players. It's something that's achievable and it's something we can start at any time. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on whether they have experienced the change or not. Let people express their thoughts on the change without criticizing them for not experiencing it yet. Believe it or not, people can have thoughts on something that isn't in practice. How do you think we get a change in the first place? People express their thoughts on a concept and it gets worked on from there.
  16. While I don't personally agree with this change, the concept is to be able to add more control to the server when the population is large and the server is hectic. When I suggested Head Guard, the point was to add control while letting other CTs contribute, but that's beside the point. But, with this being said, I think part of this change (I could be TOTALLY off here, but) is to also aid the admins. I know from an admin point of view when the population is at least 35+ and an admin peers at the server list and sees there's no other admin on they don't want to touch the server with a ten-foot pole. I debated on stating this in a public thread, but the admins (myself included) need to stop looking at jailbreak when it's high pop and disregarding it because they don't want to deal with the server because of its player base. We (again, myself included) signed up for this so we need to do our voluntary duty and make the servers enjoyable. There are too many times for me to count on my fingers when I join the JB server at high pop and it is a shitstorm that needs to be contained to make the server fun for its players. To accomplish this efficiently and effectively, if you don't want to tackle jailbreak alone, get another admin or two, or three and both make the server fun and increase the pop. I agree with lengthening !fo allowing only ONE person to speak for 1/5 of the round is the wrong direction for the server to go in. On top of that, both CTs and Ts get unmuted at the same time now, (in my eyes) guaranteeing chaos if !fo gives questionable orders. I believe this will only escalate the problem of chaos when the pop is high because it will only be a worse version of CTs and Ts talking over each other. You mentioned in TeamSpeak going down the direction of making more rules to cover every loophole is not the right way to go since people will always push the bounds of the rules until new ones are made. You said that back when you played and pushed the rules that the admins would call you out on your shit and make sure you stopped. I agree that this is a better direction to go towards. I believe that going down the route of simplifying the rules and clamping down on those who push those bounds is the right way to go to improve the server and make it simple enough for anyone to understand the rules. But, the first step is getting more admins on the server so there are people to enforce those rules.
  17. Bump, event is in 5 days. Let me know if anyone's schedule changed around.
  18. loss

That's really tough dude, sorry to hear that. It's never easy to get over something like that. I'm glad things are going well on your end and I hope that things continue to improve for you, and if you ever feel like there's nothing worth it or there is no one there for you, I promise there's plenty of resources out there for help. We all go through dark times. But no matter how we get there, I promise you there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Stay safe and take care of yourself dude, best of luck. I'll keep you in my prayers.
  19. The people who did abuse it was punished I would assume. If something is getting abused and needs to be stopped, wouldn't it make sense to restrict it? By restricting this, it both makes less stuff for our admins to deal with and allows for less hassle for players who just want to play the game. My logic was that if it's abused in !fo, there's nothing anyone can do for 30 seconds to 'free' that player so-to-say and that once all the CTs can speak, it's kind of a 'protection' to the Ts from being targetted and abused by special orders. If a CT still targets someone after the special order is revoked, it will be conflicting orders and if they kill that person for "disobeying", then it will also be freekilling and be dealt with accordingly. I see the restriction special orders in !fo as more of a safety blanket than anything. No offense intended towards anyone, but I feel if people can't wait 30-40 seconds to give a special order I feel like that's more of a personal problem compared to a rules problem.
  20. The Board of Directors, the people with the fancy red names. Everyone's credits have been distributed already though.
